That's pretty much what a friend of mine told me....he was bored with GT5, and was never really into it. Then he borrowed a wheel from another friend of his, and said it changed everything for him. Now he says he's completely addicted lol. I more than likely will wait until the end of the ski season, but I think a wheel and rig will be my spring/summer project :D

Btw, what does a wood grain wheel go for these days??

Edit: while we're on the topic of wheels, how much noise do they really make? Iirc, DFGTs tend to be the loudest? I know I can sometimes hear peoples's wheels spinning over the mic, but how loud are they in person....ie, can you hear them from another room, or through typical interior walls?? I mostly play at night while other people in my house are sleeping, so I can't make too much noise. And if I do end up getting one, it'll be a G27 or T500...go big or go home right :sly:

I can tell you Twitch, i've basically just gone through that whole saga.

I was as comfortable and as quick as I felt I could possibly be on a DS3 and then decided to bite the bullet and get a g27, it really is like starting from absolute scratch with the difference being that the wheel is so rewarding.

In a way it's frustrating starting out (on the wheel) because you know all the corners and lines already and all of a sudden you can't do them. However the wheel is extremely addictive and you just keep wanting more and more!

I still have such a long way to go but without trying to sound too cliche it's a really enjoyable and rewarding journey.

Kodi and CJ have both been the biggest help with my learning curve and have been SO pivotal in my learning experience. These guys have been far more help than either of them will ever know, bearing in mind that i'm not even in your team.

I think this speaks volumes for TeamNEMESIS

I'm adamant you won't regret the decision and in my opinion you couldn't be in more capable hands if you decided to go that route.

Edit: Cj I recommend the 330mm wheel, centrifical force dictating that the smaller wheel will be more responsive and less strain on the motor.

It depends what you buy a NRG woody costs around 150 us, grip royals are around 200 us, OMP has woodys for around 250 us, and last but not least a genuine Italian Nardi goes for about...

As for the noise I am not sure about the DFGT but I have always heard they are very loud, I have also heard that the G25 can be loud also, as I think it has straight cut gears, the g27 has helical gears I think. My dad has a G27 and it is smooth as silk hardly any noise comes from it, Same with the T500, what actually makes the most noise I've noticed is the pedals. My dad sleeps right across from me in his room and he hasn't ever complained about noise coming from the wheel on my late night drift sessions.

I am very glad we could help you with your drifting man, if you need anything else just ask I'm sure we can help. 👍

Good point my friend, the 330mm is almost 30mm larger than the stock t500 rim so 360mm may be overkill, and possibly look like a bus.

Yeah I run a 330mm OMP style wheel and I love it, but in hindsight I probably would have made an extended steering column with an added centre bearing to take some load off the existing steering wheel bearing as my wheel is deep and I feel added non-lateral strain on it.

Hey brothas! I hope you guys are enjoying the Holidays! I know I am....which is the main reason I've been MIA lately LOL. I'll be back drifting tonight.

@twitch: Do itttttt. I'm gonna make it one of my New Year's resolution to only use my wheel for drifting. That way I don't have to worry about my DS3 always glitching hahahah

Hey guys Merry Christmas from MLD and me. Marcus and Gambino you guys have been a real help and understanding to me and have been really good mentors keep it up!

Thanks Kiid, glad we can help out and give you some good advice. Don't hesitate to ask anytime! Hope you had a good Christmas

I am very sorry for what RSM's newest members have said to Nemesis. I have now kicked these members, so I am very sorry again. I hope you can understand that we had no idea this was happening. Anyway if you want to PM me go ahead, I can further explain in a message.

Gambino and I were not even aware of any problem, probably because most of us were too busy with Christmas. But I guess if you want, you can PM me the details. Seems as though it was already resolved, so we aren't trippin about it anyways lol.

Lol you guys are too funny!!! If I didn't have enough motivation to get a wheel before, I sure do now :). March or April, it's goin' down!

Supra, thanks for the offer. I don't think I want a G25...pretty sure I'll go for a T500. But I may be interested in your rig. Is it a home built one, or a prefab? Also, when you say it has a racing seat, how "racy" is it? I'm don't think I want a true racing bucket on my rig, as they are pretty uncomfortable for long sessions, and are usually not that adjustable. My ideal seat would be something out of a more regular car, something like what CJ has. Anyways, we can take it to PM's and see if we can maybe work something out. But like I said, it won't be until the spring.

Glad to hear you're having a good holidays Marc. Hope everyone else is enjoying the season....I know I am

 twitch, pure pressure bro!!! :D Yo man I made my rig for around 60$ us not including the seat, with the seat from a auto salvage you could make one around 100$ us. So try not to spend to much over that for a rig. A custom home made rig is built to your specs and fits the driver much better that a rig one could buy, all you need to make one is wood, screws, a wood saw, and a drill.

Side note.

So I finally made a fb page for my YouTube channel in hope of growing my fan base a bit, this page will be devoted to car culture. There will be pictures, videos, and updates for my channel. It just started of today so show your support and like the page! :dopey:

Anything for the guy that helped making learning wheel easier.

Hmm, you bring up a good point about a custom rig CJ. I have easy access to all kinds of tools and materials (5-finger-discount from my construction sites :sly:, jk jk), so that may be the route I end up going...sorry Supra :(

Thanks man! I do plan on making an updated version of the how to drift video, There are a lot of things I missed in the first videos, I was very restricted by doing a live commentary. 👍👍

Its been 2 years to the day that NEMESIS was founded (12/17/2010). My purpose for creating this team was to find a few people to drift with online. Thankfully, I found more than that!

I found a group of people that I consider to be part of my family and even though we have not met in real life, we share each others highs and lows. I know that each of us cares about each others well being and is always offering our support to one another.

We have accomplished a lot in our short time, over 150 Youtube subscribers with over 50k views of our videos, our GTPlanet and website, to our red hot Night Slide event, this is because of all of your dedication to each other and the team. I know all of you consider it an honor to be part of this team and believe me, the honor is mine. I am truly grateful that you guys chose to be part of this team.

Thank you guys for the great times and cheers towards the good times to come!

Dang I just downloaded the app on my new phone I've been off gtplanet for a few and wow nice D you know I came into this game seeking good drivers and I remember when we met and I was kinda like Humm a team and then read up on the website and bam I was in. We drove and drove and won that first event wow what a day. Then my ps3 died and money was tight and so I lost what I had like gam said my family but I was patient and the day came when you I logged on again and there you all were like I never left. There was new faces and some that had left some great friends who moved on. I can say that the new faces mean just as much as the old. You guys Took me in like I never left and pushed me and pushed me an encouraged me and now I feel my skills are back. I was never the most skilled on the team but I'm a good time always give it my all and push my cars to their limits. And I owe it all to Nemesis my family outside my family. Thanks to all you guys for everything thanks to gam for starting this and keeping it what it is FUN!
