lets up the vote count from 3 👍Even without these two, I think it’s worth questioning.
It’s been a while since we got so many entries (37 so far!) so for this time, do you want to have more choices for the poll?
4, 5, or stay with 3 as usual?
And thanks everyone for your feedback

I think we should stay with 3 votes. The more vote choices you add, I feel devalues the choices.

The God of Decals hits the comp
You will have to dive deeply into the unknown world of vector graphics. You will have to use adequate vector tools. You will have to ask for help. And you will grow with your challenge. The more I look at both you'res and @Cytoria entries the less I understand how you're able to put the decals together to make these liveries work. I understand the concept of making SVG's but have totally failed in all attempts at even the most basic of shapes/images...
I totally agree with that point, I could vote for your amazing work or want to give a point to someone else who deserve it to my opinion.OR, they will vote strategically for 3 others, thinking « they will have enough », and those will not receive the real amount of votes they could have.
Is this still open for entries?
Just curious because I thouth the deadline was yesterday.
I won’t be able to launch the poll before Friday evening so feel free to update your liveries/pictures.
And if someone want to use the delay to post an entry, I’m fine too.
@SouperK great job! Achieving the mask of such thin and precise lines, on a Gr.1 car, well done!
It is indeed White Sands as Shiretoko is less attractive for special colours. What are your settings for the scapes images, is it white sands, I just can't get my images to pop as yours do?

I’ve boosted EV to +1,2.
The background mask is the same as the OP.
Settings of the car mask : Saturation 115, Brightness 150, Contrast 120, Black correction -3.
Also color temperature 6000K and chromatic correction 0,065 to get rid of the yellowish lighting (but not efficient enough).
The key feature for the hood decal is duplicate/replace. Without this, the different parts and layers wouldn’t be perfectly aligned when stacked.
I did the hood decal set in Inkscape twice (not including the one I tried for my first attempt) because I wasn’t satisfied with the quality of the first batch. Then I can’t count how many times I placed/sized/scaled the set on the hood. And as you couldn’t see the result until the last layer, that means 22 decals to place each time .
I know Inkscape better now, but the key for the hood was quantity : the more parts I have, the more details they can contain. The automated scan of the hood picture gave me a 500kB decal after going through SVGOMG, then I manually deleted nodes and sliced them to fit the 15kB limit.
The main pattern was tricky too. As I said, I needed to find enough boxes to create the pattern and to understand how it was imbricated. To be sure that this was completed I made the full paving, then selected the shapes individually to respect the 15kB size again.

I even made a cut version, in case I wanted to have the pattern in silver, but it eventually looked better the other way round, with transparent decals keeping the Aluminium shine of the body.
