ahhh cr@p.

Several times already happened that when trying to go to the online mode and playing rooms section, game freezes when clicking the button, and it stays in the main menu forever and you cant move the pointer anymore :ill: and also when you try to close the game, the PS3 forces a "bad" shut down, which means the system checks for corrupted data when restarting... Sooooo annoying!

I had issues with the game freezing after many races (oddly only when I came second!) before I installed updates, however try to eject the disc rather than just power down. It will still shut down or reboot, but will not check the file system. I suggest this to anyone else having issues with the game freezing too :)

Weight distribution on the Lexus IS350 GT300 car is 53:47 despite being an mid engined car.

I don't think a car being mid-engined means it necessarily has perfect 50:50 weight distribution?

Said this before but not in OP:

Bathurst on and offline - all sound dissapears or fades in out, sfx and music alike.

Bathurst / Ascari online - track stuck loading all time with the dots in the lobby preview window. If sound glitch is happening at Bathurst PS3 may freeze up. If sound is gone when exiting lobby this may apply to after when you go try another race or menu.

Anyone else have any sound problems with the BRZ S when installing a turbo?

I ask because I took my BRZ for a run and thought the engine sounds had dropped out and couldn't figure out why so I bought another BRZ to see if the car itself was bugged. Turns out installing a turbo screws with the cars audio regardless of which exhaust is installed.

In fairness it does kind of do that in real life.

Well out of curiosity, I tested it all the exhausts with and without a turbo and here's the results.

Stock Exhaust, No turbo= Factory sound.
Sports Exhaust, No turbo= same as my NA GT 86.
Ran them again with the turbo and the sound completely dropped away at the back like the car suddenly turned electric.

I ran the Semi and Racing exhausts with and without turbos and got the same results.

The Race Exhaust is the best example I got, without the turbo it sounded like the BRZ GT300 car and with the turbo It had the same results as all the other exhausts, zero sound.

Edit: just double checked my turbo'd FRS and GT 86 R and they haven't had this problem so it's just on the BRZ S.

I think it may be a case of, if the car has a Turbo stock then uprating the Turbo will do little to change the sound, but if the car doesn't have a Turbo and you stick one on it, PD may not have tested to see what the car sounds like with a Turbo on it. There for they just muffle it a bit. One of my mates stuck a turbo onto a Civic Type R in real life (did other stuff too) and it changed from being a really screamy, raspy engine sound to the same, just a lot quieter.

It still doesn't explain why it happens with the BRZ and not the FRS or GT86 because there's no audio loss when turbos are added to either of them and all 3 cars are pretty much the same mechanically speaking.

Exactly, with above post ^, all 3 engines are flat fours, so you can't expect the Civic to be a good representation as the Civic is an inline 4 as compared to the boxer engines from the FRS, BRZ, and GT86

Got you, sorry, thought you had just tested it on the BRZ and the GT300 (which I thought was Turbo'd). It's wiered that it's happening on the BRZ and not the GT86.

I don't think that the type of engine would make a difference. If you stuck a turbo on a V6 it'd still muffle it compared to what it would be like without - but that's not what Vic Reign93 is saying.

For some reason, while using the '70 Nova SS with a custom transmission, the game will downshift right before it allows you to apply throttle on a rolling start. Right after the timer reaches "1", it will downshift automatically. Many times, this will send you straight into the rev-limiter and make you lose a second or two right from the start. I don't know if this happens with other cars, but it's the only car I've seen it happen with so far. The only time it doesn't do it, is on a track that doesn't allow you to roll start faster than 1st gear, which is obviously because it can't downshift lower than 1st.

I hope this gets fixed because I like running my Nova on classic muscle tracks.

Umm never said it was meant to be 50:50??
But shouldn't a car with the engine in the rear be heavier in the rear? Like I don't now having a weight distribution of say 47:53 not the other way around??? Hmmm??

In an online lobby if you filter by category and choose GT300 or GT500, it limits you to those cars, but there is no HP limit and you cannot set it.

Not sure if this has been posted already: I use a Logitech G27, and with some cars the gear stick and clutch don't work when fitting a full customizable gearbox.
So far I have only seen this happening in the Ruf RGT, Ruf CTR 2 and Toyota AE86 Trueno.

DC2 ITR should be 63:37 Weight Distribution, EK9 and other Honda FFs (probably not FD2), should be 60:40, AE86 and Supra Mark IV should be 53:47.

It ONLY does that to Standard cars unfortunately :(

Hi folks, my first post is not what I planned but since yesterday my log in bonus has gone down from 200% on 31st Dec 13, to 170% on the 1st Jan 14 and has now gone down again to 150% - what's going on?

I'm signed in, I can race online...tbh I'm out of ideas so is anyone also having this problem?

Cheers

Welcome to GTP!
Every time you logged on, did you ever save? I heard sometime if you don't save, it doesn't count as a "log in".

Not really a glitch but a mistake.

When you go to free run mode at your garage, Cote d'Azur has the french flag, and its not french, but from Monaco which is an independent country.

well even when I was not been able to sign in on GT5, if I had done a manual save then I carried my 200% log in bonus on to the following day. Therefore I have always manually saved on GT6 too...weird stuff going on because it obvoiusly connects me to the network so that I can race online

:irked:

Considering you need a license to actually refer to it as Monaco, I imagine its flag could not be used either. Thus, France.

Does anyone else have a problem where measurements are in mm, but says they are inches? as in the Mazda Axela which is apparently 4,540 inches long, 1745 inches wide, and 1465 inches tall

Yesterday was racing in the GT championship under IB section.

The cars had to be fitted with Racing hards or less for participation. Racing tyres which are supposed to give the best grip & traction, made my SLS AMG car slide as if on Banana peels.

From the 3rd race in the championship onwards, I swapped to Sports Softs, which gave way better grip.

Hence, SPORTS SOFTS are better than RACING HARDS.:banghead:

Street cars behave drastically different with slicks on then with just Sports tires. They aren't built to use slicks, and slicks in real life on street cars behave the same as it would in game. Slicks just mean you have to be more precise, that or the tire modeling is bugged!

Never, this is impossible. Check out your laptimes with both types of tyres.

Sports softs maybe makes the car more gentle and predictable, but faster? Never. Racing tyres are always faster.
