Chapter 12: Graduation!
Josh and Yumi are at school to complete their clearance forms, so they can go on vacation. As usual, being the lazy scholar, Josh lost his books and he must find them before the day ends.
"Yumi! Have you completed your clearance?"
"Yup! You?"
"So I guess you can leave the school already?"
"Uh..... I guess so. You're not complete yet?"
"Nope. I lost my books, so I need to find them first."
"Good luck with that!"

Josh goes around the school.
"God.... Where did I leave it...."
"Joshua Takeshi!"
"Huh? Who could tha-"
"MR.TETSUJIN!"
"Yes... Good that you remember my name. Are you looking for something?"
"Well... Actually, my books are missing.."
"Ah.. So sad... I could clear you for this school year. For a price."

"Well... I kinda do.... Whats your price anyway?"
"I drive a Mercedes AMG SLS in red. I also have a date tonight. What should I wear to impress a girl?"
"Um... You're asking me for date advice sir?"
"As bad as it sounds... Yes. I'm asking you for date advice. You better not tell the other sophomores, or else I will make your life a living hell next school year."
"*thinking* Woah.... The scariest teacher, Mr. Tetsujin, is asking me for date advice.... Hah! I could have some fun with this!"
"Erm, well since you already have the cool car, I was thinking a red velvet suit with matching red leather hat. You should also wear red sunglasses, red boots and a hot pink nosering. That sir, will get you good points with the ladies!"
"Alright then. Mr. Takeshi, you are DECLINED for clearance!"
"WHAT!? Why?"
"You tried to fool me... Anyway, thats not the real question. The real question is..."
"Yes sir?"
"To be honest, I want to try street racing. I can't find a lot of performance parts for my SLS locally. Could you point me out to a tuner shop?"
"Oh, sure sir. Here's a card. I always go here for parts."
"Shino Speed huh? Thanks.. What do you drive?"
"Um, a Skyline R34 GT-R sir."
"Wow... Okay then. You are CLEARED! Now go home and enjoy your summer vacation!"
"Thank you sir! I hope to see you on the wangan!"
"Yes... You will see my tailights."
"*thinking* Woah.... A teacher that races on the wangan.... Pretty cool..."

Josh goes to the parking lot. Yumi is inside the Vitz, waiting for Josh.
"You actually found your books?"
"Well.... No. Mr. Tetsujin asked me if I knew a tuner place for his car, and I referred him to Shino Speed. After that, he cleared me."
"Haha! Nice! Oh... My friend is migrating to the states, and she asked me if I wanted to buy her car for 1,000,000yen."
"Really? What car?"
"She said it was a Mazda RX-7. Is that car good?"
"Woah!? An RX-7 for 1 million yen? Isn't that a bit expensive?"
"Well, she tuned it to 400hp... I wanted to practice drifts with it."
"Hmm.... Okay then. Its alright with me!"
"Okay! Do you want to see it with me?"
"Well, I kinda need to take a nap for the battle later.."
"Oh alright! I'll drop you home then. I'll just bring it to our house!"

At home, Josh decides to stay on the couch and watch TV.

Josh hears a raspy exhaust note outside. He goes outside to look. To his surprise, the RX-7 Yumi bought, was not a regular RX-7. Its a model tuned by RE Amemiya.

"Do you know what this is?"
"Uh... Yeah. Its an RX-7."

"Well, my friend did say it came from a Tuner shop..."
"Who's your friend?"
"Oh, Aoi Yoshihara? Shes in my section?"
"Isn't her brother a D1 drifter?"
"I don't know... Why?"
"This is an RX-7 tuned by RE Amemiya. Its D1GP material. It has about 400hp. Did you try it out?"
"Yup! On Eiger! It handles pretty good!"
"Damn..... You got it at a pretty good price too!"
"Well she had to sell it quickly... Oh, wanna go for a ride? Your battle is at 1:30 anyway right?"
"Sure! Where do you wanna go?"
"Let's do Route 5!"
"Sure! Show me how she handles!"

"You sure you want to do it?"
"Yup!"

"Well, it was just easy, since it was instant Miso soup... All you do is add hot water, then you're good to go.."

"Well, suddenly I've been dreaming of the day my dad died... I don't know why. Its like the battle tonight has something to do with it..."

"Um... The GT-R is a very fast car.. The ride may get a bit rough."

Josh and Yumi get in the R34. Josh puts the key in ignition, and starts it. The sound of the Twin Turbo RBX-GT2 Engine echoes throughout Gion.
"Let's do this R34..."
"*thinking* Incredible.... Just riding in the car gives you an idea of how powerful this car really is..."
Josh and Yumi leave Gion. Soon, they reach the Wangan.

Suddenly, a set of headlights appear behind the R34.

Josh floors the R34, but the car overtakes him. Its the Shadow of Route 7."

"Yup. He's known as the "Shadow of Route 7" because of how powerful his RUF- tuned Porsche is."

The Porsche and the GT-R reach the end of the tunnel. The battle is ended with a draw.

"BILL!? I thought you were in Germany already! What the hell is going on!?"
"Josh. Remember how I said dad was always with us?"

A man in a black helmet gets out of the Porsche.
"Who's that?"
The man removes the helmet. It is Josh's dad. Richard Takeshi.
"Hello son. Its been awhile."
"......"
"...Huh?"
"....Dad?"
"Yes.."
"But how?"
"The Yakuza was after me. I somehow pissed their boss off, I didn't want our family to get into it. So I left town first. I only told Bill and your mom. I stayed with Mr. Shino, the one who tuned your R34. The Yakuza weren't after me anymore, so I thought I would go back to our family."
"I can't believe it....I missed you dad.."
"I missed you too son..."
Josh ran to his dad with tears in his eyes, and hugged him.
"I'm not leaving again Josh. I promise."
"I love you dad."
"I love you too son."
