Not 100% sure I will be able to race in the next one, I have papers I have to write. I can drive the pace car if I can't compete though. I should know by Wednesday if I can race or not.

Seido, I have to insist that March 30th is a Friday!!!....or there's something really odd going on....

(R) (PENDING) (in-game track time 7:00pm. Time Rate: 2)
Event will open at approx. 12:25pm.
Drivers are to ready their cars in the pit lane for the Q session.

12:25 AEDT is 2:25 British Summer Time (our clocks just went forward). This is probably manageable for me 👍

I show the 30th as a friday too. The two best windows for me, as far as start times go, are 2 pm to 5 pm aedt on the 31st (which would be the 30th for me) or the same time as the last race.

No, again it's track time, in-game. And the date is Saturday the 30th.

Uhh, not in March then? Saturday is the 31st of March, and Friday is the 30th of March. The next Saturday the 30th, on my calendar, is March 2013, so just to clarify, is it the 30th or Saturday?

I do apologise gentlemen, The race will be Saturday the 31st of March 2012 haha

for the moment the opening time for the event is 3pm AEDT, but that may change depending on everyone's preference.

Just letting you guys now that my internet will be getting turned off on the 31st but not sure of the time exactly. So, sorry if I get booted in the middle of something or can't make any replies.
I'll be back online sometime soon after the 4th.

Cheers.

Considering that you know an outage will occur on the 31st, why not move it to the 1st, or the 30th? It'd already delayed minorly, surely a further delay wouldn't be that bad? Just throwing the idea out there.

My net will get turned off FROM the 31st (at some point) then I move house on the 4th, so can't do untill after the 4th.
Can't do it on Friday unless some of you want to start the race at about midnight (at the earliest) Sydney time.
I'm trying to squeeze it in as the last one before I move. If I get disconnected during the race then so be it. You guys can race on!

Works for me, but i'll only be 5-8am in the US (and 1pm in the UK).

Maybe call your ISP and confirm that it'll be after business hours or something? that the net gets cut? Just brainstorming to make sure your net is all good the race - good luck with the move btw, you'll have to re/post your man cave once you've settled in! 👍

Anyway, I don't think the above time will be good. The guys from UK and US probably won't be able to race as they will most likely be getting ready for work or at work.

I'm not moving to AUS just yet, first moving to my wife's hometown for a bit.
So from there, I'll be hosting more races until I finally move on to AUS.

Guys, I would like to hear some more confirmations if you can race or not. Where are the rest of the usual Caterham crew? looking forward to racing with you guys.

To the others I haven't raced with yet, I would like to run at least one prac session or race with you, ok. If you can manage to do that or your driving isn't up to standard I can't let you participate in the main race.

Thanks.

I should practice with so few days til the event (if it's still happening?) I think I could manage somewhere between 9-9:30 around the ring, anything under 9 in this car would be a stretch (I think). Having said that, I've had lots of experience around the ring recently in slow slow cars, and those laps were about 11:50-12mins, so the caterham might be harder to get ust to, or simply much easier/faster.

What time should we be aiming for as a minimum to be competitive?

myself, 9:11.

Yes, I think you really should start to practice. It took me much tweaking of the car for it to feel good on the ring.

Knocked up 320 laps of the Ring just the other day (Just GT5)

320 laps! wha?! 9x320 = 2880 mins / 60 = 48 hours of driving! That must've taken... -.- you meant to say 32 laps didn't you...

Ah, well the fact you said 'the other day' and it was days and days worth of driving (I hope). Really? 320 laps to get the car set up? I was thinking... maybe a dozen or so?

No, I didn't say in this car either haha. I wrote it in a new paragraph.
320 laps is my over all count since I started gt5

Good news! Made only 2 stacks this time, and brought it in 45 seconds quicker than before at... 9:45. Even without the stacks, I'm going to struggle to find that last...10-15 seconds I think, I'll see, I'm trying out all sorts of tunes to see which I'm the most comfortable with, but I think if I get in a 9:20, I'll be pretty happy.

EDIT 1: As I suspected, a completely different tune, and I managed a 9:30 (9:34, but I made a small error, which cost me about 3-4 seconds from my ghost gap). Yep, the last 10-20 seconds will be difficult.

Too late/early for me .... it's about 5am British Summer Time.
Great new pic....
9:14 is my best .... in quali last time.
The best music is the singing of the engine!!

Great, thanks guys!

Jim, if everyone is happy to move the time later 2hrs or so then would it be possible for you?

Just checking, 12:25AEDT + 2 hours? 2:25AEDT? Tonight or Saturday night (as in, Saturday or Sunday morning?).

Considering it is the weekend, even if it were that time I'd probably still be alright for it, just want to know exactly what time it is.

It's on Saturday the 31st at 3:00pm AEDT (thought the time may get pushed back by 2 or more hours depending on Morphic and the others)

Hmm, ok, wonder where I had 12am from, ah the practice session, right.

3pm, 5pm, makes little difference to me, I'll just have the keep the beers in the fridge a bit longer (and for this race, drink only afterwards for completion! Can't afford a drop at my pace yet :D).
