I'm curious - do people think these types of designs are enhanced by having other sponsors rather than just team-related decals?
I've done a mix of both and can't really decide beyond other sponsors suiting race cars in general.

As @KK78 said it's personal choice. I personally think a race car looks better if it actually has the proper decals and race items on it that it does IRL. I gives me far greater pleasure making sure it's correct. It's why I spent so long on my MGS2 livery, every single sponsor and number board is period correct for the year of the games launch and that entry for DTM.
I don't think it hurts the entry and the chances of getting votes, it's just how people feel about the overall look of the entry, I think..

Oh yes I include them for sure.. Because the guy I'm supporting isn't active in a teamsport but individual, he haves sponsors in some categories and I've thought about a demo/support car for his sportactivitities, so he answered me pretty fast for being gratefull for this idea and gave me some tips about the decals I've to use.

If anyone can help update my post with not **** quality jpg’s I would be grateful :D
Share your image on gt. open the image fullscreen on the community via a phone/tablet/pc. Copy link then upload it to gtplanet media. I had this issue for a while then realised it’s the best way

It honestly makes such a difference to the entry!

Thanks, I've done that... hopefully it looks better now :D

What better vehicle for a Hurricanes livery, than a Huracan? I'm not much into ball sports, which is funny, since my job revolves around sports, but I like a little baseball, and hockey. Being in the Carolinas, naturally I'm going to be a Carolina Hurricanes fan. We've won the Cup once before, and made the playoffs this year, it just wasn't in the cards. Maybe next year. This entry's focus is loosely based on their home uniform, so it's not very complicated.

I made the group 4 version last year, just before we got pounded by Hurricane Florence.

Go Canes!!!

This theme is something I was waiting for, so I decided to participate. For this I designed my tribute for the SE Palmeiras. On the sides there is a remembrance for all National Leagues, National Cups, Copa Libertadores and Copa Rio Internacional titles. My first sketch had also other honours but it would become too much polluted, there would be no more car left to put decals... so I record it here: 5 Torneios Rio-São Paulo, 22 São Paulo State Championships, 1998 Copa Mercosul and 2000 Copa dos Campeões, among others :D.

Avanti Palestra!

I shared it in the link below. Enjoy!!

Other than racing, I am a HUGE pro wrestling fan. The company AEW was recently formed and is predicted to rival the WWE dynasty. Founded by Cody Rhodes, Kenny Omega, and the brothers of Nick and Matt Jackson (all of whom are also professional wrestlers) they set out to change the wrestling world. They are the first non-WWE company to sell out an arena that seats more than 10,000. With a large roster of new and unique talent and a handful of huge names (Chris Jericho, Dustin Rhodes, Earl Hebner) they are set to blow the whole industry wide open.

I was going to pick one of my existing designs (some are in my gallery via my signature if you're interested) but decided that they didn't fit with the competition criteria of "show off the colours and teams we support".
The Phillies are my baseball team and I've yet to create a satisfying livery for them and I don't really follow basketball properly.

So this is for Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club (also known as Notts Outlaws)
I'm a season ticket holder at Trent Bridge where I go to sit in a nearly-empty stadium during the summer with my camera and a book.
For those not familiar with cricket, there are 3 types of games. The original version is "First Class" or "Test" matches which can last up to 5 days and even then could end in a draw. The others are limited to only last one day or half a day with the idea that people don't have long attention spans these days.
My design tries to capture the differences with the right side being clean and simple and the other colourful and busier the same way the shorter games are marketed towards kids and families.

The photo of the player is one I took myself. Samit Patel is my favourite Notts player and usually gives good photo opportunities!

Oh, and GM is Gunn & Moore, probably the most popular cricket bat manufacturer who are based in Nottingham.

FINAL ENTRY

St. Pauli Fan VW Bus

Fans gathering for home match
If you ever come to my hometown Hamburg, Germany, you should take a look at three locations at least:
Elbphilharmonie
Auto Museum Prototyp
and Millerntor-Stadion
which is home ground of FC St.Pauli – a football club you may have heard of. Not because of any remarkable successes in the secondary league but because of the legendary culture of their fans. You won’t be able to snatch a ticket for a home match since these are sold out normally. However, when you hang around the entrance of the stadium two hours in advance of opening, you certainly will meet people who want to sell their tickets from necessity. Do it. You will not regret ist, it will be worth it! Watch the fans.

The FC St. Pauli has two logos: the historic club logo of 1910 and the pirate flag “Jolly Roger” for the fans. Back in the late 1970ies, in the district of St. Pauli there used to be a strong scene of squatters who decorated the roofs of their occupied blocks by Jolly Roger flags. Those politically left-wingers used to carry their flags to the stadium whenever their club had a home match. Nowadays, the skull and crossbones has become an economically important merchandise label for the club.

Considering this background it would be completely inept for a St. Paul fan livery to go for Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Ferrari or even Lamborghini since these are luxury products not only in the eyes of the fans. So I chose a German underdog vehicle - the VW bus. Here we call it “Bulli” which is derived from “Bus” and “Lieferwagen” (= delivery-van). I decorated the car with the logos mentioned above and the logos of the important sponsors of the club. Additionally I placed anti-Fascist symbols because of the importance of this theme for most of the St. Pauli fans. I hope you like it. B

Almost two years ago, ish, I meet up with a guy practising his skills on a tiny bmx bike, on the central station of Utrecht, Hoog Catherijne. His name, Sietse van Berkel. As a kid, I did some cycling too on these tiny bikes, but in competition mode, on a track with 7 competitors and trying not to be last. I was a kind of a wimp, because I couldn't make wheelies for example, afraid to break a bone. Always had so much respect in the freestyle and skate scene. The determination to get the trick done. Failure is just a part of not giving up, that's why I believe those guys, like Sietse are underrated for their sportmanship ! I follow on instagramSietse since the day I met him. Never had the chance to meet him up again in competition, but that day will hopefully come soon!

After I red the competition rules of this round, I wrote him, what he thought about this weird occassion for the admiration from a fan. He was very likely to help and came with a couple of sponsors he would like to see. Because without them, it's hard to compete on world title level. I made two liveries for him.
The Ford Raptor and this Xbow, with two different motivations. the Raptor because it could be the perfect demo car, throwing the bike in the back and taking merchandise with him from his sponsors. The X-bow was for me the perfect 'bmx' car in GTsport, light, tricky and lots of fun to doing stunts with it ! In the end I choose the Xbow for the better livery and the Raptor will follow later in my media gallery and maybe on Sietse's insta?
You never know :) It was really easy to choose the right colours, just the same as his latest bmx bike + orange grips !
The decals I made for this livery, are uploaded and ready to grab, just search for my name (same as here) or #sietse(vanberkel) and #bmx and you will find it ! The car itself will be ready for download too, tomorrow !
