So.

I didin't have internet, soooo instead of my wife loosing her time at WoW and me losing mine in, well, here, we watched anime!

We practically power-watched the second season of Rayearth, ate it in two days. And I'm very very VERY happy to report that it doesn't suck!!! My fears went ungranted, thank heavens. I mean, it's NOT like I rememebered it of course, but it wasn't annoying or stupid nor it had serious continuation mistakes and such stuff. Instead, it was well paced, felt much less filler-full than first season, the budget jump from I to II was really noticeable and it was surprisingly enjoyable.

Also, I was surprised to find that my wife also feared that it would be too lame to watch and that she'd drop it at like episode 4, but to my amazement, and hers, she also enjoyed it way more than she thought she would.

And ok, I'll say that there are some things that suck, there were moments with zero money on them (Fuu singing, and she doesn't even move her MOUTH. And it had to be her -_-), some characters are indeed annoying, and many fighting sequences could be a lot better, but damn for 1994 it was amazing. Today, it still stands on it's own. And I'm so glad I can say dat. I can be a proud fanboy 15 years hence.

I'll have to check Rayearth out then. 👍

Today I bought Angel Beats on DVD. Yaaaaaaaay.

Also, to anyone who thinks "everyone who wants NGE has bought it already"... that's possibly the stupidest thing I've heard in a long while. I only just got into NGE a year ago myself, and I know for a fact that NGE still sells. In fact, last week there were two NGE Platinum boxsets on the shelf at the Navy Exchange here on base. Today there was only one.

*Stuff about Rayearth*

I'm actually really glad to hear you still love the show. I'm going to have to give it a go.

Well excuuuuuse me! :P

Buy the other one too. One can never own too much NGE. 👍

Question: Is it the regular Platinum box set or the slimpack? If it's the slimpack does it still come with the Nerv parking decal for your car?

It's the slimpack.. and no, I don't recall any Nerv parking decal. :grumpy:

That sucks. I need to find another one. I lost mine when I forgot to take it off my last RX-7 before I got rid of it. :(

Just trolling, too. You know I'd never take Angel Beats. Maybe if you paid me to do it. Then I'd sell it away.

wtf? Have you even watched Angel Beats, or are you just judging a book by it's cover?

Absolutely judging a book by it's cover... bleh, by what I've read in the internet. I'd never watch something like that.

Whatever, your loss. It's actually really good.

I can relate though... It looked incredibly dumb to me, too. But then one night I was bored and decided to watch it to see just how bad it really was, and I ended up being very pleasantly surprised.

Walked into Sam Goody and they had the limited edition of Darker Than Black S2, so I bought it. Didn't unbox it yet, gotta catch a plane in an hour and won't get the chance to until around 930HST.

Tried? Tried?! Does that mean you didn't finish it?!

No, never. I could not stand Vash anymore, and the series was just slow and uninteresting. I dropped it at about the time when

the priest guy with the cross machine gun dies

I'd try Angel Beats before I'd ever think about watching that piece of trash again.

Then you were already pretty far into it. Dude it's awesome. Finish it!

To be honest I didn't know the Platinum version was still in print. It's been out for forever. That's definitely a show that if anyone wants it, they already have it.
And that's the very reason why the show bombed on [adult swim] as I heard years ago. They gave into the fan demand and, nobody tuned in to it at a great time on Thursday nights despite fair promotion. Heavily seen, and many stuck with their DVD's/VHS's.

Also Rightstuf added a counter for the Holiday Collection, 175 left and the price is $50, different from it usually being $40. Sometimes it was $82.50.

I hope it can last long until Christmas as I always now get $50 from my aunt (Who is also my godmother.) for Christmas.

Also Yaywalter is right though on it still selling. As long as there are people getting into anime every year, they're bound to want that show.

Nice.👍:)

---------------------------
Was asleep from when I got home (3:30) to 10 PM. My sister is still using the laptop. Great, I'm now 18 episodes behind (4 of which are for currently airing shows.). I was going to finish Honey and Clover today, an epic show (It's a show I highly recommend.), but I couldn't.:(

Also, I woke up to find Clannad After Story Collection 2 had only 1 copy left at Rightstuf. I bugged my dad (He apparently doesn't get payed actually until tomorrow.), and after a while, I got all the Clannad subbed DVD's (Hopefully I really did get the last copy of the second After Story DVD and wasn't too late.), and finally the Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal limited edition BD import.:D:D

I so can't wait.:D:(

AOS-, looking to BUY ANIME? What?!!!

Also, what about that BD? If you want it cheap, anime is almost always cheaper online. Best Buy usually charges for close to the MSRP.

-> I also like Angel Beats too, but I'm already on its 11th episode and I feel the series is too short along with High School of the Dead. :indiff:

-> Somthing I stumbled from the other thread...

~Cosplay Asuka~ not OADA

That's the one DVD I've actually been checking Best Buy for...
AOS looking for DVDs.. surprise!
I would just get the blu-ray. I don't really know why, but I HATE the general packaging for DVDs(There are exceptions though)

I'm not using my ps3 to play movies....ever.

You kidding me, Cano? They just come in when Ponies aren't doing it for them....especially when cosplay pics are posted...

Like what type of packaging on those Amarays? Thinpaks, stackpaks, digipaks, flippers? Angel Beats! had 3 discs for the DVD, so there is a double-sided flipper (Surprised Sentai didn't use the notorious Stackpak like they usually do for stuff with 3+ discs.). As for the BD, 2 discs, and this is what it looks like.
