Tomorrow, I'll set aside some time to come up with my own take on this beastie. I bought alba's graphics from his F3 store, and I'll see about copying them by hand so I can play with them - his are locked. Or maybe I could gift him an Altezza he could slap them on and give back. I'll ponder this tomorrow.

The thing is, I wanna work on this in collaboration with people! The only way to pass around livery stuff without being locked is to gift them so we need to add each other gamertag and work like that

It's probably not much use,

but I do have this.. (The Logo, not the car )

I can certainly gift it over for you to use, it has a lot of masking (was getting to grips with the editor hence why the black background, but would be easy to change this to whatever background colour you want..

No biggie if it's not suitable, it's not 100% accurate, and was a first attempt at a logo, but it's been a nice seller on my storefront as just a logo..

Yeah it can be annoying, mine isn't clipped but it was a bitch to make. I want to make the glossy gradient version too unclipped but that's goign to take quite a bit of time

Ok so here are some of my vinyl groups:

I want to make a few alternative version for like hood and back bumper we'll see, need some ideas (circle version too).

GTPlanet "Showroom" License Plate
I want to make something like this as a placeholder until you want to paste your own license plate on top or replace it but kinda like Gran Turismo does it, having the car's model name on the place except in this case it'd be GTP obviously.

Gran Turismo Symbol (32 layers)

I'm going to make a colored version and also remake the whole typography, the default forza font works for "THE REAL DRIVING SIMULATOR" but for "GRAN TURISMO" it doesn't look close at all, imo.

European License Plates
Currently, I'm remaking my belgian one and Im going to make european ones based on requests I guess. It's just a (re)work in progress right now.

Japanese License Plate (142 layers)

First one I found on wikipedia, I wanted to use the gunma prefecture symbol at the top to have a nice little Initial D reference but couldn't find the symbol + numbers combination.

Currently playing with a few different options to do a basic website url, for this I just combined the gtplanet text with default font www. & .net. We'll see how it goes )

I think it needs to be something smaller, something similar in size to those Nurburgring stickers that people have on there cars which they purchase when visiting the track.

nice work, I was thinking about making a car with the red ring of death on it, but this is way better, though isn't it possible to share designs which can be edited, now implementing the gtplanet logo's is kind off limited due to all kind of restrictions. posted a picture of my NSX on the storefront, though it's quite boring so far...

Xbox360 is much more closed than PS3. MS doesn't allow transfer of any media files to/from the HDD. This limits the photo and video modes of Forza 3.

Ok, here's the start of my next creation (I got Tenacious D doing some GTP livery work on the side, I'll give you my design if you want to use it as a base or just want to see how I did things)

I call it the 370Z A-Spec: (very early but i'm starting to do the shapes)

Don't look at the base paint color, it's now blue and I want to inspiration by the Celica GT-Four Rally car with the castrol livery and make it "blue/red" instead of "red/green" and using other shapes ofcourse, we'll see how it looks down the road. I encourage everyone to start working on GTP liveries! The more the better XD

I always thought putting images into the game was an attempt to make graphic porn more difficult to put into the game..

Yeah, but I think he meant that you can't save pictures and videos from Forza 3 as such on your hard drive to copy to other devices, like how you could save pictures from GT4 onto a USB device. The only way to take them outside of the game itself is to upload them to your storefront.

I put a new GTPgt numbering sticker on my storefront, FR me if you want it unlocked it's yellow bar with gtplanet text + gt symbol try to make it a bit more racing inspired. I'm almost done with a GTP Racing license plate too, will put it on my storefront asap, I just got gradients and so on to fix.

alba distracted me with some online racing for about an hour or so (don't race with him, he's crash happy).

But seriously, after struggling to get gifting (and receiving worked out - gah, MS!), I toyed around with his logos. Hats off to him for making a nifty GT logo, he had to fuss with a lot of shapes to get that complex G-curve right. I tried to simplify it a bit, bad habit I developed since Forza 1. I then spent the WHOLE freaking day making decals, most of it on a PlayStation font I finally managed to get looking decent, and called it a night on a SONY logo. Those missing vinyls from Forza 1 would have really come in handy for that stupid S.

Still not sure what to do with my livery, but I have a freshly blanked Silvia to start on in the morning. Gah... after I fix that SONY logo...

I finished my first design today and shared it with alba... after he tried to destroy it in some online racing, the cad!

But seriously, his decal work came in very handy. He's probably enjoying a few I made for my design, that is, assuming my livery gift actually got through for a change. I have to hang out with some friends this evening, but I'll see about snapping a few photos of it tomorrow morning to share. His designs are also coming along nicely, and I'm looking forward to them.

Don't be afraid to join in the fun. alba is freely sharing decals, and the ones I made are available too. Throw on some decals, add a racing stripe or two, a number, and you have a race car!

Maybe I missed something but is the livery specifically for one model of car? The 370Z for instance. I'd love to be involved as I'm quite handy with the livery editor and have a good eye for design (in fact it's a side job of mine). So let me know and I'll rustle up a couple of ideas.

basically for starters we're just doing specific cars then when we come up with enough good ideas or something we feel like should be the default livery for all cars then we can start adapting from there? I don't know it's all about coming up with liveries right now however you want to do them, specific cars or not

Yeah, do anything you want. You can usually adapt a livery's theme to any car from another. Might take hecks work sometimes, but that's life.

In my case, I did a livery on an S15 Silvia, and I'm gonna mess with Skylines, 300, 350 and 370Zs, Supras, Subarus, Mitsus, BMWs, Ferraris, race cars... so as you can see, I'll have a full plate over the coming weeks. Oh yes, and hit up alba for those decals. His are superb.

I don't have an Xbox, and just can't justify spending the necessary money to play only one racing game, without a wheel, for a few months. If it did support the G25, I'd probably do it - I'm terribly curious to see what the game is like.

I love the way the color flows with the edge of the headlight. But, will such livery will work for all different types of cars?

Any livery could work with any car, it's just a matter of adapting some shapes to work the same way!
