Could I please ask @skeagracing for some clarification of schoolwork marking. This may be well known to others, in which case just point me to the discussion and I'll go read that.

I have just done my homework, great fun, but I don't really know what I am striving for.

My question regards the marking/scoring criteria. I know "Clean racing" is the foremost criteria. Personally, I wouldn't put in an entry where I collided with another car or the scenery. I haven't watched too many others videos but the ones I have seen also looked perfect. I have occasionally cut a bit of grass without losing control though - does this count against me?

Does the total time count for
A) nothing
B) foremost criteria after cleanliness
C) somewhere in the mix - if so where?

e.g. Could I have loads of goes making insane overtaking moves that nobody would ever try in real life - but for one magic lap they all work out fine and that's the one I film - Fastest time, but obvioulsy a lap showing 1 lucky nutter (not the 99 dead nutters)?

If I drove like I would in real life, it would be ultra safe - but I prob wouldn't even come first. I would also be ultra courteous to the AI drivers.

I saw a thread on here somewhere about gentlemanly racing - cant find it now, but it made a lot of sense. Are these the rules?

Is a certain amount of derring-do rewarded or penalised?

If an AI driver acts like a dick and rams me, does that count against me?

Would tappping the horn to warn other drivers you are there count for extra marks?

I am not expecting H-shift to be rewarded because others might not have it, but will it be offset against a slower time to make up for the extra control of clutch and box etc? - sometimes I heel and toe to set up a corner by block downshifting and preventing the rear drive wheels from locking up.

Are good racing lines rewarded?

Are drifts rewarded?

Are there any marks for stylistic interpretation? - sometimes If I am extremely chuffed with a race (well out in front) I will pull the handbrake to cross the line backwards - I'm assuming that would sent me straight into detention.... but I just don't know for sure!

Cheers

Do the school and all your questions will be answered. Take a picture at the end of the race. And when you film the race make sure that you have the sound on. Also I would like to have the fast lap. Thank you for asking.

Thanks. I will send video along with some notes. By pure luck there are a few examples of what I was talking about, so I will point them out with timecodes.

I could be that you just watch them all and pick your favourite. Which would also be fine. I'm sure you don't sit there with a scoresheet for each one. The last thing I want to do is start squabbles on who deserved what points!!

Yes, I do sit there with a scoresheet for each one. I even have one for "does it look like a real race on TV"!

911 ...... Is that the police number at USA ?
I did school yesterday ,save the replay and just need the other stuff ,film , upload etc.
I also have a testing replay which has my set up at the end if anyone is interesting about it .
Can't say that me and the " bird" are on equal terms but at least i have the control over his " singing ".

There is an expression here ( Athena might knows ) : I'll take the mountains !!!!
Which deffinetly applies to you since you leave no mountain lately
We are in danger to suffer from vertigo with all this up and down :D

Have a good weekend guys

Good morning guys ,might escape work today but the curse " early in the morning" still applies .

Quarantine days for me ( till 7/1/2021  ) and nothing smell Christmas here and it's not gonna change under these circumstances .
GT 7 has a long way to cover until his release and ps5 is getting even worst since the availability remains at zero level globally.
Div 1 here remains almost empty and div 2 suffering also.
Hope everybody to be ok , present and non present and hope some of them to join us again since we have at least 6 months ( i believe more than this) till GT 7 hit the road.
Hopefully Noel's school lessons and his choices heat up things a bit but still isn't enough .
Looking forward for better days and hope for some comebacks .
Back to ours now .
@Thematic must doing something wrong at no tune , don't know if he run this aids off but definitely his entry didn't represent his potential .
Why am saying this ?
Cause yesterday i try it with enough errors or delays on first lap ( didn't want to mess up the paint  ) and i was full uncut version finding my self 10 sec. faster  .
First lap 1.43 quite high and the rest at 1.40 high with faster lap 1.40 low as you can see at my vid .

I even checked the tyres but are SH for this race so am definitely on the right settings.
He must have a good reason for his entry time and he owns an explanation on that cause i refuse to believe he couldn't go faster .
By the way ,i decide to stick on uncut version this round and since there's a room for improvement I'll keep it that way when ill try it back.

Unfortunately this hub will close when GT7 arrive officially at the market.
The plan ( i guess ) is to continue at GT7 after a while .
How much will be the " while" i don't know ,what i know is that needed :
Have a ps5
Have GT7 ( thats easier if you have ps5 )
And last to be familiar with the content of the game ,make some kind of progress that needed etc.
As far as i know " Boss" already pre-order a ps5 and probably it will be from the first of the gang that he will play gt7 when he arrives , i will wait a bit to get them both as a package when they are available which mean ill be at the new hub later ( as a player always) but deffinetly ill follow " boss" in his new subject After all i " hate " him so much that's inevitable to leave him away from me :D

Well I wont be going to GT7/PS5 anytime soon, perhaps ever if they don't support multiscreen. Judging from what they did to GT6 online, it will be offline by the time I can afford multiple PS5s.
So I will prob go to PC eventually, but I will not be getting rid of my PS3s and GT6s, so I will be here as long as there is at least 1 other person to race against.
Anyone else planning on sticking around post GT7?

The car is in trouble if it is even close to going airborne.

- I have enough junk, not going to get a console that is a hypermarketed custom peasea. And PC sims are just not available in an acceptable* way, perhaps because of trademark. Even though about twenty years ago, in general terms, you could get a box with a game that had a number of third party names attached to the product, never mind the platform.

¹ Live for Speed is, but its scope seems rather limited.

As @smoothbore12 said, the challenge hub will be going over to gt7 when it comes out (not anytime soon by the looks of it).
If there are people staying on gt6 I'm happy for someone to take over the gt6 challenge hub.
