Miscellaneous:

Canon D10
Pocketwizard

I no longer use my EOS 40D or my EOS 10D so I didn't list them in my previous post. I just use them for fun and trying out different techniques or if I'm too lazy since my other equipment is too heavy.

I have an assortment of backdrops and lights as well which I won't post here.

The most important lenses to me are Canon's "holy trinity" lenses which are the 85L, 35L and the 70 - 200L.

I'm currently saving up for either an EF 200mm f/2.0 L IS USM "telephoto" lens or an EF 400mm f/2.8 L IS USM "telephoto" lens and an EF 17mm TS-E L USM "tilt-shift" lens...

Whoa that is awesome Asane

As for me I(my dad) have(has) a canon eos 50D (but I use it 80% of the time)
The older camera that is now mine since my dad has the 50D is a powershot g3.
Very nice camera. Might be a bit big, but it takes good everyday pictures.

Vacation camera ftw :D

My humble start:

Canon 500D
EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS

Konica Minolta Dimage Z2 (old camera - now the kids')

Nikon Coolpix S210 (wife's)

oh man, thst's just toooo much stuff.. do you use it regularly?

Yup all are used reqularly, with the exception of my 2 "normal EF" lenses except my fisheye and my 40D and especially my 10D which is barely used now.

I just keep them I guess because of the sentimental value...

One bloody day and it's already growing.

Canon 500D
EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS
EF 50mm f/1.8 II

Why have I never posted in here?

Anyway, this is my gear:

- Canon EOS 450D
- Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4.5
- Canon 70-200mm F/4L
- Sigma 50mm f/1.4
- Sigma 30mm f/1.4

And of course some 'small' stuff like filters, memory cards, a bag, etc.

Still on my wish list is an ultra-wide angle lens and a macro lens. For macro I am considering to get a Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM, for ultra-wide I'm looking at a Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5 EX DC HSM. Not getting those any time real soon though.

From left to right:
Canon EF 300mm f/2.8 L IS USM
Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS USM
Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 L IS USM Macro
Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8 L II USM

The image was taken with the EOS 5D Mark II and a Canon EF 35mm f/1.4 L USM.

I had to look on Flickr to see what I use:

Olympus C725UZ: The old Bridge, laying beside me when driving. 8X zoom, 3 Mpix
Panasonic DMC-FZ18: The newer Bridge, mostly on holidays. 18X zoom, 8 Mpix
=> Haze filter (leave it permanently on), Circular Polar filter (for colours in full sun)
Very cheap, but light 1 mini and 1 big tripod

Mainly do point and shoot for the links in my signature (when I change the shutter opening on the bridge, I generally have trouble afterwards to get it to a normal setting again). http://www.flickr.com/photos/47144572@N02/

One of my recent favorits:

I was actually looking into buying a Canon SX210IS to replace the Olympus (without a stabilizer is a pain to spot cars on the road and without tripod the Olympus makes it almost impossible in low light conditions to get a decent shot + to bulky on walks).

I've had one of these from the very start of my photography...erm I was going to say career, but it isn't really a career yet. Excellent bag, couldn't want more from it. Great purchase. 👍

So far the only problem I have with it is I don't have enough gear to utilize all the space it has. A problem I'm sure I can tackle over the next few years. ;)

Also, the ultimate reason I threw down for it despite not "needing" all the space is it will hold the camera gear, laptop*, medications, snacks, etc. while we're at Disneyworld. I can't believe I willingly volunteered to be the pack mule...

*laptop will obviously be left in the room once we're there

Canon Powershot A710 IS
Lowepro Apex 30 AW

Pentax P30 35mm film SLR (1985)

Takumar 28-80mm f/3.5-4.5
Sigma 70-210mm f/4-4.6

The SLR was given to me by my father in law...at least I don't think he wants it back ;) Does anyone know if the body and lenses any good? I've since been told by my wife her dad gave it to her so I'm only borrowing it from her!

Also could anyone recommend a decent black and white film bearing in mind I don't have a flash and want to take portraits and outdoor shots?

Ilford HP5 should do the job, all photo shops will stock it but it can be much cheaper buying for a retailer on eBay, that's how I got my 120mm HP5 for a fraction of the retail price.

Thanks Tom, I always forget to check ebay 👍

I was considering Ilford XP2 as it can be processed as colour film, do you know if this will give similar results or is it best to go with a "proper" B&W film?

Also would you, or anyone else in the UK, be able to recommend a mail order film processing company? I don't want to go to Tesco but I also don't want to pay a fortune hence the reason for considering XP2 film.

Cheers

Neal

Haven't been around in a while, figured I'd update. I'm now using the AF-S 24-70 f/2.8 very heavily, along with the 85mm f/1.8D, which I love. I'm also doing some video work, and I'm in the market for both a new studio lighting setup (thinking Elinchrom Ranger Quadra right now, since I'm mostly a location shooter) and a full-frame body. Just can't decide whether to go with a D700, a used D3, or just splurge on a D3s.

If you want a full frame sensor in a compact body go for the D700. It has the same sensor as the D3 so there is not much of a reason to go for the D3. Although , if you do alot of sports , go for the D3s.

Not nearly as awesome kit as you :

D700
24-70 F/2.8
50mm F/1.8
14-24 F/2.8
70-300 F/4.5-5.6

MB-D10 Batterypack

Manfrotto Tripod
Super cheap Hama tripod

SB-900 flash
3 CF Extreme Pro 16GB cards

Lowepro Slingshot 200AW Black

I'm looking into a mini studio setup for product photography and waiting till the new 85mm price drops. This christmas i'm going to buy some new filters. Like the ND110 for long exposure shots.
