anyone wanna try out my track?
It's called the Devil's flight (might change it to Mt. Murderer)
Its not really realistic, but still pretty challenging, your dodging the AI as they skid and nosedive over hills and crash (If you choose fast cars for the race). Lots of pileups.
A Different track for when you want more action in your races.
The key is to watch your speed.

^ A track map or YouTube replay is a lot more relevant and helpful to understand a track than a verbal description. Do what I did and take a picture with your phone. It doesn't have to be completely clear, it's only a track map. I mean look at how horrible the quality of the picture at the top of the page is...

Looking at the Circuito Fantasmo, I would totally build that track. Although I might cut the chicanery of turns five and six. Or maybe mirror it.

Got the pics 👍

Don't let the shape fool you... its not as easy as it looks

In order to dominate this track, you have to:
Meditate...

avoid pileups...

brake...

See through the smoke...

Overtake your enemies...

Do a barrel roll...

Fight...

And drift...

to victory!

If Its a bit too much just use a slower car (below 300hp) and its a nice relaxing drive.
lol had a bit too much fun...

That looks expensive.

I would change up the turns if I could. In all likelihood it would devastate the entire track and take a little away from the circuit's character. It's still a hell of a lap though.

advent, you can use the [YOUTUBE ] tag or [YOUTUBEHD ] tag (both without spaces, obviously) and then put the little code that comes right after "watch?v=" in the tag.

Thanks for the tips Dracwolley. When I finally take delivery of the replacement laser for my PS3, i'll record an in-car version with all the on-screen data too. I have to say that the replays dont work as well on custom tracks, which is a pity...

Its a great track, but having watched a few others on here, they all look very similar. I reckon that PD will release additional locations as DLC as im sure someone posted pre-release evidence of 10+ different locations....fingers crossed!

I've only created one so far, but I have to say, I love driving it, so challenging, plus the fact that I'm still learning it. The undulations are crazy, really makes me feel like i'm driving some country road in the middle of nowhere. I love it. I'll try uploading a lap of it soon.

I spent a lot of time going back and forth with this course to get it just the way I wanted. I am really pleased with the results. It has everything you want in a course, nice high speed straights, sweeping corners, tight corners, switch back Esses, and loads of elevation changes including getting air!
If you are interested in trying out a course I really think you will enjoy, send me a friend request if we are not already friends.
I would love to hear some feedback after you try it.
👍

Snagged a cool shot on my track today...

To make it easier to share tracks (without the need to add each others IDs and share them through the game)

Could we not just list what theme we've used, time of day, then how many 'points' and the 3 different values for each stage?

Surely if we were to enter these into our course maker, it would generate the same track?

What I would have like to see with the course maker was a system similar to a game here in the UK way back in the day (Amiga) Lotus III. It had a course maker where you had alot more varibles that you could edit and when you generated a track, you were given a 16 digit code which would work on anyones game to create the same track. The in game editor was called R.E.C.S. and was created by Magnetic Fields, who I believe became Evolution Studios (WRC series - PS2, Motorstorm series - PS3)

articzap, that looks nasty. You should dial it all the way up with seven sectors, each with complexity and severity set to maximum (and maybe width at minimum) and see what you get.

Nope - it's completely randomised. You can click the re-draw button at any time and the game will generate and entirely new circuit using the same parameters that you had set for the previous one.

I suspect it's not COMEPLETLY random. I believe I have seen the same track layout come up again when I kept hitting the next button enough times. I haven't tested this, and it may have simply been a similar layout. I do plan to test this by taking one of my saved tracks and cycling through the combinations until I either see it come up again, or I am convinced that it won't.

But besides that, I don't want to give away the combination I used to make a great track.

Actually I checked this - while I'm sure there are a finite number of layouts, as I saw a specific layout repeated exactly, the second track was NOT in the same position on the map as the first (you can tell by the positioning of the contours).

Made a new one with 58 turns. I'm shooting for a 100.

For advent:

Well, I had hoped to be able to create a different view for this replay as requested to show the cockpit view. However, having had the laser drive and carriage replaced this afternoon (KEM 400AAA)...I managed to get about 3 hours play this evening before GT froze again, and buggered the drive again....This was a brand new genuine Sony part from Jackofallgames. I can't believe it...really can't believe it... not a happy bunny right now... Think I night go a cry a bit.... :(

Well that's interesting. That makes me wish you could lock in the layout and just move it around to get the best position on the terrain.

It's just frustrating that such a simple addition isn't included. But we CAN hope that a few small additions will come with DLC and make the track creator AWESOME!

I had tested this idea too, I never saw the original track recreated, not even close.

But I was using a 7 sector track, perhaps with less sectors it's more likely that something close will appear.

But as you've said above, even with a similar layout, the way that it gets 'sat' on the terrain would be different. And then that will make the track a different beast.

I made this track in an attempt to replicate the Nürburgring feeling, and I think most of it does that quite well. The bits which don't are just cool :sly:

Like the 'Ring, this track has long technical combinations and a winding high-speed section.
The end is my favourite part though, as the final bend onto the home straight is 300km/h+ downhill... provided you can handle it.

Apologies for the bad quality, but I just had to show this and it's all I could do.
