Yeah, Gun X Sword is pretty cool. Far from awesome, but one of one a few in the space western genre, so if you're into six shooters and cowboy hats and mechas descending on demand from orbital satellites all in the same program, it's certainly a must watch.

Far from awesome? I was leaking tears of joy when the Armor showed up.

I'm still fascinated by the structural integrity of that blade Van wields. Also, who mentioned Gundam?

As for me, I look forward to being at Otakon in Baltimore next weekend. While the Tour de France was going on, I started watching a bicycle racing anime called Over Drive and are only 2 eps into it so far. Maybe I'll watch more as I make my way down to Otakon this week.

That's one thing i want to do before i die; go to an otaku convention and try to cosplay (which is hard when you're of the dark skin pigment )

I'm 5 episodes into Capeta... So far it's kicking Initial D and Wangan Midnight's butts. Badly.

Yeah, I think I've opined the same previously! The only possible downside to Capeta is that its main character is very young, as opposed to ID and WM where romantic tensions can come into play. Aside from that, Capeta has great racing and characters and animation and it's really a terrific show.

I can never go to outings that huge in expansion by myself, which is why I've never/won't go. I don't have the absolute best of luck with friends so anywhere I do go it's likely to be by myself.

Hrmm... Dutch from Black Lagoon? Afro Samurai? Darker than Black?(no pun intended there, actually a few dark pigmented characters portrayed fairly) a few minors in Full Metal Panic and BECK... Some One Piece character? Lewis from Blood+ but nobody would get it. Yeah, Japanese are incredibly racist so not too many dark-skinned characters make it into anime except from the most liberal, daring, and off-mainstream broadcast productions. Except for comedic effect, like the afro guy in Bleach who is "in charge" of Karakura town.

Also noticed the same racist tendencies when I was living in Ecuador, during a study abroad program with 30 or so other students. The black guy in the program, by himself, couldn't get a bus to stop for him... f'd up sh't...



And here's an especially good one. Actually, it's kind of painful to watch in a way, but after you get over that, these kids are freeking great, just go out there and declare your otaku-ness! What do you care what other people think!! After watching this, you should know, you won't be the first black to cosplay!
