I finally got myself a proper PC so I can play ETS2! Waited 3 years to play it, and can't wait to play it later.
I use a G27 wheel, with manual and clutch (for those wondering.) So I'll get a little more realism thrown into playing the game.
Do you guys have any tips for a rookie trucker? Help is appreciated

Give some thought to what you want first. I did ADR first, then something of everything and now busy to get the last block of long distance. The long drives have some pretty nice payouts in combination with ADR and or breakable.

Save money for garages, trucks for your drivers. I wouldn't get a loan, you don't really need it and in the beginning you don't cash so hard so you would be throwing all the working money at loans.

And check out Promods and the likes. :D Can't do without!

Thanks for the tips! I'll give the game a try later today, so I'm waiting in excitement to play it later.
I'll try your tips later 👍

Like Leggy already said, Jazzycat is a very good modder too. I have a few mods from him running at the moment. Make sure to check his page here and then specially the AI traffic pack, trailers and cargo pack, painted truck traffic, truck traffic pack. I have linked to the latest versions. These all work with Promods. Take a look at this video;

It is free to use, but to download and use it is a bit different. You either go through the hard way having 3 separate downloads or if you give them 1 dollar you can download the 'plug and play' version.

A guy named Ohaha makes nice mods too. I like his truck mods a lot. Like the Scania T or this one for your stock Volvo..

After all these (easy to install) mods I'm sure your experience will be more fun!

You could and I mean could use the money mod cheat. The mod is register for older versions of ETS2 but I used it in 1.15 and prob would work in 1.16. Where it gives you nine million per job and 5000 XP. You can adjust the payouts. After a few jobs you have enough money to buy garages and drivers.

Another Jazzycat fan here , I use all of his packs.
Another mod I would highly recommend is realistic lighting. http://ets2downloads.com/misc/realistic-lighting-improved-skyboxes-and-weather

One thing I do as a backup plan: Whenever I start using a new mod (on top of many others) , I will create a new save game for that group of mods. That way if I start having problems , I can revert back to a previous configuration that I know is stable.

When purchasing trucks for my employees , I always buy standard SCS models rather than mods. That way if I stop using a truck mod in future when it becomes unstable on an updated game version , I dont have to sift through all the trucks in my fleet to remove it.

Before I had to reinstall the game (& all the mods), I loved my Scania T. Working towards buying it again with my new profile. 👍

Shoutout to @yzfmike for the Traffic mod link as well.

It would be good, I hate that tire.

Maybe fuel tanks/spare tires will eventually be added in customisation by SCS, but I doubt it.

Here you go: http://ets2mods.org/2015/02/traffic-density-mod-by-rhythmosaur/ I have and continue to use 100 x 100. My game does pause slightly when first starting the game, but it does smooth itself out. Its nice in some rural areas you can get steady traffic all around.
This is a great mod , I only just started using it this week. 100X50 is great , can get a little crazy during peak traffic periods though. Glad I wasn't stuck in that gridlock going the other way :D

I have about 5 trucks in my main save, each in a different save game(The same thing as quicksaves, but manual)(And no Volvos/Scanias included!)
And i really love how this one turned out.

You get no points for guessing that it is based off of the British Police.

We actually have Police lorries:

And you guys are still not the only ones to use them for police stuff.

Actually, now that i think about it, those lorries would be pretty useful in ets2mp.

Dang and we have SUVs that check trucks. No trucks for trucks in USA. I guess outside of lab transports, demo units for public?

The uk police also use them to catch drivers doing stuff behind the wheel they shouldn't be doing like talking on the mobile. By having a lorry you can look into either vehicles with ease. Like much of europe we have a lot of foreign drivers using our roads that may not be familiar with the laws in our country.

Agreed ! The premium looks OK to me too. The Magnum I can understand though. It has a face only a mother could love.
