Don't get me started on Alfred. DO YOU KNOW HOW BIG A PIMP ALFRED IS? I mean, damn, look at that suit!

LMAO! I was watching classic Batman yesterday and Alfred recommended a restaurant in Gotham which does great Beef Wellington...

That guy is cool as ice! :sly:

I have to admit, I'm split. On the one hand, Batman and Bruce Wayne have been some of my favorite characters for for most of my life, and quite often I find his story more meaningful than that of Tony Stark and Iron Man. But the thing is, after seeing the movie, seeing the characters moving on the screen as opposed to in the pages of the book... Its completely different. I just feel like I can appreciate him a lot more now. Although I did notice that they forgot to include his issue with alcohol abuse...
You missed that in nearly every scene with him builing the suit, he had a drink in his hand? And the Full coffer of Drinks after the weapons test? The Entire time he was in the Humvee, he had a drink in his hand? When you watch it again, look for how many times he has a drink in his hand.

As for really moving on that aspect of his lifestyle, rumors are circulating about it showing up in Iron Man 2 (April 30, 2010) and causing significant impact on the movie.

Oh, and I voted for Batman. He just has the reserve and drive of a Billionaire Superheroe.

Well, I mean I noticed the booze and such but it wasn't something that was causing a problem... What you noted will likely show up in Iron Man 2. In the grand scheme of things though, its not a big deal. I'm essentially prepared to say that Iron Man is the best superhero movie ever, and the bar has been set very high for The Dark Knight.

And Jarvis versus Alfred?

Really?

Its more about Ms. Potts versus Alfred, and in that case, I have to go with Alfred. His off-the-cuff comments are a bit more witty, generally, and I like that. Not to say that it would be bad to have Pepper's pretty face around once in a while..

Well... Ms. Potts can't hold a candle to Alfred, in terms of acting... I mean... Gwyneth Palthrow versus Michael Caine? Serious no contest. :D

Hell yeah! His cuff links have more class than a public school system.

Hmm, I see that for the majority of people here that the judgments are being based purely on the movies. I am an old school comic book guy. For that reason I voted for Tony Stark.

And really, some of you have never heard of Iron Man before now? I don't see how you missed it between comics, video games and action figures.

I mean, Bruce Wayne is cool and all, but his whole hero motivation is that his parents were killed when he was a kid. Someone needs to take off the padded rubber and seek some therapy.

Tony Stark's motivations are to atone for his own mistakes.

Plus, Tony Stark has real character flaws, like alcoholism, that you find in rich people. What's Bruce Wayne's character flaw? Being moody?

By the way, the alcoholism was pointed out in the movie. Aside from constantly having a drink at hand Rhodes even made a comment about him being an alcoholic. They also hinted at the War Machine storyline, which is the result of Tony's alcoholism.

Plus, Batman's villains were always one or two psychotic guys at a time. Iron Man takes on entire armies.

As for not getting why people like Superman; he represents all that is good and just. Also, remember that he didn't start out as this ultimate, nearly invincible being. His early story lines had his powers just being a semi-scientifically justified superior abilities granted by being from a planet with stronger gravity. He didn't fly, he didn't have heat ray and x-ray vision. He was strong, fast, and could jump really high. He seemed invincible because if you have super strong muscles then they will have to be supported by super strong skin and bones. All that other stuff came along as TV shows and whatnot happened and DC incorporated it in using our different kind of solar radiation as an explanation.

Well... the problem with Superman today is that he's evolved into a gigantic boy scout. Just... perfect. Some writers have tried to take him down a peg or two, and have made him more human (yes, there are some very enjoyable Superman stories in print), but you can't ever escape the fact that he is an idealist in an imperfect world.

Batman and Iron Man... well, they're more human, but as you've said, and as i said last page, Batman's story is more iconic and less realistic than Iron Man's. Batman, the character, does not evolve the way Iron Man does. That's an appeal that Marvel characters in general have over DC characters... the ability ot evolve over time, from saint to sinner, from villain to hero...

Heck, that's why I used to read X-Men... it was one gigantic soap opera disguised as a superhero book... but it's real people with real dramas.

Iron Man is appealing because he's human, in more ways than one. Both Tony and Bruce probably have more IQ than they know what to do with, but Tony's intelligence is separate from his humanity. He makes mistakes, and he seems more real because of it.

BW had an Shelby Cobra and a load of other stuff in his garage in the Batman with Jim Carrey. BW is definatley cooler than TS for me.

Tony.

Old school Batman is hilarious, though… made it a very tight contest. ;)

Coming only from the movies (never got into any of the comics)... I gotta go with Tony Stark.

What I love is that he knows how badass it is. It's not just this grave notion of "power and responsibility and justice" for him; it's kind of, you know, fun.

He's a total geek living this geek fantasy, and he's completely aware of it. And he fights for good, but he can't help but be a little vain about it, because how could he resist?

Bruce Wayne is a cool cat, but I think Tony Stark is more interesting to watch.

One thing no one seems to take into account is Bruce is only pretending to be a rich douchbag. How many times have you heard Bruce, refer to himself as batman(otuside costume that is). The fact is, bruce is the shell, the "real mask" for a man who has taken on the embodiment of an ideal through and through, even down to his resolve never to kill, and his hate and refuseal to use guns( out side of the original batman, frank millers version and when he fought the immortal slade) Tony stark on the other hand is a weapons manufacturer who 🤬 around in korea or some other place he shouldnt have been, had to build the suit to stay alive and decided because of the perdicament he was put in, to use it for good. His moral fiber never really changed, he was a douchbag before Ironman, and he's still a douchbag now. remember Bruce is pretending to be what Tony really is(in both comic medium and movie), a womanizing self important prick. Thats why Tony has those cool toys, because he still wants them. Bruce on the other hand isnt attached to anything but his cause. As for a fight in and out of suit, bats vs iron could go either way (look inside batman/ironman fans you know this to be true). Tony vs bruce is really just tony vs bats, and tony get pummeled marine training or not.
