Graphics quality, what do you think?

I think so far it looks good, I like the non-intrusive motion blur and the trees are much better. However I am a bit concerned about the shadows popping in so close to the camera. This would be very off-putting at high speed in the green hell - hopefully they can optimize this.

For me it looks very similar to Asseto Corsa in details. AC has another white balance, color temperature (which can be changed via in-game color profiles). GTS has soft edges, more bloom, smaller DOF and even self-ligthing imo

I would say GTS might have very competitive graphics in general. It looks already pretty good and compasion videos shows improvements:
I like GTs fantasy world. It's imo much better than too real and boring enviroment. Driveclub has the best "weather graphics" at the moment but GTsports enviroment looks more lively. Except Tokyo... Only problem is that GT looks maybe too GT and that's why it's easy to say GTS is only GT6 2.0.

The problem that people do not understand when trying to compare GTS with GT6, is that GT6 already had a very strong lighting system, it did not need too much improvements and I don't see how it could go more realistic than what GT6 already set. GTS managed to do this though, thanks to better hrdware, but nothing too miraculous.
Just to remind all of you, this is GT6's lighting engine at work already in 2013:

Looks extremely realistic.

I love how people defend the Tokyo track looking like 🤬 because it gives them a Ridge racer vibe
If the special stage routes were available in daytime, you'd probably say the same thing about them too.

hopefully night time will light this track up.

Are you sure? From the trailers and replays I've seen so far that GTS, whilst very beautiful, doesn't seem to have much trackside movement. The hot air balloons were a nice touch but Driveclub had a lot more, what with birds, butterflies and plastic bags along with assorted other bits of litter - flags, crowd movement and my favourite...clouds of party balloons and confetti. If GTS can match that (and I do believe that this is what Kazunori san was referring to with his 'edge-effects' comment) I'd be happy.

Six months is a long time - some games get complete overhauls in that time, so yes: I believe.

But it usually doesn't bother me, I can still look at GT3 with a smile in my face and be satisfied with its visuals.

Sorry to only quote the lesser part of your post, but one thing that stays with me out of the GT series is playing GT3 for the first few times (early teens), and starting very quickly from the menu in Arcade mode on one of the ovals in the C5R Corvette, the visual quality of the game astounded me.
I'm guessing a mad frame rate, lots of smoothing?

Back on topic, the videos I've seen of GT Sport so far do look like a small improvement, but I think it will be much better once we get to play it on our superior PS4's :)

Madrid and Rome have buildings and they don't look as dull and uninspiring as that.

Rome and Madrid had fancy buildings that sticked out. The Special Stage buildings had nothing but a GT Logo, it was all generic.

Though I do prefer it in the GT4 days when it had grand stands which gave it a stadium vibe :P

You are right. I meant that the nature for example in Nordschleife is so colorful and "fresh" etc. comparing to Driveclub. The difference is not big if there is even any but GTS has very good lightning and that makes a lot. Like you said there is no any movement in GTS but gotta believe there's gonna be in final product. Otherwise it looks unfinished.

No, it's a night only race so you can give them a pass on that, if you're going to do city tracks during the day then there should be more care.
So by this logic the SSRs can never be given a daylight time because there isn't enough care, does that really sound sensible? Also, what if Tokyo express way does have night time? What if it was night time only and then they added daytime too? Does that make it worse just because a second option was added?

Night time or not

This looks terrible, saying well SSR will probably have looked as bad as this on the PS3 is in no way shape or form an excuse for this.

That does look bad. But I have not once seen the track this poor in motion or anywhere else at all for that matter. Where is this image taken from?

From what I see is that the reason he's saying if its set in the day it should get more care is because when you have a night track it's a lot easier to hide pleasantries then it is on a day track. Things like this will stick out like a sore thumb. More attention to detail is going to be necessary for it to look just as good in comparison.

No it makes it worse because as it sits it just looks so bad.
