I have now stopped racing. I may do the odd time trial to see if I can get into top 3 of 10 on leaderboards.
I've gone from 75000 DR / 99 SR to 65500 DR / 62 SR, simply because of other drivers being dangerous, extremely dirty and because of a woeful penalty system.
It takes a lot to test my patience, but I've had enough.

At the moment I am so totally and utterly fed up with GT Sport - which as a game is meant to be entertaining, means that it feels more stressful than the job I do.

This down to the connection to the server frequently dropping out.

For example:
It took 32 mins just to save a livery, and then to share it.
5 times whilst doing the 12 mins Blue Lagoon premium car race, the connection dropped.

Any suggestions?
I've restarted the router, the game, the console, done the internet tests on the PS4
Blue Lagoon?

Didn't know you had early access to DLC tracks!:D

I may probably not the first one to moan about this and probably not the last, but...

Why is the BoP system in GT Sport such an utter travesty? How's it possible that there's one car on each track and in each group that is so superior compared to all the other cars? Just look at Daily Race C today. When matching players, this is more like a Mustang GT3 One Make race. Same when it comes to the Emil Frey Lexus which is just ridiculously overpowered. Or the Megane in Group 4. I could go on and on and on...

Hey Kaz and Polyphony. The B in BoP stands for Balance, not Bias.

The BoP is probably the best it’s been, and won’t change significantly in the future. Some cars are simply power cars and some cars are handling cars.

Not a massive whine, but.....

Joined a "race clean lobby" yesterday, during practice I had an incident which generated a tirade from the room owner (who I hit) and then got kicked. It was a genuine error on my part as I didn't see him dive up the inside on a turn and we collided. Yes I should have seen him, but I was turning in and wham. The tirade was how I can't drive and should have read the room title. S SR rating, yes I'm not the fastest but clean racing rooms, does that mean absolutely NO contact = I should go into the gravel/grass/wall if someone dives up the inside??????

The difference between real life and GTS regarding BoP is that irl you can‘t just swap to the car that is the best for each track and that‘s why it works quite good for the Manufacturers FIA races as you‘re not allowed to change cars there. Apart from that they‘ll either have to make a BoP for every car for every track (huge work and even more prone to errors) or just keep it as it is and try to improve it in little steps.

Or unlock gear tuning...

No multi class and no choosing AI cars, is killing me. Booted up Assetto Corsa(XB1), while my daughter is occupying the PS4, playing Minecraft.

Sheer brilliance! I'm started my "3-Minute Championship" (due to only being able to watch 3 minutes of replay, on console).
I'm racing against Jeff Gordon, Jason Plato, Chaz Mostert, among others. GT3 & GT4 cars, plus the Evora GTC. Screaming, dying inside, I can't do this in GT Sport. It really is a crime.

Need to vent, been holding off having a whine since the full release, thought this the best place to do it. Sometimes venting helps. It may get me to take a different attitude to gt than the one I've been developing over the past few months.

Played the beta, had a whine on the ps beta forum about the SR system which i still think is all wrong. I don't mean how penalties or blame is assigned. Or the points you get or lose. It's the ranking 99 is to low it should be something like 999, if you get what i mean. I also commented there how the game seems to be more suited for elitist and those with plenty of time on there hands. As well as being just to much like quick match in shiny wrapping. I still think this.

I'm going off track here because I wanted to whine is about driving aids, the daily races, lack of tuning and race length and the FIA races.

Driving aids: i have no problem with people using them. I just don't think people who use the likes of CSA should be classed at the same level as those who don't. Driver 1 uses CSA, Driver 2 doesn't, both equally as fast and consistent. It seems to me that driver 2 is more skillful as they don't need aids where as driver 1 does. Surely the DR system should reward the more skillful driver more.

Tuning: tuning was there in the beta and for a bit on release but it's gone for now. I understand having no tuning in the online races keeps things simple and more accessible for those who don't know how to or have the time to tune. There may even be a reason PD are excluding it in order to sort out BOP. They should have it back for at least 1 online race. Being able to tune helps you to adjust the car to your driving style, can help make it more stable, etc. In turn having a car tuned the way you like it can help you be more consistent and could lead to better races.

Daily races and race length: I've put these together because my whine about them is related. I have enjoyed some of the races at their current length and understand some don't have the time or the possibility to take part in longer races. There are also some who would get bored with longer races. But I crave longer ones as do others. I don't get the same enjoyment out of short races as i do out of the longer ones. The feeling after racing for 90 mins is more satisfying than a short 20 min race. I would race online more if PD ran 45/50 mins allowing 1 race a hour (or longer).

This brings me to the dailies. Not everyone has the time to be on for a few hours everyday. I either spend 20 mins on my Q and manage to get 3/4 races or i work at my Q until I've learnt the track and car then maybe have time for 1 race. If there was some weekly races 1 with tuning and/or 1 that was 45mins +. This would make the game more enjoyable. You could spend the odd evening tuning, learning the track and car then pick a day that suits to race. Yes there is the possibility that not many people would race these races.

FIA races: I can't really comment on them never took part in one. And that's where I think there's a problem. They seem to much like the dailies. So I just stay away from them. Would love them to do group championships. Rather than the mix they do now. I can't see PD doing this until there's more tracks and cars.

That's my whine (rant) about GT sport. Why don't i just go play something else? Umm been thinking of it, for now i'm hoping PD will change or improve on things. I also loved the races I've had playing gt with some of the guys I've met here on gtplanet.

Just to give my two cents on this. For me, 20 mins is fine to adjust to a race and qualify decently. I spend 6-7 mins setting a marker lap, 6-7 mins trying to push my limits to find some extra time, and then 6-7 mins bringing together what I could do before and anything I just learned. And then I do 3-4 races, as you say, and get in a couple of laps between each. Granted, I can't hope of being one of the best like this, but it's enough for me to perform relatively well whilst only playing for 1-2 hours per day. I, for one, would never in a million years think about spending an entire session on the game doing nothing but hotlapping, and I wouldn't want to spend time tuning either. Much of the player base take quite a casual approach to Sport Mode, so I'm not sure the weekly race idea would work, and the player base is probably too small anyway. With the FIA races, on the other hand, you can spend all the time you want practicing in the days before the race, so why don't you try them out? They are slightly longer (25-30 mins, I think), with a live quali session before the race, and both now run twice a week, so I'm sure they're very competitive.

Cheers for the two cents

Much of the player base take quite a casual approach to Sport Mode,

Could be i take it too serious sometimes, maybe i should try lighten up

try them out?

Been thinking i should try them have mates who complain a lot about them and never miss one if they can. As PD continue to develop their races things should improve.

Hopefully, now I've had my little cry I can start getting back to enjoying myself again.

I can't stand anymore the bumper car physics for collisions in 2018. Oh and the awful hitboxes too! Coming from Forza, racing feels too soft, peaceful because collisions have no consequences.

Can I epically cry and whine about the fact that there is no GT Sport Epic Fanboy and Complacency Thread?!

I mean, if complaints about GTS are supposed to be shunted off into an insultingly titled thread, how about one for (unreserved) glowing praise and a denial of problems? LOL

/jk

Surprising that statement came from you

Well I am sure this has been mentioned in this topic before but the game constantly makes me whine
when I do a simple arcade race for daily prize with a Gr3 and I forget every time how ridiculously advantaged the
BMW M6 is when the AI drives it.

I really wish that car was not so powerful in the offline game.

Where are the Gr.4 Endurance races? Only Alsace in the Mission race. Gr.2 has been added and DTG gets a Gr.3 enduro. Just sucks the only Gr.4 Arcade multi-class i can do, does not exist in this game.

It's been moaned about before and it's still the biggest stuff up PD have made.

Why in the virtual Earth, did PD offer the BBS RS 3-piece wheel and we can only paint the whole wheel??? It's one of the most rcognizable and used wheels ever. The wheel adds style to any car. In real life, the wheel gets custom colored wheel rivets, center cap, spokes, wheel rims. However, the stock BBS 1-piece on the E30 gets an option to color the center spokes. Makes the RS useless for customizing. In past GTs, we could color just the center. Why change it now? I doubt it's a licence issue.

I'm simply not happy with Sport being called a 'whole' or 'complete' game of the series. Though I do understand that it is PD's focus for the years to come. Maybe this pay to play online model will help finance a return to what I consider to be a 'full' GranTurismo should be. Until then I be on the outside (with GT 5's course creator and in 6's garage) looking in... don't forget the active time and weather. No, Sport is not a Prolog or Concept but is an 'abbreviated' version of what I'm used to.

Gt Sport is what you would consider a 'sport' car would be. A stripped down version of something, a streamlined version of spmething before it.

Yup, althogh I have not played Sport, I see it as an updated yet stripped down version of what GT used to be... new stuff minus cars, venues and features. But there's this break in the action. Sony shut down all servers for their PS3 console. So... Sport to me is actually more than a stripped down version. It is, to me, more like a la Ferrari compared to a 6cyl Mustang... not in a good way. It's more like my Maxima can not pass a new emission standard. I can start it up in the garage but it's illegal to drive on public roads. GT6 online has become illigitimized.

If you really think about this game, it is a load of crap and PD has really lost their way. I am really disappointed in this game now, in the first few months of release I did spend a lot of time playing GTS, and then after several months I suddenly lost interest in the game, playing maybe an hour a day and then I put the game away for a week or so.
I ended up playing it again and I starting a new game and spending more time on it, because I thought soon GTS would get better, so I worked my way up to level 49, and then I realise there is not much in this game to keep me playing now.

If PD had the things in GTS that was in the online events in GT6 well I would have stayed on GTS, and having a lot of fun sharing tunes and talking about those events, and that was the good old days in GT6, but sadly PD has taken that fun away in GTS.

Preach!!! This should be up there on the list of PD's fix list. My favorite wheel and I can only use 'em in shades of silver and chrome :(

Also, I would like to formally complain about the starting grid spacing on rolling starts. Wouldn't a little more spacing prevent soo much turn 1 carnage. Just sayin'...

Yeah, it's a shame.

Now, about those grid starts. I've been the last car on the grid and still got punted off from behind. Players have to learn to back off. Back right off for any Turn 1. I've had my share of punting players ahead. Not by me barrelling into a Turn 1, but either braking too late or not anticipating an "early braker".

Most of it has to do with reading the traffic. If players coast before the brake markers, it gives a chance to cover an early braker, carnage and mistakes made by those ahead.

Some players will jump on the opportunity of another player's mistake into Turn 1. If some would just be patient for a split second, it makes a difference.
