OK, so we all know the Red Bull is the black sheep. Online users hate it, and really it has very little use in game. So I was recently thinking as I was throwing it around the corners of Suzuka on the 1000km endurance race, that we could do a 'time trial' of sorts by ourselves. As a way to give it a chance to be used in game, and compete. Of cause you would be required to have one of the many variations, But that shouldn't be a problem. (I have 2 now :S)

We all know how fast the Red Bull is, but if you've driven one, you also know how hard it is to control.

So if you're interested in competing with other GTplanet users in the fastest car in the game give it a try!

Requirements:

  • Any racing tire
  • Any version of the Red Bull - Please post which one you're using!
  • Suzuka Circuit in clear weather
  • Any tuning allowed
  • Any assists allowed
  • To be included in the leaderboard, please mail me a screenshot (phone captures are acceptable) to help reduce clutter in the thread.

If I haven't made anything clear, please just ask.

Feel free to post your tunes used and please also state whether you've used the DS3 or a wheel.

This should be posted here. 👍

No it shouldn't. It's a Time Trial, & as such should be posted here. However, seeing as the TT & Spot Race forum only ever gets a handfull of views each day, it's probably wiser to leave it here in an effort to reach more people.

👍

Anyway guys, I'm up for it, what track? And how will results be posted and verified? Camera phone / screenshots of the time?

Screenshots would be preferable. In order to keep the thread cleaner, I'd prefer all screenshots/verifications to be mailed to me, and I'll update the OP.

I could be interested. X2010 or 11?

I'm in for anything with X1s. The 2011 has 1635 hp, so restrict to only 1 model year perhaps.

Save replays and post in thread.

Can't do it strictly on saved replays, because not everybody can share a replay.

(Am I able to use the saved replay files from others PS3s and load it onto my PS3 to view? If so, that would be a preferable method.)

Any X1 can be used. It's an open field. I shouldn't think an extra 80bhp will make that much of a difference, but obviously when viewing the records, that can be taken into account.

As said in the OP, track will be suzuka circuit. You need to do it in normal (Clear) weather, with any type of racing tyres. I'm open as to how you'd like to get your results, either on a track in a standard race with many other cars, or in practice mode with no other cars. entirely upto you. assists can be whatever you choose. Whatever helps you drive better.

But it's good to see people showing an interest in this.

And just to throw it out there, so far I've gotten a 1:11:447 time :)

And just as an added bonus, (which probably will hold no incentive what so ever), I'll throw in a prize car to the winner.

Happy racing guys, and I look forward to seeing your times! :)

It isn't hard to control. It's the best-handling car in the game. The trouble comes from the driver not being as fast as the car. The car can perform at a rate that requires you to think and move several times faster than normal. You pretty much have to be hopping on some sort of medication to operate at its level.

Oh, you've met some of my friends then! ;)

On topic, this is with tyre wear, correct? If so, are there any limitations on fuel load? Also, I'd recommend restricting it to offline practise because any cutting will cause a red time, making it a lot easier to spot people who care too much about winning.

Going to try this out right now. I haven't been doing much X1 in a long time so not expecting much more than having some fun. My money is on mistersafeway! I was informed that in real life he is a test driver for Red Bull.

Open up practice, start and BOOM

I used to do 59s before the update. Not sure what I can do now with some tuning and practice. Anyway, second lap with no aids or tire wear, 1:02.482

Yeah. It's a pain :D

You can use tyre wear if you like. Same with fuel.

Im keen for this. *Fires up X2010* Been looking for a reason to use it for a while now...

Yep. Which is why I decided to finally do something with it :D

My X2010 has over 30k kms and 50+ changes :sly:

25,000 kms and 10 changes :D

19,138.7km and 143 changes

Sitting on a 1:08.321 currently. Verification sent to Hanibal... Not bad for nearly 2am. Heaps more time to be found though...

Awesome. Received and will update the OP soon.

Is there a decision on tire/fuel wear?

What ever you prefer, I honestly prefer tire wear, I seem to get better times on worn tires :D

Are we running 2010 or 11?

Either, its your pick. I decided to not restrict it, because not everybody has the same Red Bull.

OP updated with current times provided by competitors. Sorry I can't do anything fancier, but it will do.

On that note, I have no idea how you guys got those times :D I'm having trouble getting 1.10
