I may make some late stints for the 24hr races, but I work Saturdays so I will miss the 8 hour races altogether. My work schedule sucks for sim racing

I'm going to TRY to drive my 997, but I'll probably be too late for the start.

If you get on TeamSpeak, I can spot and stuff for you.

Ahh, thanks for the TS offer. In fact, I need recommendations for a good but cheap USB headset.

Daytona was a long race. 20-P2s, 35 cars in all, I finished 9th. I could not find a setup I was comfortable with...long race, I was happy to finish.

That was INSANE!!!!!!!!

20 lap long battle for second place in GT2 until I ran out of fuel with 2 minutes to go!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!

You probably should have heard me on TeamSpeak, I probably annoyed the hell out of everyone else.

That one incident where you got rearended in T1 Voltaic, nearly peed myself. I was right on the outside.

I didn't know you were there!!! So many cars. Was that you slowing down at the end on a Porsche?!?!?! What rotten luck!!! :(

I got rear ended twice whilst trying to give way to a faster car. I will make a post tomorrow, it is up to the car passing to be cautious and pass safely damn it! Anyway, I doubt I would have finished any higher.

Started second to last because I missed qualifying... as I expected.
Made a pretty awesome start. Made up eight positions in the first lap.

Was able to push forward the next couple laps and made up another seven positions by lap 11. At this point I'm in third place in GT2.
Cruised a bit for the next hour or so in the dark. Pit a lap before Daron who is in the lead and four laps before Greg in second who I was catching relatively quickly and only 7 seconds behind when I stopped.
Pit stop when smoothly. Fresh medium tires and a full tank of gas. Turned up the boost, as I knew now was when I could put a dent in Greg and Daron's lead. I see Daron pits, he comes out with the same gap of forty seconds. Then I see Greg pit. Then as I am coming to the finish line. I see the pit out. He came out of the pits side by side with me. I beat him to the hairpin and had the legs coming out. With a lapped GT2 car in front of us and three protos right behind. That was CRAZY. Something happened and Greg lost 20 seconds or so.

I carried on. A few scares. The biggest of which was coming into turn one. I had just been passed by a proto and he broke relatively early. So another proto behind him has no where to go but into the back of him. And I am JUST to the outside of them. I had to get on the gas to avoid them... this is going into turn one!

So I notice with around 27 minutes to go, I have about 30 minutes of fuel left.
I back off a little to conserve the fuel. And Greg starts gaining on me again.
Then with 19 minutes to go, I have 20 minutes of fuel. And now Greg is 5 seconds behind me.

An absolutely amazing battle ensued with about 10 minutes to go (I now had 9 minutes of fuel left).
Back and forth and back and forth. And then a pass around the outside going to the bus stop (I don't know what I was thinking, when I realized what I was doing, I almost s**t myself). And then I ran out of fuel.

I'm not upset though. That was ridiculously fun.
Video(s) later tonight or tomorrow.

Amazing recap gogatrs. You must have been flying. I seldom pay attention to names, just position numbers, I guess that's how I missed you. I get in a zone and run my own race at a comfortable pace, trying to avoid incidents.

2.4 hours was long, I enjoyed it anyway. It was fun going into the dark then watch the sunrise. I LOVE rFactor! I can't wait to see what videos you will upload. Cheers.

Here's the first one.
Sorry for the low quality and relatively random song selection.

I thought I had Fraps set to record sound but I guess not.

 at the random song selection... quite surreal.
Dad used to love his Old Spice in the 70s lol (if you don't get that reference it's the second
song they used for their adverts).

Tough battle there with G Hall!

Looks good, Gatrs! I sat behind the wheel of the new car for the first time this morning. Looks great, feels great. Looking forward to the LMS seasons.

A Bit long and maybe boring, here is my Daytona 2.4 race recap;

PS; gogatrs, the accident we were both involved in is towards the end. Cheers.

This thread has gone quiet.

We have a race on Sunday, no comments here. Anyway, I go to the "Database" and I don't see any 2013 seasons listed. I also see gogatrs as the only GTPlanet team member listed. What am I missing? Who is racing Sunday and what class?

My grandma was really seriously injured yesterday and I just wasn't up to making the race today. She's okay now, we think. Had to stay in the hospital for a few days. Hope you guys had a good race.

Meh. Got taken out by a proto.

Sorry to hear, I hope she will make a full recovery.

Sorry your race didn't go well gogatrs, I hope it wasn't me :P

On that take, I have to take the time to write a post at CMS. No problems this time, other than my bad strategy, but faster and slower cars must be more careful.

I'll probably make it to the NALMS Hermanos race, if you guys are gonna be at that one. And thanks, she's still having some residual issues but seems to be doing better.

^Yeah, but unfortunately I just don't think I'll have time for full length endurance series on top of the CMS stuff. I don't want to over commit and then drop out of stuff like I did last year.

Last minute drop outs aren't too difficult to work around. At least practice with us?
