Just curious, why do you still keep the 18-55 that probably came with the 350D giles?
The 16-35 and 24-70 cover that focal range and a bit more and provide much better quality.
My guess is either:
A) you only keep it so it can go with the 350D if you decide to upgrade backup bodies or
B) It saves you carrying an extra lens if you know you'll need as close as 18 but as long as 55
If its the latter, why not get a 17-85, it has IS and USM and a much longer range, better image quality and its made better too. The only real
setback is that its f4 rather than f3.5, but the IS makes up for that in low light anyway...

Planning to pick up both a Sigma 10-20mm and an EF 70-300mm IS USM if i can afford it soon.
