I don't know of another method, but if you go in Photo Mode right after finishing a race and then press the right stick (R3?) you can watch the last 2 minutes of the race. I'm using that for photograph rival cars.
The replay system is actually quite good, if it weren't for the nasty sound bug that your gear almost always is getting stuck in 1st gear during the replay.

For those who aren't already aware, the Roffo Red Line tyre is one of the meta options. It moves the wheels farther apart, making the car handle better. It's available in the TCM shop this week for 10k crew credits, so I bought it, as I had enough from the crew credits available for free in-game from doing challenges. I'll post some images later to show how you can compare it against other tyres, but it makes the wheels wider than any other tyre I have. Red StormX and French Touch are the best of the rest of what I have.

Edit: Okay, just had time to make some images. To replicate this, change the tyre for the Nomad Rally Raid vehicle, and move the right stick up and to the right until the view stops moving. You should then see the exact same image as these. On the top one, I've added a red arrow to show where to look. You can see that the tyre is moving the location of where the suspension attaches to the body, making some tyres give wider wheel separation than others. I don't know just how much difference it makes to times, I'm not consistent enough to replicate my times all that accurately anyway, but maybe I'll try Roffo Red Line vs UFO some time.

Just wondering, I think I've seen the game tell something about 4 months of content right when logging in after the expansion notification.

Does that mean we'll have 4 months of street racing based content?

@breeminator Akorr did a list of the best tires to use while Trigger (Militia Gaming) did one explaining how to test it properly. Maybe it could help. Personally I can't feel enough difference and I'm not consistent enough to benefit, but he can run a second faster and that is a lot for a fast driver.

Didn't noticed that. I don't think we will see anything other the 2 pass cars in December. Maybe a new playlist in January? Hope I'm wrong.

Wow, I beat Trigger, and I didn't even watch a video to see the cuts/resets, I worked out my own way of doing it, though I have done this route in a previous summit and I did it a fair bit in custom mode when the new leaderboards launched.

However, I have no idea how the top time of 2:33 is possible!

Great work! I wonder if prestige tickets will affect the participation in summits? (I used to do summits weekly) but I'd rather earn the cars in custom mode as Ive run out of shop cars to buy now. Summits are the only time I get annoyed with the game this weeks slalom with the excessive traffic was genuinely terrible.

Is it possible to get enough prestige tickets from custom mode to buy everything available? Custom mode feels like a bit of a grind due to the workflow, as it doesn't put you back to the custom mode page after you do an event, so it's much less slick than main stage legacy where you can just instantly move on to the next event. So I enjoy custom mode for doing the same event multiple times to try to get a good time, but doing each event once with each vehicle type feels a bit painful.

Re the slalom, with a score breaker set it doesn't matter for getting platinum as you get almost maximum summit points just plodding along carefully. But the traffic is RNG, I got a completely traffic free run within about 10 attempts. You can also try to find a quiet time of day - the game is on a 24 hour cycle every hour, so on the hour is always midnight in the game, Trigger seems to do a lot of his feat performances when it's night in the game, but I've found it can still be pretty quiet for traffic for a short period after sunrise.

Right now you need 27k for 6 cars and 14k for all the vanities. If you complete every event you should be having 70k. But yeah it's a huge grind. The good thing is that you get money and exp. I finished 12 playlists so far and got 47k prestige and leveled up to lv130.
I always start each race in Motocross bike then chose faster vehicles as I progress trough all the classes. As soon as the race ends I press pause (reconfigure?) which takes you to the start menu. Then I select the next class. It's the most efficient way but it's still a grind. Completing races in each class takes 40 minutes to an hour. And you have 6-9 races per playlist. 22 playlists. It's a lot.

The game was on sale for black Friday, so I decided to get it. Unfortunately, I went into it with a bad attitude because the >100 hours I spent painting in the The Crew 2 were a waste without the ability to transfer my liveries. It's still a joke to me that they just don't seem to care at all about creators. We don't get paid when our liveries get downloaded, we can't transfer paints between games (which Forza has been doing since before The Crew 1 released), and it sounds like the paint shop in this game is a mess. So I am probably done painting in these games.

The map is very pretty but feels too much like a sterile playground for cars. Even though pretty much everyone hates TDU Solar Crown, I gotta say that they made an extremely good map that feels like a real place and even makes driving slowly feel intense. Driving at 200 mph in this game just feels kinda boring.

I'm also sad that we lost the garage space to be able to walk around and see our cars. I guess my gripes aren't too huge, and as I make progress in the game, I'm sure there will be more things that I like. But I'm definitely done painting, and I don't see this game holding my attention for as long as The Crew 2 did

Edit: I decided I needed a Gulf livery for my Porsche 917, and oh boy the livery editor is bad. Pretty much every part of it is worse. The big grey bar covers a third of the screen. The controls are both way too sensitive and have way too much deadzone, so it's impossible to make tiny adjustments to the layers. And grouping layers together is awful. You used to be able to hold a button and scroll over lots of layers to group them all together. Now you have to individually press the button on top of every single layer to group them. I don't understand how they were able to make it so much worse. Like someone had to make these changes deliberately. Sadly, this is not worth the effort and leaves a sour taste in my mouth about the whole game. And considering how long the game has been out, these things won't change. So I will probably not be giving this one much attention.

There's an interview with the devs on the official discord that gives the impression the games were developed separately by two teams, so TCM wasn't developed by starting with the TC2 code base. That's why TC2 has the ability to create custom races but TCM doesn't, they can't just copy the code for it into TCM.

Obviously they have shared many of the concepts at the design stage, such as the concepts of how the parts work, but that's why so many specific details are different between the two games.

However, you can transfer cars from TC2 to TCM, and it's a continuous process, so you can keep playing TC2 and any new cars you obtain will be added to your collection in TCM. That's a feature I like that isn't in Forza, the games each have their pros and cons.

I bought a second copy of TCM last night as it was on sale, to experience the game as a completely new player with nothing to transfer from TC2. For people who want to dive straight into the Summit, it's a brutal experience, as you need so many credits to get the required cars, but at the same time, you don't have any legend points or parts to help with the earning of credits. But for someone who is willing to be patient and just enjoy the journey, I felt it provided a good new player experience, though it will depend which playlist you choose to start with.

Right now you need 27k for 6 cars and 14k for all the vanities. If you complete every event you should be having 70k.
I'm just thinking that there must be a huge amount of stuff that is yet be added to the prestige ticket shop, and that the cost of getting everything is going to grow much faster than the number of playlists to earn prestige tickets will grow.

They will probably add other ways to earn tickets in my opinion. Let's say each season cost 20k (3 cars, 5 vanities). You would need 80k a year. Let's assume we can get 5 playlists a year that is about 20k. You still need to play Summits to get additional points. And that gives you only 8-9k.
Maybe they will eventually start bringing back old Summits like in TC2?

While that may be true, and I don't want to toss the devs under the bus, The Crew 2's livery editor hadn't been altered since release. And Motorfest was originally developed as a DLC for TC2, so it has to be compatible with TC2 in terms of the underlying mechanics. On top of that, most of the features of the livery editor are the same, they just work generally worse. So I don't really understand how all of these changes happened. I'm sure the livery editor works well for some people, I just don't think I have the energy to learn a new system.

As @grooks10 said, TCMF's library editor is basically the same as TC2's.
The only difference is that the UI is bigger and more intrusive. And the livery editor is now just as prone to crashing as FM7's livery editor. And it's also been "improved" to a system where players have to select layers one by one when creating layer groups. </s>

I gave up and started making liveries with TCMF, but I can understand his feelings.

And Motorfest was originally developed as a DLC for TC2, so it has to be compatible with TC2 in terms of the underlying mechanics.
While it started out with the intent of being DLC for TC2, it says here that it became a separate game because they wanted to do things that were not compatible with the TC2 engine:

“We started with the conception to make sure that the progression and the way it was working with the activation of playlists with IRL footage, working events and the overall progression. [This was] not compatible with the main game [The Crew 2].”
So at some point the underlying tech became separate, I don't think it's possible to say what code is shared or not shared. Just because an element looks almost identical doesn't mean it wasn't re-implemented from scratch. I know someone who was contracted to port a console game to PC a long time ago and he was just given a console with the game, and told to write the same thing for PC, he had no access to the console code, so that sort of thing does happen.

On a separate subject, I've been trying to get platinum in the summit on a brand new account that hasn't played TC2, using loan vehicles for the 3 events that need specific vehicles, i.e. my aim was to not buy the bundle as it's 1.8m credits, and my feeling is that a new player really isn't going to want to spend that in-game money on 3 cars that are unlikely to be used much after this week. I can crew up with myself to do the events with loan vehicles as I have 2 PCs. I think I've probably managed to get platinum now, I'm on 1267k, which is in the top 8000. The game launchers say I've played for 14-15 hours to do that, so I feel like even that is probably more than the vast majority of new players would be willing to do in their first week of getting the game. What did I do in that time?
1. I picked the Honda starter car and did the 911 Legacy playlist.
2. I used the Porsche Timeless edition reward car to grind the GP event till I had all parts at 750.
3. Having done that, I had enough money to buy the bundle for the Ocean n Sky playlist, which got me a plane and boat. I played through that playlist.
4. I bought the bundle for Electric Odyssey, choosing that playlist because it has a hypercar reward car, and also gives access to the Hummer E-xpress event. I played through that playlist.
5. I used the Evija Pure Edition reward car to grind Hummer E-xpress to get my hypercar to max number parts.
6. I used the Frauscher Demon to grind Yacht Surfin' to get my powerboat to max number parts.
7. I used merge and recalibrate to get myself pink parts with 6+% skilled for hypercar and powerboat.
8. I used hypercar for the slalom, and hypercar+powerboat for the bullseye, and the pink parts with skilled let me get decent scores for those.
9. The Porsche Timeless Edition is reasonable for the Power event when the parts are at 750.
10. I couldn't get a very good time with the Evija for the hypercar event, so I bought the T50, which I was willing to do as I feel it would be a great long term purchase for a new player, and it's a cheap hypercar. I went 6 seconds quicker than I did with the Evija.
11. For the speed trap, I used a hypercar, as it's painful grinding dragster parts. I did a fair bit of flying around with the plane for treasure crates to open with the dragster. If I hadn't bothered with that, my summit score would be the same, so I think it would probably be possible for a new player to get platinum in more like 10 hours, as I did some other things that didn't end up being used, too.

I'm above 1400k on my main account, the biggest score killers are the speed trap and the Ford GT event. My score is 50k lower with the Ford GT loan car and no legend points. I think the speed trap might be also around 50k lower.

One thing I discovered is that you can merge 3 blues to 1 pink even if only one of the blues is max number. So if you keep all the parts as you're levelling up a vehicle, you almost certainly can make a max number pink as soon as you have just one max number blue. This made it extremely easy to get a full set of pinks for each vehicle type.

I did all that because I was going to get a friend to play the game a bit with me, but there's no way he'd want to do more than maybe an hour a week, and also he's much less skilled than me at driving, so I can see now that there's no way he's getting platinum in a summit, and I'd have to plan more long term, like do 1 playlist a week for 3 weeks to get access to main stage, then maybe level up one vehicle category a week to get the main categories levelled up etc.

I've been trying to get platinum in the summit on a brand new account that hasn't played TC2
Funny I tried a similar thing this Summer. What a lot of players underestimate are loot boxes. They spawn every 4 minutes on a specific location. It is random but they all spawn within 60 fixed locations(Oahu). It's a lot but you can check those locations from the map directly and treasure sniffer works on the entire map. Once you know where to look is easy to find a purple box in a minute.
You can max out any class in hours and since the RNG favors the loot digger set you will get that easy while score breaker and nitro chemist are usually last to come. Not a rule because I got nitro chemist on Demolition first.
It's still a grind.

Do we have an ETA on the next playlist from IVT? :D
We know that last month theme was Racers vs Chasers, December is Motorfest Remixes. So Dec looks like they are taking a little break.
Now the theme for January is Island Rush (Oahu vs Maui). It could fit a Scenic Tour vol.2?
February theme is Thunderstruck (ICE vs EV). Electric Odyssey vol.2?
I'm just guessing but I think we will see something in January. But then an electric theme in February also make sense. Would prefer some more bike love from Ivy... 😊

Edit: @WanganDream it's from a leak 2 months ago.

With a few hours left, 10000th in the Summit is 1274k, so the 1267k I had on my new alt account isn't enough. I have increased it to around 1295k by getting my dragster up to max level, hopefully that's enough. I have to say, getting platinum with only pink parts and loan vehicles is pretty tough. I was top 600 earlier today on my main account, but I'm barely scraping platinum on the alt with 3 loan vehicle events and pink parts only.

Not all my cars have gold sets yet, so I'm grinding with what I have. I do use Loot sets during Custom Mode, so that should help.

I wonder what the update cycle for the Prestige Shop is?

I thought they would update it at same time as the Summit list but, apparently that is not the case.

None of the current offerings appeal to me besides the Camaro that I bought earlier.

Waiting for the R34...

I think they said that the Prestige Shop would update every few months, don't remember the exact length.

EDIT:
It's a two season gap.

@Savolainen83 updates should be:
Weekly: Main stage challenges
Monthly: Main Stage (+legacy)
2 months: New Playlist (not a guarantee)
3 months: New Season (Prestige shop update)

I played through the Made In Japan 2 playlist on my alt account last night, to unlock rivals so I can then get the Alfa Rivals Edition for the Summit, and noticed one of the leaderboards has almost half a million players on it. That's a pretty big number of recent players, as all those people must have done that event in the last month.

Edit: A day later, having obtained the Giulia GTAm Rival Edition on both accounts, I used it for the Summit event. It was interesting to see the time difference between main and alt accounts. Main account has enough legend points to max out everything that affects performance. Alt account only has 40, which I put on iron grip and pure. Main account has a full maxed out nitro chemist set, alt account has a full 750 pink set with pure and extra pump close to maxed out. The time difference was 9 seconds, 6:04 (just outside the top 200) vs 6:13. I did the race several times with each account after learning the track, and did multiple runs that were +/-0.5 seconds, so I'm pretty sure that's the difference the parts and legend points made rather than driving randomness. I used automatic gears, but I think manual would be noticeably quicker if you short shift into a long gear on the longer straights so you can continuously apply the nitro for longer.

Edit 2: Okay, I was wrong about manual vs automatic. The Giulia GTAm Rival Edition doesn't respond very well to nitro in longer gears, especially uphill. Add in the fact that it has 8 gears, and that it needs downshifting mid corner on some corners, and it's pretty tough to use manual gears. After about 10 attempts at the event where you can use any Alfa, I shaved just 0.1 seconds off my best auto gears time, and it took a heck of a lot more mental effort to plan how to use the gears and nitro at every point in the lap. I then went back to auto and went almost a full second quicker than the manual time.

I've got a noob question.

For the Bullseye feats you need a car and a plane but my game doesn't seem to change it so it stays a car, how can you get it to change? Is it something you have to unlock?

You click the right stick and it puts an overlay on screen to show the buttons to switch between car, plane and boat. You need to own a plane, and then the triangle or Y button will switch to plane. It's actually quite tricky to control the plane for that feat.

To get a good score, you need the skilled affix on all 3 of legend points, car parts and plane parts.

I really enjoyed this week's summit, and the game has been free to play on all platforms this week, so maybe some new players enjoyed it too.

However....... I think it has actually been a tough summit for new players. For starters, if someone wants to obtain the Guilia Rival Edition car, you have to play through two playlists and then beat 5 rivals, and it's pretty time consuming to do that without fast travel. Then the events really need the iron grip affix. Even with pink parts with maxed out iron grip and 20 legend points on iron grip, the 3rd lap of the stint in the longest races is a big struggle. For the Hanauma 500 event, I did 6:58 on my main account, vs 7:10 with pink parts. And it's going to be quite a grind for a new player to get the credits for a T50, get it up to max performance number, and get enough spare parts and bucks to make a set of pink parts with iron grip just for tyre wear races.

Overall, I got 1374k on my main account, just outside the top 200. With pink parts I got 1308k, around 2500th. But I think very few new players trying the game for free are going to be willing to spend the time needed to even have that pink parts experience, and the level of car control needed to get through that 3rd lap without the extra iron grip is going to be beyond the skill of many players, so they might do 2 stops instead and be a lot slower.

So, while I enjoyed the summit a lot, I feel it just requires too much time investment from new players. Dealing with the tyre wear was great fun, though, reminds me of trying to deal with the Gr.3 NSX when I went with Honda in the GT Sport Manufacturers Championship. The cars become oversteery with tyre wear in the same way, so I was taking progressively straighter lines out of corners.

The manual with clutch thing is a bit annoying, too. I watched a YouTuber do some of the races, and his times are significantly quicker than mine despite his driving containing some pretty obvious errors. He uses a manual with clutch hack, and has a video showing how to do this, and the difference it makes to acceleration. He can just nitro through gear shifts whereas I have to pause the nitro while shifting otherwise I'm massively slower. I don't want to use the hack myself because all of the options appear to have some drawbacks that require constant messing about, and I feel like it would take the fun out of the game. I feel like this just shouldn't be a thing in the game at all. Same for the fact you can do the events in a convoy, and there's no chance of matching a convoy time solo.
