Is there a chance of getting PSN banned for editing GT5/6 save files? I know we can't play online anymore, I'm just wondering if the PS3 is still somehow checking if your game content lines up with your PSN purchase history.

I know I could stop connecting to the internet with my PS3, but I still want to occasionally sync my trophies and save games.

i am getting this error "unable to read the save data tree. is the save corrupted?" i double checked and no its not the save file itself
What editor are you using?

Although it is a violation of section 5.14 in the PSN Code of Conduct, you won't get banned and I don't think they have any way of finding out your editing a save game from a game that's been offline for years anyways. I've used save editors with the game for over a decade now and have never been banned.

Thanks, that's all I wanted to hear. If someone has done it for ages without problems, it's probably safe.

I wouldn't think too much of it personally. I actually used an x2010 5G in an online race once and later took an x2010 on dirt right before the servers shut down and nothing ever happened to me.

I got the DLC of GT5 from the GT5 save editor but apparently I still need to install the DLCs? I get the car tickets but when I open the cars in my garage it tells me I can't use it because I need to install the car pack even though I pressed install on the DLCs in the Save Editor and tried again multiple times. The cars show up in my garage but I can only select 'Add to favorites' or 'Delete'. When I press 'Add to favorites', it tells me I need to install that car pack even though the Save Editor says they've been installed. I was playing the newest version of GT5 and I have the XL Edition version of the game. Do I need to delete the game and reinstall the game and stop installing the updates up to update 2.11 to fix this issue or are the updates not an issue as far as not being able to access all of the cars because the game says they're not installed?

In order for the DLC to work, you have to check the box for “Persist DLC’s without license files (vou)“ in the DLC tab and of course, save.

This can be done on any update ranging from 2.11 to 2.17, though someone just told me it works on 2.07 as well. 2.11 is what I recommend, but it’s not strictly necessary. If you’re on 2.12 or higher though, be warned, the Red Bull Charity C pack won’t work right since the car included with it was removed on 2.12.

Thank you, this fixed my issue. I have a YouTube (AMS KungPao) and I was wondering if I can make a video on this method of how to easily get all of the DLC of Gran Turismo 5 for free in 2023? I wonder if I will get in trouble for it since it is getting DLC for free when people used to have to pay for it but since that isn't possible anymore should I be fine? I haven't made a video in a while and I want to start making them again but with mainly Gran Turismo 5 content for a little while until going back into GT7 (not my direct plan but it's probably how things will work out). GT7 has gotten pretty old though and I'm having so much more fun on GT5 and I'll probably keep enjoying GT5 more for months as it is the superior game. Yes, I just made a GTPlanet account yesterday just to comment here because I really wanted to know what was happening with the DLC.

Glad it did! :)

Sure, go ahead!

I wouldn't worry about it, the fact not even GTPlanet has an issue with my tutorial existing, I think you'll be fine.

I get that. Thank you for at least sticking around long enough so I could answer you, I've had some people who would sign up here just to report an issue and/or ask for help, only to quickly leave before I could even answer them and never come back again. I'm glad I was able to help you with your problem and hope you enjoy your DLC. 👍

By the way, disregard what I said about it working on 2.07. I didn't realize until later on some DLC wasn't introduced until 2.10, so you'll probably have to be on that update or higher to get them all. I ain't tried getting them all on 2.10 though, so no guarantee on that.

I'm playing on 2.11 right now, I deleted the game and redownloaded it and it has all the DLC as far as I know. With how I was ~90% done with downloading all the updates in totality when the game was at version 2.11, I'm guessing the rest of the updates are either just UI changes or bug fixes so I think 2.11 has all the DLC. I also wanted to get the X2010 JP Flag Color and everything's working out. It's a shame all of my replays are gone now, probably something you should've mentioned on the tutorial webpage you made with how to modify your game file with the save game editor but I'm not too bummed out by it. I'll mention this in my video with the replays disappearing.

It does.

The rest of the updates did little more than remove hidden content like the x2010 JP Flag Color and patch hybriding and the latest one is pointless. Theirs no need to go beyond 2.11 because they honestly take more away than anything else.

Good! :)

To be honest, I don't recall saying anything about downgrading in that thread, but yes if you delete your game data, you'll lose everything in it including photos, replays, and course maker tracks. Photos and replays can be extracted from the game data within GT5 though.

Oh ok, I misunderstood what type of data replays were a part of. I thought they were a part of save game data and not game data. It makes sense how they got deleted then. Thank you for helping me out :)

3. Car parameter editor. Clicking on a car in your garage will allow you to view all its data. Here, you can do pretty much everything to your car that was available in GE and a lot more that I didn't even know existed. I will admit, I do still prefer GE for making hybrids for its UI and ability to swap parts quickly, but it has its limits and if theirs anything I can't do with it, well this allows me to do that.

Hello again :) This car parameter editor was what I meant when I wrote the last reply in the dlc thread. I think I accidentally clicked on some of these parameters and I was just wondering if I unintentionally changed some of the values, and if the values change when you click on them and then say scroll down the page, or if you have to type in the new values on the keyboard. I didn't remember the default values so I couldn't check if the values had changed or not. I didn't click file-save though, I just quit the window, so maybe there is no change then? :)

It’s been a minute since I used it again, but I am pretty sure you have to enter a value in order to change it and click save in order for the changes to be applied in the car parameter editor. And of course, lastly you have to save the save game once you’re done messing around with it.

Hi there. So I came across this thread back in 2023 or 2022 and I once tried this method and got very excited when I got the racing car pack working which involved the X2011 and the racing modified cars that had TC at the end of the name. I was more into the X2011 tbh lol. But anyway, so then I thought "If I could get this, why can I not get Route X!?" See i've been struggling getting that to work all because of this stupid error. Keep in mind my version of this game is 2.01. And here's the thing, when this error shows after clicking DLC, I press continue and then click on the full screen button (when I open it, it's not full screen) and it shows up. I find "Speed test pack" click on it, press install and the error shows up again. I ignore it by pressing continue again and pressing X to close it and supposedly it says it has been installed. Now idk if it is suppose to show "Mark as installed" as it did in your POV but it didn't for me. But the main point is after I deal with that error I do the rest of the process correctly and the pack just doesn't show up for some reason. Again it doesn't make sense, if I can get the racing car pack why can't I not get this!? I will say tho, I think i've been dealing with this error ever since the first time I used it or maybe not. But that's somewhat besides the point. Please respond when you can, it's been an absolute dream to have route X on GT5, i've seen many videos from like 2011-2012 (Nostalgia) and I just want this to work.

Oh, btw here's even more proof, lately i've been messing with the credits and all you do is hold the arrow up and input whatever amount you want, and it works! Managed to get the regular X2010 for the first time which costed 20 million dollars AND actually before I forget to mention I also increased the B-Spec level from 39 to 40 and that worked out as well. So what the world man???

I have a screenshot of the error pasted in here.

P.S My one hunch to this problem is that, it's possible the GT5 Save editor needs to be updated.

Maybe, but reading over what you posted here and the fact you encountered it on the GT6 editor as well makes me wonder if your PC may be lacking one of the editor's dependencies it needs to run reliably. Though it's interesting to me how you were able to get the racing car pack but not this. Whenever you come back on, something I'd like to know is:
1. What version of the editor are you using?
2. Have you tried running the editor on another computer?
3. Is there an error.txt file in the folder the editor is located in? If so, can you please post it here?
Expand the 'Details' section and copy that - that message is a generic one to say an error has occurred, but the Details bit shows what the error actually is.
4. Follow what Pez here. Also, if you post another screenshot, there are two options once it's uploaded, one is to insert it as a thumbnail or full image, choose full image so we can see the screenshot more easily.

1. "GT5 Save Editor (latest version is v0.0.10.3)" That is what im using
2. (figured you would ask that) Yes
3. Ahhh after looking I couldn't find anything like that - Screenshots to prove it below

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

I have 0 clue of what this all means xd. Also, I think saw something in the GT6 DLC thread that someone said run the editor as administrator. I haven't tried that yet. Should I?

I can't say I know either. Fortunately I have notified him about it and he says your save is missing a table of some sort that every save should have and he requests that you post your save game here. I am not too sure what this table is, but apparently, it is needed in order to work with the editor and possibly other editors too.

Thank you very much for taking the time to post all this, it really helps him find the source of the problem and hopefully resolve it if needed.

Well that wasn't a GT6 DLC thread, it was a thread for the garage editor for the game, but yes, I would try running it as an admin.

If you right-click the folder named BCUS98114-GAME, hover over to "Send to" and then click "Compressed (zip) folder". This will create a zip file containing your save. Once that's done, you upload it here just like you would with pictures.

Ok so I had trouble uploading this as the way I would with pictures (click insert image up top and paste it here) so I have this MEGA link that should work out the same way. This link is to my save game.

Theirs no insert option with zip files like there is with pictures, so attaching it is all that is needed. What you did is also fine though and thank you very much for sharing it!

The creator should have an answer shortly.

From what I can see, your save doesn't have the t_key_value table which is what's needed for the DLC persisting trick to work. Your t_garage table is also missing the invalid column which basically is set to true when you have a DLC car in garage while not allowed to use it (the yellow exclamation mark). I went ahead and checked my own saves from every version and it seems like both of these things were added in the 2.02 version and your save is from 2.01 version. So I believe if you update your game to 2.02 -> save your game -> try again, it should work.

That said, I would really recommend updating all the way to the 2.11 patch because there's more content there and it's all around the best version for modding.
