lol, i think it's cheaper for me to get this and put on some switch.
While you are at it, maybe you might want to mod the family wagon too with this. :D

if someone do make one, I hope there is a tension spring as well, to make the pull harder.
Exactly what I was thinking re the spring. I just had news this morning that my G27 shifter is on its way back from Japan. Very excited. If (shock horror), the TH8RS (I only use it in H-pattern) gets relegated to secondary duties such as handbrake by this modded G27, I might just visit the CNC guy to make a handbrake plate :)

In the meantime, I hope I can sell some of these short shift plates, otherwise it's an expensive exercise.

Well, I opened up the new one I got and it was VERY well greased, unlike the previous unit. As far as where to purchase from, I'd go with amazon just in case you have any kind of problem like I did, Amazon has an awesome exchange policy.

A wholehearted and sincere thank you to BNG for posting that pdf file. Very VERY informative!!! Also thanks to Carson79 for the update as well. My shifter is still working OK, no problems. I can live it being slightly looser at the moment. Might consider DSD shifter plates in the future but for right now I'm satisfied with the default plate.

One kind if shifter plate that I *would* buy right away however, is one that had some sort of mechanism between the gates themselves, that would deliver some resistance to the shaft of the shifter in between gears. In other words, something on the plate that would sort of "squeeze" the shaft briefly as it travels through the gate, and then "let it go" right before it locks into gear. That would be my kind of shifter plate :)

Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking as well! Some sort of rubber device that gave resistance when pushing the shaft. That's what the gear shaft in my real car feels like.

I have a nice hand brake mod I'm going to post.

Dont post anything if it makes me want to buy another shifter :D

It's my birthday next week so I reckon I may end up putting another one on my pressie list as I do fancy having one for H and one for Seq permanently setup.

I was wondering if I should worry that the shifter now is fitted to my seat and moves..Dirt 2 can be a bit aggressive so I'm hoping nothing rattles out of the shifter :nervous:

Well TM sent me a replacement tension screw, and it was actually worse at loosing tension than the one it replaced. Once installed I tested it and could feel it loosing tension with every gear change. After 1 and a half laps it was as if I hadn't tightened it at all. So I contacted them again and they got back to me today, asking me to send it to France for repair or replacement.....Hofefully it won't take to long until I get it back in working condition.

Nice knob :sly::

Locktite?

Locktite?

I tried it on the old screw and it never worked. Its not supposed to loose tension to the point you must adjust it every day, never mind every 2 laps lol its packed up and will soon be at the post office. I shouldn't miss it too much as I've not been using it properly this last month or so with it being so bad.

Will this thing ever be available in Canada? I could order it from Amazon and go pick it up right across the border at a mail shop, but it would be nice to walk into a store here and buy it.

Same! "Delivery date unknown" still... laaaaame.

I wonder how long did it took others in America to get theirs...

Hello,

Delivery to the USA tends to take between 10 and 14 days. The units seem to sit in US Customs for 80% of the time. the batch I sent out on Saturday missed the collection by 30 min so sat in the post office until Monday morning.

It take 3 to 4 days to get from the UK into the US then the wait starts. The tracking info will tell you when it arrives in the US then nothing until you get a chap at the door and sign for it.

Hope this clears up any confusion that may be bubbling away at the moment.

Cheers

Thrustmaster is the worst company ever when it comes to release dates.. -.-

Well, Fanatec said their CSS prototypes would be out in late 2010, and the game that this very website is dedicated to is quite notorious for taking an amazing amount of time to release new titles and has a history of missed release dates ;)

Perhaps developers of racing game hardware and software have decided that we're all pushovers and no matter how long we have to wait we'll still pay premium prices for products that are months to years past due :ouch:

My InterfaceOne is almost arrived.
Can't wait to try the TH8 with my CSR Elite ^^
