It wasn't exactly a failure per se, but it was overly complex and ended up costing a lot of money. The roadgoing NR750's were going for nearly 50 000$ at the time, back in 1992. It did make 130hp, though... most 750cc bikes these days are making about that much power.

Clean, indeed.

It looks like you painted the valve cover. Nice choice of color (A little more cherry color and much glossier than you see on most).
What did that Slowboy manifold cover set you back?

Thanks.. I bought the candy red valve cover on eBay for around $100. I probably paid too much for it as I've seen them go for much less on there. Oh well..

My manifold heat shield is actually made by JM Fabrications. I got it for $40 from ExtremePSI but like you said its available from many other vendors including Slowboy Racing.

No pictures of the engines, but they speak themselves of their beauty.

👍

Well, you'd have to put up with lots of smoke...

Alcos were/are Notorious for smoking. Interesting 4-stroke sound, though.

i think that we should make a thread for the best engine sounds, do you guys think that is a good idea? i haven't done a search to see if there already is one, but i have been thinking about making one for a while now.
now i will leave you with a picture.

Two centrifugal blowers....What is that mill? and why two blowers? extra drag on the pulley system...

Call it the 'Catabusa'.

Turns out the only certified builder for Caterham in North America resides a couple hours up-island from me.
And yes, that motor is the 1300 from the Hayabusa.

Or how about you splice two of those together and drop it into the same car!
