I want to see the tuning in the game before i say anything. If that sucks then that will be my biggest disappointment
Same, all I want to do is get a FD RX7 and modify it to my own taste without the thought of any engine rebuilds etc.
If the majority of the modification side of this game is above satisfactory I'll be pleased, real products are a must! no more Gran Turismo generic modifications, although they will most likely still be there.
yea dude i dont know if you got to see the videos about tunning but i didnt but from what i read i am not going to be happy nor will you
Theres so much negativity on this forum. I would like to see another thread that is the opposite of this where we only say positive things about gt5 :]
If you don't criticize the game, how will it improve?
Theres a fine line between critism and whining.
Agreed, but what do you expect people to do. I mean like it or not, Sony tried to manipulate the truth that there were 1000 cars. What we really got were 200 next gen cars and 800 last gen cars, so its bitter sweet, and more bitter than sweet given 80% of the cars are out dated. They tried to brush this all under the carpet, giving us only 1 standard car trailer, and no gameplay what so ever. And then there was a delay, we were told to expect a new release date by the end of oct, didn't get that and we still havn't got that while certain people with certain connections are playing the game as we speak, while we all drool here like idiots. I think i recapped it for you well.![]()
I agree with all your points, but..
I think we built up in our heads this ideal game and we are dissappointed when the reality set in. What did PD spend 5 years on? 200 High quality car models and 20 high quality tracks with the rest standard cars and standard tracks ported from gt4. We just expected so much more.
Exactly, the hype people created for this game, it was doomed to dissappoint from the beginning. Not saying it will be a bad game, far from it, but its not as good as people thought it would be. Also, just makes you think, in 6 years of development, how did they only model 200 cars? I mean leads one to think they messed up their time management big time.
I used to model and make maps for various mods and it really just takes a fricken long time. You always overestimate how much you can get done. It's human nature.
But they modeled 150 for GT5P in what, like 2 years?
It was only about 70 with all the extra ones. If you do the math, it works out about right with the people they had and estiamted 6months per car. They did hire like 60 extra modelers 2 years back, thats probably when they realised they weren't going to make it.
Well than, then the question goes back to was it really that important the cars look that detailed. Having graphics better than Forza not enough? I mean did the cars really need to be detailed to the last bolt for the purpose of racing?

I'm really pissed that I won't be able to change the wheels on standard cars! Oh well. Looks like my garage will be filled with as many premium cars as possible.
(which should drive the same as premiums)
Wow, totally inappropriate.
The problem is that you already take all the new features for granted.
We've seen all the new exciting stuff on youtube, so there's no point to talk about this anymore. Damage, better AI, weather, carting, top gear track, 1000+ cars, skid marks, best graphics ever on a ps3, new better physics model, red bull x1, track generator... nobody cares.
What's important is that you might not be able to paint the wheels on some cars, that there's been a blurry car if you freeze the image on some replay, the first minute of the bloody intro video etc. It's pathetic.
I would have like the Lotus 25 en spa. Both will probably not be in GT5, but it will still be an amazing game without it.
