1950 British Grand Prix
The first Grand Prix, with King George VI, his wife Queen Elizabeth and Louis Mountbatten greeting the drivers.
Actually the 1950 British GP was not the first Grand Prix race, not by a long shot. It was, however, the first GP which was part of a championship series with a declared overall winner.
I can't post because I'm on mobile, but there's a picture of a tornado at Daytona Speedway...
Isn't Daytona a bit not-mid-western to get Tornadoes?
It's warm, humid, flat and windy. Prime tornado brewin' terrain. It's just not as much of those things as the Great Plains. Very heavy thunderstorms are very common though because the penninsula isn't very wide storms often make it to the ocean before they get strong enough to spawn tornadoes.Isn't Daytona a bit not-mid-western to get Tornadoes?
