THIS FORTNIGHT'S THEME

This week, you’ll have to get your hands dirty. Last winner @D-Max set this theme, let's hear what he has to say :

So this week I’d like to focus on the Mustang Gr.B rally car.

Ford have decided to Come back to the world of rallying as a factory team, and have brought the unconventional Mustang.

The title sponsor is undecided. Ford have just released a base carbon version of the car with no sponsors at all. It is your job to find the right sponsors for the team. Every last millimetre is down to you to design.

CARS :
- Ford Mustang Gr.B only.

LIVERIES :
- Original designs only, no replica.

UNIQUE RESTRICTIONS :
- Please keep the wheel choice realistic to rallying standards.
- The livery has to be Sport Mode compatible.
Sport Mode and GT League events use the Number Plate type 01 with mandatory placement. If you draw a custom number plate on your livery or place sponsors randomly, they may end up half-covered or not covered at all which will make it looks weird. We usually say « Sport mode compatible » or « Sport mode friendly » when the custom number plate and sponsors are placed where the GT plate type 01 will fit without denaturing the overall design. It’s easy on some cars but very hard on others (the 911 RSR for example has a very small type 01, or the Corvette has it in the middle of the door).

- Numberplate 02 is recommended, but not compulsory.

BONUS PICTURES SETTINGS :
- Two bonus pictures.
- One picture moving on the dirt.
- One still picture.

USER MADE DECALS :
- No restrictions.

GENERAL COMPETITION RULES

ENTRY SUBMISSION

- The only way you can take part is to be a member of the GTPlanet forums. If you haven't created your account yet, click here
- Mark your FINAL ENTRY clearly, with red text.
- Unsure how to? Copy and paste the following:
Code:
[COLOR=red][B]FINAL ENTRY[/B][/COLOR]
- One entry per user. It must be your own work, and never previously used in a competition.
- You may change your entry once. Do it clearly; edit out your previous entry, and either post the new one in a new reply, or in place of the original.
- Do not post "Honourable Mentions" or outtakes - just your Final Entry, that's all.
- Absolutely no entries which utilize edited/hacked file saves.

- Winner gets to choose the following Fortnight's theme.
- Winners cannot enter in their own theme!
- The Host may ask for the original image/livery and it must be submitted if so.
- It's recommended to share the original livery online (in-game) to prove it’s your work.
- Winner, second and third places will have to share the links of the liveries for the Hall of Fame thread

ENTRY PRESENTATION

- All images shall have preview images which may not exceed 640 pixels in either direction (main and bonus pictures)
- You have to post two main pictures of your entry using the mandatory locations and settings as shown below
- You are allowed to post two bonus pictures in a spoiler with free location and settings (unless the unique restrictions of the week’s theme specify something else)
- You have to make one post with ONLY the 4 pictures and the FINAL ENTRY mark. If you want to add precisions/background story/links, you are allowed to double-post under your entry. The best way to do it will be to "reply" to your own post.

- It is recommended you host your image either here on GTPlanet (via the Media section), or on Flickr
- Not sure how to submit your image? Here's a guide for both methods mentioned above.
- A preview image must be representative of the full-size image. Do not add effects to it.
- Please use a clickable-preview to full-size, not a separate text link for it; it makes poll creation much easier!
- No heavy post-game editing, slight enhancing is allowed.

MANDATORY PICTURES

- You have to post a front quarter view and a rear quarter view of your car.
- You can choose between the Shiretoko 03 location or the White Sands 01/09 locations. No other location will be allowed for the main pics.

If it's your first entry or if you struggle with the picture settings, have a look at the tutorials below :

FINAL ENTRY

Castrol edge ford rally with m-sport

Malcolm Wilson's m-sport rally team will start the 2020 season has a full Ford factory team sponsored by Castrol using the new Ford Mustang rally car, he hopes to get back to the top.

After winning the drivers titles in both 2017 and 2018 M sport rally team had a disappointing 2019 when there star driver and 6x world champion Sebastian Ogier left for Citroen for 2019. With a disappointing year behind them the team was surprisingly contacted by ford to run there full factory backed effort in the WRC for 2021 with the second half of 2019 and 2020 spent developing a new WRC car based on the Mustang aimed to put the marque back on top. The cars will be ran by Msport under the Shelby performance banner in order to drum up more advertising for the brand. The team still retains their remaining star driver and future champion Elfyn Evans as part of there unconfirmed full lineup of drivers.

Shame I can't send you one to save the credits, PD seems to think I need a new one every month or so :lol:.

:D It's just typical, I spent a ton on the LaFerrari for a recent LEC then didn't use it and now I have about 20,000 credits and need 350,000 for this Mustang?

Time to grind....

Can I update the rule of the number board... if you don’t think the main board fits the livery, which I highly agree with a lot of the time, I will allow a regular entry in the main pictures, and in the bonus picture, for the still image, apply the number board?

So your 2 main images can be number board free, and your bonus still image can show the number board.

As long as the livery works with the sport mode numbers it's fine?

I know I'm fairly new to this little corner of GTPlanet, so please hear me out .

Part of the challenge of this contest is that it must be Sport mode compatible. Depending on your interpretation of this, your choice of how to go about it alters. I thought the part about using the provided sticker as optional made sense. And I feel changing that changes the whole thing.
You don't change rules to suit entries, you enter things which meet the rules, otherwise what is the point of having the rule in the first place!?

With that said. I am always in favour of amendments being made and I'll offer my interpretation of what I see as "Sport Mode compliant" 👍.

I would say a custom number sticker the same size in the same places is a big YES.
A plate that adds to the sticker when applied is a big YES.
A design where the application of the stickers makes a minimal impact on the design is a YES (making use of a negative space or only really covering up the background etc. is good.)

But if the application of the stickers covers a significant part of a "main sponsor" logo, it's always a no go as far as I'm concerned.
And the biggest NO of all in my book, is using a different number sticker in another place. It looks daft when there are two sets of stickers with two different numbers on the cars in sport/arcade/league mode races :yuck:.
That last point has exceptions for certain livery types (gumball cars, replicas, etc.)

Just my two pennies 👍.

Edit: Speaking of amendments :sly:, as for the driver name element. I see nothing wrong with the "normal" rally style double driver stickers, as well as the provided one. or instead of 👍

If anyone's interested I can share the two names from my livery, I just did the flags separately.
