And for funsies, the UK got the Daewoo version too. Which I did forget about until you mentioned Daewoo:

The Daewoo Nexia. Because if the Mk2 Astra wasn't already hugely out of date enough by 1991 when it was replaced by the Mk3, then launching it again in 1995 is obviously going to work.

A year or two back I drove the Mk2 Astra GTE. Retro appeal aside it was pretty bad to drive, and that was the top one with better suspension, 150bhp and a digital dash. What the Nexia was like with half that power and none of the GTE's upgrades I can barely imagine.

It was common here to butcher various parts of the Nexia to "upgrade" the looks of the E Kadett.

I know my turd looked not any worse after installing alk the plastic bits. :lol:
 
That's a Honda?

Honda provided the basic structure and engines from the first gen Legend to underpin the 800 Series. Rover dealt with bodywork and interior while electrics were outsourced to a local Brummie firm.

You can probably guess which aspects led to this re-badge ending up with a lousy reputation in the US.
 
Both of which were little more than sedanised Renault 25s.

Like I said, quite a story... Renault indirectly gave Chrysler a great platform they milked for all it was worth after they figured out what they had.
