What time do you want racing to start on a sunday

OK guys little report:

Mazda Autozam Az-1 410pp

The car is faster than I was expecting... with the same settings that I used last race in laguna I was making 1.43 as best laps (1.39 with around 450pp last weekend)

Then I tested in the highspeed ring with normal weather, just changed the final drive to match a better top-speed to this circuit (220kph): my top speed was 205kph just before the first corner you need to break and my times were very stable at 1.23 (1.23.05 as best lap) and 1.24 when I messed up a little. If I lower the ride here maybe it goes a bit faster.

If you can test your cars with this amount of pp in both circuits and post your times we can see if they got more close than it was before.

cheers

Online testing

Information for all drivers please read!!

The PP is now set to 430 for each race, at the end of the first championship season the cars which are overpowered will be banned. From now on you cannot change cars or colors, and the race rules are now locked and will not be changed.

Happy racing Coxbox.

Edit realised changing Aero effects pp, the Cervo has a max pp of 430, therefore all cars must not exceed this :).

The PP gets lowered and still the cuore is the fastest, what do you expect when you have almost 200hp. :D

Hi coxbox,

great I think the gap will be closer. I also noticed that more you lower the pp closer is the gap and it keeps cars characteristics. I think it could be a good idea to try one time, even if just in training for future editions, 410pp or even 400pp, and like that maybe all k-cars could be allowed to race.

Cheers all and races were great till now so it just can get better anyway we decide to go! see you all!

I wish i had something to add. Im not gonna change cars, BUT i am gonna test other ones simultaneously. I did this with our practice race, i tried out the Autozam , the Suzuki Kei works (which i actually liked), my OFC and Mitsubishi Dangan(i think that's what its called.) to see what there characteristics are on each track.Im gonna add the cervo, mira/cuore and the one Daihatsu 4wd to my testing list. Perhaps knowing where my car is lackin compared to yours and compensate for it.

I don't know what major effects down force has, but my car does not have that feature, and i think it helps. I'm not bitching, just discussing. Also, i noticed, first 5 laps, no matter my starting position, im always 1st/2nd/3rd, then one by one i lost ground and positions. Someone mentioned consistency and that is very much my objective for my practice sessions and especially racing. I DON'T WANT TO BE IN THE BOTTOM 3. That is my goal.

Sorry Ophie, I gotta disagree with that. I ran the first race with no aero, and didn't run the last race with aero, but turned completely down...:grumpy: I'm gonna remove the aero package before the next race.

Do you use a wheel or the controller?

Controller. I figured it either added grip or top speed. Fly wheels add no pp but improve shifting response, but aeros effect the pp level and dont add anything? That was my thinking.

Think about it. You're driving a front wheel drive car. It's natural tendency is going to be to push. Not really a need for more grip in the rear, right?

Unless you listened to some halfbaked idea otherwise...

I asked about the trans because the manual shifts faster, but when I was still using the controller I used the auto too. Too much going on with the left hand...:dopey:

Hi Ophi,

back downforce gives you more grip but less speed, and mostly works for rear wheel cars like greestlightin told you before. Also there are tracks where some cars are better than others and some driving styles that adapt better to some cars than others.

Appart of that lowering pp level a bit the things but... I use a controller too, and for last race at some point I decided to use manuals, it just took me a day to adapt and I gained at least a second per lap... I still do some mistakes I wouldn't with automatic but it is feeling more and more natural... anyway i never drive automatic real cars so. If I could I would use also a steering wheel, more natural to drive and again probably another second but I am happy this way and maybe not much of a difference, don't know... never tried a real car with a controller pad...lol... anyway if you see the times posted in our new lounge they are closer with 426pp, and probably even with equal cars for everybody some people would go faster anyway... I am still battling to close my gap with the cervos, and it didn't happen last race - I was in front pack for a while - because I managed to go out of track 1 or 2 times.

Anyway, if you see you have faster best laps than me so, I wouldn't be too worried, just keep going trying and things go better sometimes, others... well, life is hard.:)

Hi coxbox and all,

unfortunately I will miss the new races, I was hoping to make this one but it will be impossible. This weekend I'll be out for work, then next two weeks will be out on vacations. Will be probably back for tsukuba or Deep forest, but by the end of August will be out a week again for work. Next week I will probably show up for testing in our lounge during midweek.

So, at least next three races I'm out. I will miss these races with you guys, it is being great to meet you all, so will be back to the k-car championship as soon as possible.

PS: Cervos, I'll be back!

see you all soon, leaving tomorrow so maybe we meet at the lounge yet.

Cheers and great racing for all

Nice! ill come in one position higher! Just make sure to have fun while your out.

How many people are definetly coming tommorow for testing? and are we just gonna do Kcartuninglounge's lounge?

I am sorry you can not race over the coming weeks, make sure you keep in touch though, over then that have fun and dot work too hard, cya when your back or when you ares testing.

You are probably doing something wrong considering we are running the SAME car.

Why, then, do you always reference my Cuore instead of your Mira?

BTW, with the right configuration, I could reach 201...

👍

Out the window now...

hey cervo drivers, have tried the cervo on the high speed ring?how slow was it?

It was OK but the Cervo is not built for top speed, you may need to configure the gear ratios to achieve the optimal acceleration and top speed. What i found with my Cervo is the engine just runs out of steam, thus no matter what the gear ration is never can get beyond a certain speed.

is your aero completely lowered? It shouldn't affect you as much with low aero because the Cervo's are FF. you might be able to get some more top speed that way.

Yeah I have lowered it a little, I think I left it on about ten, halfway. I may do some more test Sunday morning before the race to see if lowering it more lowers drag and increases top speed a little.

Edit: I think if I remember correctly, I can hit between 120-130Mph.
