What I wish to highlight with this video series:

- The beauty of certain cars and some tracks
- The “coolness” of the body/suspension movements and of the special effects like particle effects and reflections

For that I played around 8 hours on 31 different tracks with 32 different cars, which I consider the most beautiful of the game. I thought hard about which car matched which track and which color I should use for the specific car/track combo. After having recorded the footage, I looked through every replay (I drove 7 laps on each track, on the long ones I did 4-5, I found out that the replay angles repeat every 4 laps though), and cut out 399 scenes, of which I thought that they would represent the things I want to highlight best and which simply looked really cool because of used camera angles.

Just for the statistics:
Raw replay footage length was obviously about 8h and had a size of 37,5 Gigs.
Cut replay footage length was about 58 minutes and had a size of 3,15 Gigs.
I certainly spend about 40-50 hours on that alone. Another additional 50-60 will be needed to add/cut all 7 parts of the music videos. Just a wild guess.

Tell me what scenes you liked most and also I would really appreciate any comments/criticism regarding car/track/color combos, replay angles used, cutting, music, video idea and the video in general basically, here and on youtube.
I hope you enjoy. 👍

This first part consists of 110 scenes=109 cuts. I used some of the songs from Need for Speed 4, as the video name already implies. I really thought it would match the whole slow motion theme well, pretty much every song used here is rather slow and soothing, so I used lots of long scenes and avoided too much cuts.

My personal top 10 scenes for this video are:

10. 8:00-8:06
9. 9:21-9:40
8. 5:29-5:42
7. 11:06-11:16
6. 11:16-11:26

5. 10:00-10:18
4. 7:18-7:24
3. 1:51-2:00
2. 12:33-12:52
1. 4:58-5:06

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Very different music in part 2, this video’s theme is house music. The video consists of exactly 162 cuts and is not even half as long as the first one, so there are many more short scenes in order to fit the house music theme.

My personal top 5 scenes for this video are:

5. 3:52-3:59
4. 5:22-5:29
3. 4:51-5:07
2. 0:33-0:37
1. 0:15-0:22

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In part 3 I used one of the songs, that hab been recommended to me from another thread I made, where I asked for fitting music, it is one of the Wangan Midnight songs, quite different than the other stuff I used. The video consist of 82 scenes.

My personal top 5 scenes for this video are:

5. 1:21-1:34
4. 3:29-3:36
3. 0:13-0:27
2. 0:00-0:13
1. 4:46-5:09

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Part 4 is a little longer again and features techno/house music with 88 scenes. Thing is, I noticed I have still plenty of footage left, so there will also be a part 5, at least. Another reason for this is, that my favourite scene of the bunch hasn't even been used yet.

My personal top 5 scenes for this video are:

5. 5:10-5:28
4. 6:47-6:50
3. 3:38-3:40
2. 8:39-8:47
1. 7:15-7:33

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Part 5 uses a pretty cool song from the 90's if I remeber correctly. Consists of 59 scenes.

My personal top 5 scenes for this video are:

5. 4:07-4:12
4. 0:48-0:54
3. 0:36-0:43
2. 3:51-3:59
1. 5:00-5:08

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This part's piece is from Forza 4,, this time it consists of 34 scenes. One of those is my absolute favourite, I really think this is the best replay camera shot used in the entire game, which one it is I will highlight in the top 5.

So my top 5 scenes for this video would be:

5. 3:12-3:23
4. 5:34-5:46
3. 1:55-2:06
2. 0:41-0:54
1. 1:11-1:22 - This one is my absolute favourite of all of the 399 scenes I cut out. During no other replay camera used, the cars do look so real like in this one right here, you agree?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The last part feautures Need4Speed music again, only one title this time around though. Consists of 19 scenes and is not surpirsingly by far the shortest one.

My personal top 5 scenes for this video are:

5.
4.
3.
2.
1.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A little extra. Unused scenes, not music-synchronized this time.

Wow, pretty cool video. good job! Was the game replay footage prior or post the last update? It seems the suspension in replays acts even more realistic after update 2.08

Thank you mcfiizle and mikeonthebike (hilarious name ), the footage was done without the 2.08 update unfortunatly.

I usually can't stand GT5 replays, especially those with the FGT or F1 cars, I find them bland, boring and a waste of time. But, having said that I watched your video from start to finish and enjoyed every moment of it, it's edited in such a way that keeps the viewer interested and the music fits very well. Well done that man, I will look forward to seeing more...

Wow, that's really, REALLY cool to hear, glad you enjoyed it that much. 👍 I guess it was down to the fact that I used only cool/exciting replay angles and/or if there was any action going on on the screen (drifting etc.) and probably because there is a relativly high number of different cars and tracks.

Next part will be ready sometime next week by the way, at the latest. Cheers.

That's really cool! Especially the 908 @ La Sarthe. That part sold me. Great job! And the music fits the video to a T!

Oh yeah the 908 is one beautiful beast around evening-nightish La Sarthe, thx!

Waouw the video is Awesome !
Great job mate
I would however have chosen another soundtrack, I find this one harassing taking over picture beauty, for example with a classical or jazzy music the immersion is really impressive, but it's just minor remarks your job is GREAT !

How did you mount it, is there an export option in game ?

Huh? Mhkay if you think classical music or jazz fits better, than you're going to have a bad time... No seriously, the next 3 parts will also feature let's say...definatly no classic music, oh well. Thx nonetheless.

I did record the footage with the HDPVR.

You did big job 👍

Spoken like a true Russian.

Jk Jk my friend, thank you a lot.

It means a lot when it's coming from the best video-editor on "the planet."👍 (you see what I did there? lol)

Cool videos man!

Off topic, what program did you use to slow the shots down? I'd love to do that for some GoPro footage I have.
