The artificial scarcity in this game is kinda absurd.

So I'm sorry to have to contradict some here, but personally I don't find the possible progress too difficult or too slow. There are plenty of ways to get enough credits pretty quickly. Added to this is the "Error-free" bonus, which is now really easy to achieve. So it's going really well. Due to personal circumstances, I currently have less time to play than I would like, but I have no problem getting credits. I'm currently still doing the cafe missions and for almost every new task you need a new car, I usually won a suitable model beforehand. I then tune this model completely and create a good working setup to be able to do well in the races. Add to that flawless races and at the end of the day I have at least the same credits as before, but I have new cars and I'm a bit further. As soon as these café tasks are completed, it's time for the track challenges and later for the credits farms to be able to buy the luxury models. Since I always completely tune a car during the missions, I later have enough choice to farm credits.

I like the aspect that you don't immediately get so many cars thrown at you like e.g. at GTS. Within 1-2 weeks you already had all the "necessary/good" GT3-GT4 vehicles in GTS, plus a lot of credits to buy any vehicles you might need and plenty of miles to tune the cars if necessary.

I like that GT7 doesn't run that fast yet.

For me last year, Forza Horizon 5 was extremely crass... after 14 days you basically had everything important and most of the best vehicles including tuning... whoa... how boring!

The only feature from FH5 I wanted in GT7 is the basket. But PP in GT series doesn't seem to be as straightforward as PI in Forza.

I don't mind working through a solid GT single player, that's what GT is about originally if your over age 30 and played the original.

My problem is vehicle scarcity, 1 Tesla in game is that right??? Anyways I'd love to see more cars and trucks. So far it's actually seeming dry in content but GT historic standards....
I am also shocked to see 1 Tesla in the game. Would be so much better if it was 0 :P

Personal taste aside, I think that's a good point about working through single player. Even if you have limited time, say 2 - 3 hours per week, you'll eventually get through cafe and have some high priced races.

I was so happy to see the Model 3 Performance in this little introduction video they did a while ago, and first thing i did after brand central opened for me, i took a look at the tesla dealer and couldnt believe my eyes, the same old model S from GTS, cant tell you how upset i was that they lied to me, even though there is a little notice in the trailer that says it´ll come later, but i didnt read that the first time i saw the trailer :D

Not only is earning credits very slow, but the fact that some cars are locked behind either limited stock (in the used car dealership) or invitations (in brand central) is really annoying for those of us that have limited time but would like to drive these cars in game. On top of that, certain car parts (like engine swaps) are only available through the rigged roulette system and thus you've got a game that is forcing you to play possibly hundreds of hours to get items that you'd like.

Was this how old GT's worked? I get that it's designed to make it a bit of a journey to collect all the cars, but I think it goes a little too far, especially when I don't get the option to just load up any car in an arcade mode race. There will be cars in this game I will literally never own because I don't have the time. This means I'll never get to drive them in the game, which is kind of ironic seeing as you buy these sorts of games to drive cars you'll never get to drive in real life.
I think every single issue makes sense when you realise they just want you to spend £££ on credits.

I don’t think earning 100K every 4 minutes is that slow.
I suppose if you REALLY like dirt racing on the same track it's not. If you're like me and you hate dirt rally, it's a painful way to earn credits. Would be nice if PD could have deigned to give us the entire cafe mode at launch, then we would have had multiple races in IB/IA/S classes that paid out 100-250k just like every other game in the series

The used car dealerships is almost pointless at the moment. The only cars that pop up are the ones you will win through the menu books anyway. It does not refresh at all as far as I can tell.

I'm particularly disappointed with the engine swap feature because it's basically unattainable.
You earn a random engine for a random car (as far as I know it is random just like all lottery parts), in a 1:5 chance lottery, per menu book that offers a 4 star and 4 star only ticket.
I've had about six 4 star Tickets so far. No engine yet.
Someone do the maths how chances are of getting a 2JZ for an S15 Silvia 🤷

if engine swaps allow people to create OP cars, then yes it is unfair
but if engine swaps do not create an unfair advantage
it is just a neat little unicorn that makes the game more fun

Well, there is this tuning shop which offers the same thing in pieces. And that's Gran Turismo for you. It gives every one of us the opportunity to become a racing bully if we want. I've done it a few times myself to the bots, when all I really needed to do is turn down the difficulty... silly me. :P

The UCD does need an overhaul though. Often, there are only 14 cars available because one is sold out, taking up a spot where a new gem could be found. And that greyed out block can sit there for weeks.

Here in the States, there are massive used car dealerships offering dozens to well over a hundred cars on any given day. I hope one of these updates to give us something more like we had in GT4.

Once you finish the Cafe Menu's it does apparently rotate more frequently (some have said daily, someone else said every 3 races you do, not sure which is correct).

I'm OK with the size of the lot. If I recall, it's similar to other GT used car lots in size. But if they had a little more turnover, that would be fun.

My UCD said it would now update daily.
I don't know if it was different before this, but today was the 1st time I went there to add some cars to my collection.

I've been done with the cafe for 3 (maybe even 4) full days and I've only seen 4 new vehicles thus far. An Integra, one of the 911's you can buy new in the dealership, the Celica 4wd car from '94, and a touring Civic R. So it seems it's one per day from I've seen. Definitely doesn't update every three races for me unless there is something you need to accomplish before it updates every three races. Don't know what that would be though as I'm done with the licenses, missions, and cafe. So unless it's tied to that weird music rally thing I'd say it only updates once per day.

I can't admit the shortage of circuits (tracks). They are the same as GT Sport with some of GT6. No tracks debuting! I can't understand how Slighty Mad Studios and Milestone, studios that don't have Polyphony's budget, manage to put several world circuits at the launch of their games.

One of the main problem of this game is upgrades cost too much. Here you can see my stats. Toplam Kazanılan Kredi is the Total Credits earned and Modifiyelere Harcanan Krediler is Total Credits spend on upgrades. Its ridiculous.

The way it's setup now is really bad, imagine there's a specific car you've been wanting and for some reason you may not be able to play the game for that week/day now you missed the car and have to wait pretty much a few months to a year for it to return.
You must've never played 5...

Well gt7 is meant to be a sim game and used cars you might want are often times scarce irl. :sly:

If we could continually win and sell unwanted cars in GT7 for some extra credits like in previous GT games, and if they removed the random roulette prize system and special purchase invitations, I think GT7 would be the perfect racing game (or pretty darn close to it).
I will absolutely be hoping for the ability to sell cars, even if it's something like 50% depreciation, I wouldn't mind that, but not having the ability to sell a car for some money seems awful, in both a realistic sense and game mechanics wise.

Ideally what I'd like is the more heavy mileage and overall wear you do to a car, the more it depreciates in resale. Therefore you'd be reconsidering what car to use for a "dirty" race if you planned on using it to grind some races, then selling it. Add to this, if you restore the body rigidity and the engine etc to original, you can reverse some of this depreciation. You'd benefit mostly for doing that on expensive cars where the value greatly depends on it being close to original. What would help is if you could also easily sell off all the upgrade parts themselves as used for a bit of extra cash. Hell throw in another tuning shop to the game, call it "Used parts shop" It'll be like an ebay listing of random parts for random cars that rotate daily, but it's "used" so you save a ton of money here. Maybe even you'll find one of them fancy engine swaps there too and if you wait a couple more in game minutes, the parts will be further discounted to sell quickly. Because the luck of finding an engine swap via tickets is bollocks.

Me too, even though I think that PD wont implement the option to sell cars - the goal of the game is to collect as many cars as possible, selling them would counterproductive.

Another reason why I'd love to have the option to sell cars is to get rid of all the cars I don't like and no longer need to have a more tidy garage. There is the discard option, but I have not tried it yet, I guess it just destroys the car which is kind of a waste.

Or rather, selling cars means you get credits, but you're supposed to buy credits through the microtransactions.

Yes but if you have two or more of the same car in the same color, there is no interest in terms of collection. And I feel that the folks who are not into collection should be able to sell the cars they have no (more) use.
