I want to see the tuning in the game before i say anything. If that sucks then that will be my biggest disappointment

Same, all I want to do is get a FD RX7 and modify it to my own taste without the thought of any engine rebuilds etc.

If the majority of the modification side of this game is above satisfactory I'll be pleased, real products are a must! no more Gran Turismo generic modifications, although they will most likely still be there.

I missed out! they were removed before I got a chance to view them.

At least the FD is a premium... still a dissapointed about the no aftermarket wheels on standard cars, but I'll get over it, I most likely won't even use 90% of the cars anyway. 👎

Theres so much negativity on this forum. I would like to see another thread that is the opposite of this where we only say positive things about gt5 :]

Theres a fine line between critism and whining.

Agreed, but what do you expect people to do. I mean like it or not, Sony tried to manipulate the truth that there were 1000 cars. What we really got were 200 next gen cars and 800 last gen cars, so its bitter sweet, and more bitter than sweet given 80% of the cars are out dated. They tried to brush this all under the carpet, giving us only 1 standard car trailer, and no gameplay what so ever. And then there was a delay, we were told to expect a new release date by the end of oct, didn't get that and we still havn't got that while certain people with certain connections are playing the game as we speak, while we all drool here like idiots. I think i recapped it for you well.:)

I agree with all your points, but..

I think we built up in our heads this ideal game and we are dissappointed when the reality set in. What did PD spend 5 years on? 200 High quality car models and 20 high quality tracks with the rest standard cars and standard tracks ported from gt4. We just expected so much more.

Exactly, the hype people created for this game, it was doomed to dissappoint from the beginning. Not saying it will be a bad game, far from it, but its not as good as people thought it would be. Also, just makes you think, in 6 years of development, how did they only model 200 cars? I mean leads one to think they messed up their time management big time.

I used to model and make maps for various mods and it really just takes a fricken long time. You always overestimate how much you can get done. It's human nature.

But they modeled 150 for GT5P in what, like 2 years?

It was only about 70 with all the extra ones. If you do the math, it works out about right with the people they had and estiamted 6months per car. They did hire like 60 extra modelers 2 years back, thats probably when they realised they weren't going to make it.

Well than, then the question goes back to was it really that important the cars look that detailed. Having graphics better than Forza not enough? I mean did the cars really need to be detailed to the last bolt for the purpose of racing?

No, that was kaz's vision and I think he regrets that mistake now. I think it's the marketing department that screwed everything up, we really should blame them for getting our hopes up :]

Playstation is just awesome at its customer relations. We wait for 6 years for a game that is ~75% upscaled GT4 content, and where is it? Who knows.

Sony, there are a few easy ways to keep everybody happy--maybe just pick one from the short list below:

  • Give us some info. A release date, a status update, or some official vids directly answering community questions about the game. Make the localization teams do it, they know everything we need. Then maybe throw the vids in a Home theater to make that system useful for once.
  • Stop busting early vids! Yes you're within your rights to pull them down, but since there is no official info, these robin hood pirates are keeping legitimate customers from eating eachother.
  • Send GT5 copies to the press and lift any kind of gag order. I promise we care more what a high-res video review says than some pirates.
  • Release a demo. There are quite a few demo builds around--pick one. That'd shut us up good.
  • Let the game be sold as it arrives. Nobody is getting it any sooner by waiting for every retail area worldwide to get their copies, and the release date is over a week passed. It might not be a pretty launch, but it will be as rapid as possible.

GT5 is going to be something, but I'm not having fun with the way any of this is going. Thanks for letting me vent the rage & crying, I'll go back to my cage now.

I entirely agree with releasing it as it comes. Make sure the regions have a window before it releases so no major stores are left high and dry but I really don't care who gets what when, I just want it as soon as I can get it.

I know it's easy to say this being in the North American region which usually gets releases fairly early but I really don't give a hoot if people in Japan get it tomorrow and I still have to wait a week.

Of course this post is worthless as I'm sure the decision has already been made and Sony probably already knows the release date or has a very good handle on it but this is supposed to be a thread dedicated to crying and there it is, I've vented.

I'm really pissed that I won't be able to change the wheels on standard cars! Oh well. Looks like my garage will be filled with as many premium cars as possible.

I'm upset that you can't change the wheels too, but just because you can't change the wheels (in which you won't really see when driving) is now stopping you from driving them? (which should drive the same as premiums)

The problem is that you already take all the new features for granted.

We've seen all the new exciting stuff on youtube, so there's no point to talk about this anymore. Damage, better AI, weather, carting, top gear track, 1000+ cars, skid marks, best graphics ever on a ps3, new better physics model, red bull x1, track generator... nobody cares.

What's important is that you might not be able to paint the wheels on some cars, that there's been a blurry car if you freeze the image on some replay, the first minute of the bloody intro video etc. It's pathetic.

I would have like the Lotus 25 en spa. Both will probably not be in GT5, but it will still be an amazing game without it.

[SARCASM] Standard Cars are not going to have wheels!?

Oh my gosh!!

I'm sorry but PD sucks in some ways. What have they been doing with the money that GT brings in? Obviously not hiring staff.

How many people have been working on GT5 3 and a half?

Okay so I had to come back and change my comment. I thought that it was just paint that you couldn't use, but in the video, it clearly said you can't change wheels on standard cars. Oh well. I'm not complain, but GT5 is seriously not really GT5, it is an unfinished project.
