The 20 tracks issue is really bugging me

How do you know that? There can be several tracks in Germany. And different rally stage sounds and feels definitely like a different track.

Nobody knows for sure, but think Killa Aaron probably refers to something like this.

Well duhh i said that already

Japan/Tokyo R246
Germany/Nurburgring
Spain/Curso Del sol
United Kingdom/ 1.The Top Gear Test Track 2.London

as you can see i've listed two tracks in one location which is the UK

location=countries and i've listed 4, and in that country will be a selection of multiple tracks.

The issue isn't 'stopping by', it's licensing.

But keep your chin up; Panoz owns Sebring...and Road Atlanta...and Mosport. If Panoz is in GT5, I'd be willing to wager a 12-pack that those tracks will also be in the game. (2 of the 3 at minimum)

Licensing can be worked out after the fact, no? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure PD does the same for cars (the Lambo & Porsche in GT3 ring a bell?). If they can see multiple rare cars on one location, they will go ahead and study it/photograph/scan them all & then work out the licensing after if need be...

And like I said, if licensing isn't worked out, they always have all the necessary info for the next game, so their work isn't wasted.

I'm just thinking out loud.

I agree with you, we might have 70 uniques with 100 variation, in the "unintentionally leaked" list as you said there's only 2 ovals for Nascar, not enough for a series where there is about 30 ou 40 different tracks (sorry I don't know the exact number, but we won't have them all for sure).

Also we know there will be karts in GT5, and we have only 2 Karting track :dunce:, I don't why PD announced to us for Karts if there were only two karting track for the game...In the GT series there are some tracks who are really good for karts like the Autumn Ring Mini or Motorland, and Motor Sports Land from GT2 and Clubman Stage R5 :).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't all Nascar tracks (length and dimensions) the same except for the scenery off the track?

Very wrong. Ovals differ in length, shape, and banking. Bristol is very short with high banking, Daytona is very long. There are also road courses for NASCAR.

okay, so what do you think? cause i still thing we would get over 70 tracks SPA

My opinion is that it's unlikely that there will be less unique tracks than GT4/GTPSP.

If we sum together all GT4/PSP tracks AND the new ones we know (including ovals, Spa-Francorchamps which at this point seems to be very likely to appear, etc) we get at least 46 unique tracks. Their currently known variations would be around 70.
If a few more ovals, karting tracks (there are many), historic variations of real circuits and Pikes Peak will be added, both the unique track count and the total variation count would be noticeably increased.

Basing on what we know so far, in my opinion these are the possible scenarios for the final version:

1) ~30 tracks, 70 variations including reverse versions
2) ~45 tracks, 70 variations excluding reverse versions
3) ~70 tracks, excluding variations and reverse versions

I find scenario 2 the most likely. Scenario 3 slightly less likely, but what I'd hope for. Scenario 1 doesn't appear to be likely to happen at this point to me, but it's still a valid possibility.

Woah, Nascar has road courses. I did not know that. I'll google nascar and find out about the various tracks in the series. The Nascar portion of the game will be very sparse then.

NASCAR only races on two road circuits a year - Watkins Glen and Sears Point (Infineon/Sonoma). I think.

The NASCAR feeder series, forgot the name, also races at Road America & Circuit de Gilles Villenuve in Montreal.

I know this b/c I was horrified by the amount of body-roll I was seeing on TV. It may have been special effects or some weird shift in the Earth's gravitational pull when large sedans are sucking that much air through a Holley, but until otherwise proven, I'm going to go with these cars being set up 'soft'.

Sound good? Yes
Look good? No. It was a horror show...a very entertaining horror show. Big, heavy, high horsepower cars on narrow circuits is too fun to watch. If I ever make it to Mt.Panorama for the 24hrs of Bathurst, I'll put myself on a liver transplant waiting list long beforehand.

Well, you've got all the time in the world.

Literally - the Bathurst 24 Hours doesn't exist. Holden made a limited-edition Monaro known as the Monaro 427 especially for the event. Normally, the cars need to be homologated for competition, but the 427 wasn't in production yet. Holden slipped through a loophole because they had every intention of producing a road-going version of the car, and it was hotly-anticipated. The Bathurst 24 Hours was run for two years, and both years the Monaro 427s obliterated the competition. The race died when the organsation running it collapsed, but it was looking very likely that there would not have been a third race even if the organisers had survived. Other teams quickly lost interest because they simply couldn't compete with the Monaros. And then when the race collapsed, Holden announced that it was shelving the production version of the 427, which caused a minor controversy because it was obvious they'd only planned to build it so that they could race the controversial car and dominate the event.

But if you're talking about the Bathurst 1000 touring car race, that's alive and well.

Keep in mind that all Amar's winds, except the one with tracks which is still pending, turned out to be true...
almost eight dozen of skypaths
8x12=96 skypaths

And back in june, what did Jeff Rubenstein say?
more than 40 tracks with over 100 layouts

All depends on the exact meaning of "layout". If it includes reverse variations of original tracks, then the list is pretty much GTPSP tracks + confirmed GT5 tracks + (optionally) Spa with eventually very few other surprises left.
If it excludes reverse variations, then the numbers wouldn't add up, as the amount of unique tracks needed to reach 100+ layouts would be way more than ~45.

By the way, maybe it's a bit off-topic, but I wanted to share this video. It gives a good representation of how racing on the full Monza layout (10 Km, standard track without chicanes + oval) would be if it will be included in GT5:
