Speed of plane during landing + landing on its body = the potential for the friction to have created a lot of heat, which could set fire.

What's with the fire trucks? Wasn't even on fire.
Granted in the grand scheme of things it's minor, but it's a crash nonetheless. As 1241P stated, there is a lot of heat generated and jet fuel isn't exactly stable.

Hence firetrucks.

No need for that.

I was serious but maybe should have been more descriptive. Yes, the plane was not on fire and yes there needed to be fire trucks there, but it seemed to me like a waste of material to be spraying it when there was no fire. They weren't even spraying the plane anyway...

There's a potential for a fire. When there's a potential for a fire, with the added danger of gasoline, and an aircraft on the line, you wouldn't want to risk it.

They are spraying the areas where it touched down and sparked. If it leaked fuel on impact and if it were to catch fire, you do not take the time or risk your life to walk over, check for moisture, dip your finger in it, and give it a sniff. You just spray the hell out of it, just in case. Plus you also wash off any shrapnel that may be a danger to other planes.

It should be noted that the truck that came in from the right did begin praying the plane just before the video ended. Spray the landing path/potential fuel trail and spray the smoking hot plane.

This must be made with glow sticks and brought to a rave...

I've seen a version of that video where the balls are lit up under UV light, looks AWESOME!

EDIT: Here it is:

Anyway, this was shown on Britain's Got Talent (most countries have got a version of this show) this Saturday, just stunning:

Umm... What did I just watch?

*edit*
Oh, watch the trailer...

Umm... Still not sure what that was...

New report on a pretty entertaining story and here's the brief:

One day, a guy named Torres gets a job offer by the CIA to rob banks in order to evaluate how well their security is. Each time he successfully robs a bank, he gets a wad of money. If not, he still gets some money. The banks and staff are obviously unaware of the greater purpose and he is to not reveal his intentions. Torres gets all his instructions via phone from a guy who goes by the name of Theo, but the two have never met. Incredible story.

Wow that's definitely interesting. Huge risk though if someone fires a gun at him though.
