I have a problem with the menus. After a mission (race, whatever) the game will not respond to any input I can click on some GFWL menu options but not the in-game options. the game just becomes completely oblivious to input. then I have to CTRL+ALT+DEL and manually kill the game- and the worst part- I have to re-do the mission. Same thing happens if I pause the game. but it's random.

If I had a cheat to unlock everything I wouldn't care. I'd do the 3-finger salute and just go to the next mission. But since I can't find one, this is a deal breaker. I am not doing every mission 2,3,4 times. Sometimes it works fine and lets me hit the menu buttons, it's random.

Anyone else get this? Any work around? Any cheats?

T500 RS. I have read about this problem with other wheels too. I also have a G25 shifter installed with an adapter.

Tried combined pedals now both in profile and in game. Not had a crash since then. Finished golden era and no it never became harder.

However just tried the first events on silver and modern. Thought I did a decent job at enna as I know that track since before but was 5 seconds from qualifying! Sure I can see where those 5 seconds is but quite a big jump.

In modern I didn´t quite catch the guys as I was used to either. Guess I am with the pros now.

Thank you guys for your very important feedback on this game, you made me buy this game :)

I hated shift 2 physics because it ruined a great game, so I was worried about TD Ferrari Gameplay because I like to play with may DFGT wheel. Thanks for your Shift2/TD comparison, it has been so important for me!

And I agree with those of you who say that the press spent too little time understanding this game that looks to be very good to me.

I think it really does feel a lot better than shift. You can still tell the physics are very similar but it's much more driveable, enjoyable, and therefore more realistic. I only wish it had all the asme tracks and features of NFS shift, and graphics but overall it's a very good game. One of the best racing games on PS3 in my opinion and maybe the best on xbox. I really do think it's better than forza 4, honestly

It's not better than forza but it's suppose to be better than both Shifts. And it is. Just like Shift 3 is going to be better than two previous.

I wouldn't say it was better than both shifts. With no upgrades or tuning it has shorter life span, plus no leaderboard on career. Plus points tho the hot lap leaderboard is true, no track cuts and the fast stuff handle well unlike some of the slower cars. Shift 2 still wins for me, its a niche game as its so tuff to race at a high level, very challenging 👍 Roll on pcars :)

I have more fun with this then I had with Forza 4. And I surely had some fun with Forza 4. I did run Forza 4 with gamepad so it´s not really a straight comparison. I believe I would have morer fun with this anyway but that is mostly the Forza titles being so similar. I had more fun with Forza 2 and the MS FFB wheel then Forza 3 and Turbo S wheel. Despite the latter objectivelly being better I would say.
In a way Forza 4 with gamepad was more fun then Forza 3 because you got away from the comparison to my simracing on TV and was a bit more relaxed.

This is relaxed but with wheel or at least until now. I finally after some 15h or so got up to some races that do offer a bit of a challenge. 512 BB Imola race I really couldn´t afford to screw up much and had to redo once to win. Silverstone race similar deal. Avoid trouble and do everything right I will win but mess up once and you may not have enough to get it. Really has to get the slip stream of the guys ahead for easy passes . I had a couple of occasions going side by side with an AI for three corners in a row. They really do allow room for you if you are on the side and at the same time they don´t have problem passing me if I screw up the exits or so. Remind me quite a bit about careful human sim racers that leave margins for error me likes. I end up actually respectiing them myself which I admit I have trouble respecting AI fully if they set the bar really low. In professional I hope they get a bit more hardcore and professional though not to much so they continously ass ram you of course.

So much more a shame they don´t offer you any racing in the golden era segment if the AI actually work okay for once :(

I've got PC version now. A after i connect my G27, in options i can't set steering rotation to more than 100° degree Why?

Any ideas how to change up to 420° ??

Maybe, the problem is in your logitech profiler. See if it's lock there to 100 deg.

There's unlikely to be a Shift 3 unless they get a completely different studio to make it.

My G27 gives me options up to 900 degrees. My T500RS as you only have up to 100. I don´t know what factor but 900 degrees in the profiler on my T500RS and 40 in lock feels great for my F1 wheel. When I get an ordinary one I may attempt more rotation for the vintage cars however I am all passed them by now :(

the G27 is listing driving aids and I can enable/disable them. Though for my T500RS there is no way to enable/disable driving aids it seems.

Has anyone compared the game on more than one platform?

I have both the PS3 and PC versions. I bought the PS3 version first, at a time when I thought the PC version was never going to come. A few weeks later, the PC version surfaced. It looks light years better than the PS3 version. It supports triple screens and the graphics are much sharper. If you have a choice, go with the PC version.

I started with the PS3 version but wasn't happy with the graphics at 720p. For some reason my PS3 locks TD:FRL at 720p. It plays GT5 at 1080p. So, I got the Xbox 360 version because it upscales to 1080p. It looks much better now.

I complained earlier there is something funky going on with my PS3 version. I downloaded it from the store. Twice. Maybe it's lacking something. The graphics were blurry. The 360 version is crisp as it should be. Of course it would be at 1080p but out of curiosity I dropped it down to 720p and it still looked much better than the PS3 version. It wasn't blurry at all.

I noticed something. Golden Era- 250 Challenge- Rico's Blown It. I can't remember how it was in my PS3 version, but in the Xbox 360 version I start in 8th. In vids I'm seeing from the PC version, they start in 6th. In both cases on Hard the main objective is 4th and the bonus is 3rd.

I lucked out when for some reason 6th through 1st lined up nose to tail, and 1st was holding them up, so it was an easy win for me. But I wonder why the PC crowd has 2 less positions overall to pass?

Edit: I see PS3 users start in 6th too. PC and PS3 players start in 6th and only have to overtake 2 cars for the main objective, while 360 players start in 8th and have to overtake 4. Am I right?

It was an issue with Profiler. I found an option to change from 900* degree in profiler, but in game it was only 100*. So i set it in profiler to 420* And it works. Now i can enjoy simple fun arcade stylish Shift sliding amazing game :)

So have I by a long ways. I really never had fun with Forza 4, I think it's highly overrated. Maybe I'm a sim snob, but if that's the case why do I enjoy TDF? I don't know but I think Forza should stick to Horizon. The level of physics are just so much better suited for open world racing. Trying to play that game on race tracks in a GT like manner just feels almost as pointless to me as Grid does. It's just not my cup of tea I guess or maybe it's because I own much better options for that kind of racing

TDF has been much more fun, hell so has Absolute Supercars. A game doesn't need a myraid of content and options to be fun. Sometimes it's the simple things that are most important

👍
It is just a fun game:sly:

Is there a way to use manual gears (TH8) with clutch? It asks for clutch in settings but only gear up and down

Yes, keep scrolling down in the same menu where you set the up and down gears. The interface is a little counter-intuitive, but the specific gears, reverse, first, etc., are listed further down the list of functions.
