Uhm, this is GT, not NFSU.

If GT whould have body kits, then they need to remove half of the cars and replace them with 3D bodykits. Too bad the DVD´s isnt larger tham "9gb" :)
Lets hope for GT5 with PS3 👍

Japanese Car Town scares me :scared: I bet that town will have 600 cars of the 650 and divided by 300 types of skylines and 300 Evos and the other 50 for the rest of the world :indiff: please dont make me this KY :guilty:

LOLOL HAY GUYS! I hear there are tons of Skylinez and Lancerz in GT4!?!?! Confirm/Deny.........................

As the TGS video mentioned, it said "over 650 cars." And you know what? I'm going to buy that claim and hold my judgment until the final release of GT4 is coming out. And the "final release" in my text refers to the GT4 coming this year. So, yeah.

GTPlanet, time to sound off again. We know that "Australia Town" refers to Australian cars in GT4, but here's a little math problem related to Australia. So solve this math problem:

Australian cars - Australian tracks or venues = ???

Also, I'll keep reiewing some of this TGS information and bring up any concerns and such I have to share. For example, "Swedish Town." To me...

GOOD NEWS: Perhaps some Volvo racing, including maybe some touring cars or those GT racing Volvo wagons; Saabs in action

BAD NEWS: I'd only take Saab for handling, not looks.

Carry on.

October 01, 2004 - Following up on last week's announcement of the new B-Spec mode of play, Sony Computer Entertainment has unveiled first details on the GT Mode to be featured in Gran Turismo 4. This time around, the main mode of play for the game will be called "Gran Turismo Resorts."

SCE has provided a conceptual image of the Gran Turismo Resorts mode, which you can see in the media section for this story. While viewing the image, keep in mind that it's just a sample and its content may differ from the final version of GT4.
As the name suggests, Gran Turismo Resorts is set up like a resort center for driving fanatics. The resort consists of numerous car-related facilities centered around the player's home. Here's a look at the main areas that you'll have access to in this mode:

Home: This is the player's home and contains his garage.

Car Town: This is where you go to buy cars from car dealers. There are actually numerous car towns split up by type of car. The concept image shows British Car Town, Swedish Car Town, German Car Town, Australian Car Town, French Car Town, Italian Car Town, Korean Car Town, Japanese Car Town, American Car Town, Used Car Town and Tuner Car Town.

Tuner's Village: Famous tuning shops can be found here.

Event Halls: Different types of events and races can be found in these areas. The conceptual image shows Rally Hall, Time Trial Hall, Power & Speed Hall, Endurance Hall, Extreme Hall, Professional Hall, Beginner Hall and Mission Hall.

License Center: You can try out various events and license tests here.

Used Car Shop: Used cars a lined up here.

Music Theater: You can listen to the music that's included in the game here.

Circuit Area: You head off to the circuits and events by going to these areas. The concept image shows areas for Dirt & Snow, Real Circuit, City Course, Driving Park and Road Track.

Judging by the concept image, the resort seems to have a sense of geography to it. For instance, the European car towns are grouped together with the European Race area and a Used Car Town that presumably deals specifically with European used cars. Korea and Japan are near a Japanese Race area and a Used Car Town for Asian vehicles. America, important country that it is, gets its own Race and Used Car Town area.

How this mode will actually work in the game hasn't been revealed by SCE, but it does seem likely that we won't be merely selecting modes of play from a menu with this latest Gran Turismo. GT4 is due for release in just a couple of months, so we expect to learn specifics shortly.

I was going to get someone to PM me and explain what the whole Resort system was all about, but that's made it a whole lot clearer. Thanks.

I quite like the layout this time around. It looks really ... modern, art critic that I am (not). Hopefully it wil be more user-friendly that in GT2 - no more to-ing and fro-ing to get where you want to go.

EDIT: I just checked out ign.com for a better shot of the menu screen. Turns out they do, but there's one big big biiiiig mistake on it: Why is AUSTRALIAN Car Town with the EUROPEAN Manufacturers with a SWEDISH flag underneath it???

In response to Post #67 by CudaDude on this page (4), I'm pretty impressed with this resorts deal. I guess in one way, it's a way of saying that for this mode, it's nice to take away from the "Simulation" aspect. Because if so, some would define "Simulation" as something in Formula One series, NASCAR, or something like that. If you ask me, I thought the little game board setup for races was pretty fun, but I love the idea of a "Gran Turismo Resorts." I think it's a very nice idea. Let me tell you something. If GT4 was actually a vacation paradise, I'd never want to leave or return to work! I can take on racers in a Toyota GT-One or that Pescarolo Courage while beautiful race groupies (I like/prefer JGTC race queens) dance for me and give me nachos and salsa while I'm either enjoying a race on Saturday night or Sunday afternoon, or Saturday college football.

This should be a nice deal. But something seems to be missing. I haven't seen a single Australian car in GT4. But of course, if PD is trying to surprise us until the game's release, I'll wait. No shame in the game, player. Anyhow, I like this "resorts" idea. And maybe I'm making it sound better than it actually is. Anyhow, this is going to be our "rags to riches" rise to the top in GT4.

Oh, I wouldn't be too confident about that statement, John!

well just a thought? for body kits like u buy certain ones and it could improve aerodyamnics? thats a great idea hopefully for gt5
No it isn't. Bodykits add nothing aerodynamics unitl you reach about 200km/h and even then the gain is minimal. If you want street racing, bodykits, car stickers and NOS (yeah, I know it's in GT4), play NFSU. GT4 is about proper racing, and I don't think you can have a proper race when all the cars look like jokes. No-one would take it seriously.
