Quite a lot if they're company cars. Our two MD's have A7's with sequential numbers and some of the sales team's Fiestas also have sequential numbers. Obviously often seen together in our car park.

My bet would be on that they just clearcoat it. Otherwise sharpie would just wash out within a week or two.
