There's also the possibility that Otanashi
became a wandering spirit without a place to go. He DID mention being lost for some time.

Seems to be a sad though if he'd end up in a limbo instead of moving on like the others.

Anyway Loli, were you able to get your hands on Angel Beats!: Another Epilogue?

-----

So guys, the reason why I'm asking about Bebop's dub is something against the AUP, but thanks anyway, looks like it's worth a try.

Another Epilogue is an alternate ending, some people say.

Couldn't find a video with English subs though, so I'm saving that for later.

LOL I only read Loli's response. I gotcha. Another Epilogue is decent. It's basically a setup for a season 2 if they decided to go that route.

On the Angel Beats! ending:

Wasn't it pointed out that Otonashi wasn't really even supposed to be there? He has no memory of his life before he died and thinks that he must regret something since he's there with everyone. As he slowly regains his memories he realizes he has actually tried to do good with his life. It's actually Kanade who makes him appear because her regret was not getting to thank the person who donated their heart.

That's what I get out of the ending anyway.

Technically Yoko is considered 14 at first but since there is no concept of time in TTGL at first, no one is really to actually know, so technically her age is really open to debate.

I should be so lucky if she is 14 though, because I still am! :D

She's 20 by the end of the show.

I never thought Otonashi had something to do with Kanade on why he wasn't obliterated.

Your idea makes some sense, but it puzzles me.

Someone speculated that Kanade was in a coma for a long time, hence why she seemed to be an exception being in the afterworld and why she was there before Otonashi was. My guess from here on is that Kanade didn't live long after her heart transplant operation.

Otonashi does have memory of his life before hand; we all saw him in the train wreck underground....

This, VN02, Love is War DX, World is Mine, Racing 2011 and Knight are the Miku figurines worth getting IMO. Come at me, Miku supporters. :P

So... is Bebop's dub a good one?
It's the only dub I've ever watched, but that's because I couldn't find any subs for the first 8 episodes or so. I should point out that Spike's Japanese VA is the same as Mr. Within The Realm Of Possibility himself, Ryoji Kaji.
Yeah it's pretty good.

Otonashi gradually gained those memories back during the show. It's been a while since I saw it, but I believe he didn't remember anything when he first got there.

I think things start making more sense if you stop looking at it in terms of Otonashi and look at from Kanade's perspective. Kanade could manipulate the world. She wanted everyone to be able to be at peace with their life and to be able to move on. The only way she could move on was to thank Otonashi, so she manipulated the world to bring him there. Everything is in Kanade's timeline, not Otonashi's.

Screw it, I'm bored, I'm going to try Madoka.

OADR, Take 2:

Now I have to go find another one.

EDIT: OADR has been edited.

 at OADR. What was the reposted image, BTW?

Re: Madoka 1:

I have no idea what I was watching over those last 5 minutes.

Guilty Crown Ep. 20:

So, um, what the hell did I just watch?

I get the gist of it, but it was really, really random. Like, Haruka only married Kurosu because he was lonely? This episode did nothing for me; it picked up at the end but other than that it was somewhat unnecessary. Everything that took place could have been highlighted several episodes ago.

Felt more like a filler episode to me. I don't know... maybe I missed something that's deeply seeded in the episode.

Oh yeah, the OADR reboot was certainly better than the repost. :P
"You're progressing well in your Tsundere Studies."

Now I'm off to get my head 🤬 by another episode of Madoka.

Or it could just be he was lost for a long time before stumbling into that place, since his memory was damaged.

I'm fine with stories being intentionally vague and not filling in all the pieces, allowing fans to speculate as to what really happened.

But... stories that are flawed unless fans create silly and/or elaborate possible explanations that have little to no supporting evidence within the canon is something else entirely. If doing so helps you pretend that the flaws aren't there, great... but it absolutely does not truly fix the problem, as the explanation you've hypothesized isn't canonical.

That being said, Icarus25's explanation sounds plausibly valid. I never thought of it like that, so perhaps that's why I missed it. But I'd have to go back and rewatch Angel Beats to verify, which I won't be doing anytime real soon (not that Angel Beats isn't great tho).

Now that is what you call a quality FIGURE. The right type of plastic was used for all parts. Love GSC's products. 👍

What I said wasn't outside of the idea of the canon or anything.

I mean, come on, it is a show about dead kids stuck in an imaginary high school of limbo trying to resolve their regrets.

I imagine there is some leeway :P
