Test Drive Cars Before You Buy Them?

I heard something like that mentioned once before on Some GT forum (forget Which one).

Anyway, I think that it's a good idea. I always wanted to test out a R32 GT-R or a Subaru 360 or a Fiat 500 or Punto or Coupe Turbo Plus.

or even the Peugeot 905 Race Car to see if it is as crappy as you guys say it is.

So, what do you guys think?

Here is proof PD has it in mind.

This is a very early pre release picture of GT5P, don't know if it will appear in GT5 but it is likely.

I was looking for that picture. Yeas, For sure it will make it in by full game.

ummm it doesnt make sence logically... theres a big difference between reality and fiction... i hope you understand that someday.

Read the title, clearly he means the game.

This would be super, if you don't have the money to buy the car yet, you can still enjoy it on the testrack(complex string from gt3!!!!!!hope they put this one in the game)

I usually make it my mission to get every car there is, but this would be nice to have for those times when you choose from 2-3 models while you still don´t have alot of money.

As I said in my above posr (#3) test driving function is likely to make it to GT5, but personally I don't really care for the test drive function much, if it has it then fine, if not fine.

In real life you test drive a car to make sure it is road worthy, in condition you expect and feel comfortable in it/ suits your needs. You don't want to buy a car you have a to pay off or saved up for that isn't any good.
Not take it for a burn to see how fast it is unless you are really irresponsible, or it's a race car.

In GT money is so abundant I don't care if I buy a car I don't like much, I would have bought it later anyway.

While what you have said is pretty much true, it could be a usefull addition, especially at the start of the game when you don't have much money. It will be a nice addition, not a major one, just a nice little touch. I hope it makes it in, but like you said, I won't be too disappointed if it does not make it.

I think in GT3, I could buy a car, drive it, then re-load my game save if I didn't like/need it. Useful when you're early in the game and DON'T HAVE MILLIONS OF DOLLARS.

In GT4, I saved up my first 100,000 and bought something nice to try it out, OOPS forgot it autosaves after you buy :sly:

So yea I'd love the test drive feature. That's a big part of the "car life."

It would be a good feature, but it would also spoil the fun if you are able to test any car right away.

A possible solution is to only allow the test drive option if you have enough cash to buy the car you would like to test. Just my 2 cents :)

Spoil or not, ARCADE mode spoils the fun then? Because most cars are unlocked in Arcade mode.

I hope PD includes TEST drive, but not for every car. Especially Special, super cars, that way you wont be spoiled.

Imagine you work hard to get the 3.5 million credits needed for an Group C car. All A-Spec. And then, you see the figues of the Peugeot 905 (which make it clearly the best in its class) and decide to buy it. Then you set off to a circuit like Opera Paris. Then you realize PD has castrated this car giving it a gearbox worse than the one on a suzuki alto, because it takes 2 hours to change gears, and you do this: :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead: until a piece of your skull resets the playstation. Or you could try those cars you want before you buy them to keep you focused. Or you could have driven that freaking awful Pagani Zonda (also, castratred by PD) before spending 600k on it. And if my memory doesnt fails, this was also an option in PGR2.

In shorter words, great idea :sly:.

I'd love to to see test drives added to GT5. But to make it more realistic, if you crash a car during a test drive, you have to pay for the damages.

What's the point of doing it only for special cars, if they implement this they need to do it for all the cars, i prefer too test a little car that i don't know too see how it handels; i mean if you do it,do it for all cars. Same go's for car damage, i don't want them to do differences too every brand(no problems if it's all the race cars only), don't want too see only scratches on the ferrari's and the others losing bumpers and other parts...

I like the idea of test driving cars, gives you a look into their characteristics (handling etc.) without having to fork out the cash. :sly:

Aslong as there is a restriction on it as you have to have enough cash to be able to buy it and if you crash you buy heh.

That would be nice but then that´s just me.
