The Crew: Wild Run Edition

I'm leaving at noon today to go home and play this, I was supposed to take the whole day off to play this but I somehow forgot and came in to work today. May as well work at least a half day since I drove into a storm to get here.

Hopefully, the power doesn't go out today, we are expecting wind gusts up to 60 Mph (96 kph)

Even without buying the expansion, you can test drive bikes from the bike store in St. Louis.
Which also put an end to my considerations about getting Wild Run - I was already having a difficult enough time really having fun with the car handling in this game, but the bikes (much like the cars) just feel utterly lifeless after playing DriveClub Bikes.

The saving grace for me with The Crew was the huge open world. But even with the graphical upgrade (rain looks pretty nice, though has no or little effect on visibility, and the same for handling - and I don't think I really notice that many other differences unless I'm comparing side to side videos or screenshots with the old version) it's just not enough for me when the actual driving falls too far short of what I want.

7 gigs? I have over 7 gigs on my PS4 and I can't download the update.
If it's anything like PS3 you need double the required space.

Also, according to reddit they nerfed the the quality of parts won from skill events.

+edit
5 platinum skills completed, won a lvl 31 gold performance part, 2 Rear bumper parts, one hood part, one sticker.

How the **** am I supposed to get **** above lvl 40 now?

Really happy I didn't impulse buy wild run. If I don't find a way to get high level parts for my cars soon I'm unistalling. Absolutely stupid.

I heard it's easier if you try earning them through story missions.

Also I just want to point out that I'm not getting the wild run until Christmas.

Good gawd the RX7 is just glorious in this game, both full stock and performance are just loads of fun. I made a beeline straight for the BRZ and then the Mazda shortly after. The FD just did everything I asked it to do, through traffic, threading the needle, through rain in the dessert.....this new physics engine just completely crushes the old one, the feel of the tires on road is phenomenal, a huge improvement. Screw the eye candy, the meat and potatoes of this update is that new physics engine! I even took the FD up to the mountains where the roads are Icy and it did great, not one crash, not even a guardrail kiss. Cars seem to have way better grip on those roads than before.

monster trucks are worthy, but mostly just in the stunt arenas, which I found 3 on the map so far. dragsters are fun, simplistic but fun, drifting is the clear winner, I suck, terribly I might add, but when I was doing it right, it felt really great, like I had great control over the slide. I look forward to getting more practice in.

I bought a dirt bike, this is good fun, just thrashed it over the hills off road, catching air, doing accidental supermans (I still haven't figured out the trick system), it's more fun than a raid vehicle by a Vegas mile. I still haven't tried the racing bikes, or the Indian, I simply couldn't tear myself away from the dirt bike, which I bought dirt spec for and then did even more ridiculous things with it, like wall climbing in the dessert.

They need to patch the new skill rewards system, if I win a platinum award, I shouldn't be getting a gold performance part, that's just weird.

anybody know when i buy the wild run on disc, how much the update is gonna be at this moment??
( i have the crew on disc, but i do not have a good download speed,... for 7 gb it will take me +- 8 hours.. :( )

Glad the new cars are purchasable without the need of the Wild Run Expansion pack. Because I'm not going to be getting the expansion pack until Christmas apparently and now atleast I could play with some of the new rides they added. 👍

*EDIT* I was doing a faction mission and I noticed they enabled catch up for the AI. Oh boy.

Could anyone tell me why some of my pre-update are now locked? green border in
collection but with a padlock icon

And what is the extreme/normal toggle in the car collection all about? Also post-update

Thanks in advance

Just choose it from your car collection chart, you can fast travel from there to every dealer (or tuner) in the game.

Thanks. I was taking a look at that yesterday and i saw the bikes and some of the other new cars but not that. Maybe i missed it or something. And @GTvsForza i notice that as well. I'm not about to stop playing it because of that but i notice a few times that it was really terrible.

Welp, FPS took a dump. Can't play the game anymore :(
For me the game's FPS is a little more stable after the new update and before the game's frame rate would start dropping when cruising around places like New York and i've seen this happen when at Los Angeles. It still does that when in New York but it improved with the new update. Not sure about Los Angeles though.

I guess maybe your console is getting weaker which is funny because I believe mines is after spending so much time with my PS4 but The Crew isn't suffering worser frame rate drops after the new update as of right now.

I use a normal laptop... I edited the PCScalability file for the game to work fine, but after Wild Run it lags crazy.

The game doesn't give you enough lean control on the bikes. So when you go over some really rough little jumps, you can't lean to correct the bike at all, it just flings you into death. You can only lean back and forward once you get to a particular height (when you're on the ground, the lean just acts as a wheelie/stoppie button, the game doesn't treat the rider as a movable mass). I'm more riding the KTM 450 for a laugh because it's hilarious watching this guy get flung all over the place like crazy and have him just take it. Though to be fair, the game is an arcade racer.

That's what a lot of people forget

I must say...
  • Well, instead of nerfing the LaFerrari, Ivory Tower appears to have buffed the Agera and Huayra from what I've tried out. I haven't tested any of the other perf spec cars in PvP, but I'd have to imagine that the LaFerrari has lost its competitive stranglehold over most of the other Perf-spec vehicles so far.
  • I've noticed the 370Z and Ford GT, both Circuit-spec, were also buffed to compete with the 8C Competizione. I think every Circuit-spec vehicle should be able to compete with those three vehicles, as they are now...but to each his own.
  • The Summit qualifiers are fun to partake in (especially the Freedrive Stunts and Challenges I did as part of them). I've just about guaranteed myself an Access Pass to the November Summit, as the next qualifier starts today and I only need to pick up 2-3 medals from it to get in.
  • A little tip if you plan on trying out a Precision Skill: Use a bike.
...I like this expansion so far.

After months I didn't play, I get back to the game and I found it a lot improved.
Much more stable, can use 60fps option without raising too much CPU usage and temperatures, better graphic and quite better for other compartments.

The only thing I don't understand is how works this "smart drop" function. I mean, I used to get platinum parts for my cars doing challenges, now I get wheels, paints, etc. And very few times the platinum parts. Is that ok?
