They're made to be mounted right next to the wheel on the crappy little chopsticks. So they figure most people aren't going to need longer cables anyway, and those who want to mount to a rig can use PS2 extension cables.

My csw shipped with 2 fanatec shifter cables, but they are about 1 foot long so it makes them pretty worthless if you use them shifters. Luckily I use a th8 on pc so doesnt matter, but a 1 foot cable is just plain rediculous.

FYI: CSW, CSR E wheels don't have chopsticks mounts, unless you mount them on a ClubSport table clamp.

:( Do you have a PS2 cable? Let me know, I have several and can send you one at cost. They are cheap.

I think I need to add options to ship cables with these...

No I don't have one but I'm sure I can find one locally quite easily.

And yeah....adding cable options would be a good idea. Fanatec used to include a pair of PS/2 cables with their wheels ( my PWTS had them) but I think they stopped including them and only include them with their pedal and shifter sets.

Those aren't PS/2 cables....they are PS/2 to RJ12 adapters so you can connect Fanatec pedals and shifters to the CSW/CSR E. All Fanatec pedal and shifter sets use PS/2 cables to connect to Fanatec wheels but Fanatec did away with PS/2 ports on the CSW/CSR E for connecting those items (all other wheels still have PS/2 ports)

If you can, try to make sure it's a keyboard or mouse/keyboard cable. Sometimes the mouse only cables don't have all of the wires going through...

Fanatec also went the RJ12 route for CSR/CSR E Pedals when connecting directly to their wheels.

So now only the CSP V.1/V.2s and the pre-CSR Standard Pedals have PS/2 used for direct connection to their wheels.

A little update...

Last night, with the help of Cheeba, I was able to get his DSD sequential shifter working with the SFA1. Right now this requires a separate firmware but I am currently in the process of combining the two.

This just keeps getting better :-)

:D

I believe Cheeba has both the TH8RS and the DSD shifter connected to his CSW at the same time using two of the adapters. :)

Pretty handy that the wheel has those two inputs on it.

That is handy lol

I'd need to rethink my mounting options with another shifter

Any word on a cable to connect to the CSP yet... No rush, just wondering :)

(edit, for the handbrake of course)

Not yet.. Sorry, I'm a one man operation :P We'll get there though.

Thanks for the reminder... I wish I had ordered the darn connectors for the CSP board in my recent parts purchase.. crap :ouch:

Carson,

Nice work man :) I'd be worried that I'd smack my knuckles when using the sequential. Is that just because of the angle of the photo?

My setup is ultra low budget and NOTHING like that lol. :) Maybe some day.

They're both H pattern, the TH8 is built in and the CSR is on a self made bracket that removes with four screws real easy. And my hand falls perfectly to both, lots of space. If I had the Adapter I wouldn't have the CSR there at all :) But it will do in the meantime 👍
This setup is about a couple of years of getting to this stage, very happy with it. But it does take time ......and lots of money :scared:

Oh! Ok now I can see, yes lots of room there :)

Boy you've been preparing for this moment... :)

As for it taking lots of money... Seems like everything does, but it's great hobby especially when some of the money used goes towards you building your own stuff. That's very satisfying.

:) Yeah, its something that just keeps evolving

Yip, especially when you do the work yourself. It's a whole other hobby as well as sim racing

So this would technically cut out a USB connection then for me if I decide to use it on PC?

Currently have GT2 Wheel, Clubsport Pedals, and TH8RS. I've wanted a DSD box but was always worried that I'd hit the limit of allowed controllers.

So with this device, correct me if I'm wrong the GT2 wheel and TH8RS will be recognized as one device to the PC?

I do have an xbox so having a TH8RS would be fun for Forza as well. I cant use the stock Fanatec shifters after TH8RS.

Correct Franjo, that's one of the benifts of the SFA1. Freeing up devices. I was coming up against the limit in games and being able to plug the TH8RS AND the DSD into the CSW has eliminated all that.

So... I was looking for a "nail on the head" animated gif and this picture came up on my search... I decided, I need to post this because well... You'll see...

Mr Basher, will you be making your pedal pot filter for G25/G27 in the future at all?

I have thought about adding one to my lineup. I have even asked about it here before without too much response...

The PF1 will work with G25 and G27 pedals that are connected to a Fanatec wheel... Is that what you needed? I also have an adapter for connecting the Logitec Pedals to the Fanatec wheels.

Let me know what you are trying to do and I will see what I can do to help. :)

I have checked out your site, and saw PF1 and liked the idea of clean signals to my wheel (I currently run a G27 wheel and pedals) and I have seen the aftermath in numerous threads of many people trying to clean pots and breaking stuff and not being able to get the right parts to replace.

PF1 would be great as opposed to pulling my pedals down and voiding warranty should an issue arise, I have fellow racers that may be interested in this product @ www.raceonoz.com as they currently pull their pedals down frequently due to spiking issues.

Would you recommend using the PF1 on relative new pedals as mine are approx 3 months old?

While it would not do any harm... I would not recommend someone purchase one unless they just wanted to make sure they had it in the event that their pedals started spiking. As a bit of an insurance policy... :)

Given the price, it's not a bad deal. However, I am not willing to tell someone to buy it when they don't yet need it. The decision is really up to the user and whether or not they are worried about being without working pedals.

I hope that helps out. :)

I just took a look at it and it would be $1 more due to the design necessitating a slightly larger board.

Excellent, have you actually made and tested one before my request?

I have not created one that is specifically made to connect between G25 or G27 pedals and a G25 or G27 wheel. However, I do have customers that have been using the pedal filter with their G25/G27 pedals and their Fanatec wheel. I have no doubt it would work when it's done.

I honestly can't say would I'd have something like this available though. I am pretty swamped at the moment. ;)
