The little things that you find ANNOYING IN GT SPORT.

That's it. I'm nowhere NEAR good enough to win that many races. That's why I don't do the online stuff. And the one for podiums? Forget that one, too. And the one for number of pole positions.

I've seen the guys that race online. They all have these setups that cost more than my damn car and do live streaming and are always winning.
You don't need an expensive rig to win. I reached the pole and win counts with a controller and automatic transmission, pinballing around D/C/B driver levels. If you want to win races and get pole positions you can easily pick one of the daily races you like and spend a lot of time practicing and racing. If you find yourself at a level where you don't have the pace to win (I'm guessing you wouldn't be a high level player in sport mode, forgive me if I'm wrong) then you can easily tank your ratings to race in lower ranked lobbies. You can also do this without disrupting anyone else's race, so you're not being dirty.

Getting these trophies in GT Sport really isn't that hard, if you put the time in.

I use a controller and won my 41st race today - you don't need a $5k setup. 100 races/20 wins would have been fair, but I dislike the level 50 trophy more. Look at the big name streamers - they are still in the 40's despite putting dozens of hours a week into the game for years. The payouts for online races are pitiful compared to what is needed to level up.

I have an expensive setup but I just do online Time Trials and I have a few players on my friends list, and they are quicker than me and they use a Controller. So just because someone like me has an expensive rig and wheel, does not mean I am going to be better than my friends when they are using a controller.

The ones that do live streaming and are always winning are most likely skilled players, and you say I'm nowhere NEAR good enough to win well you just have to improved you driving skills.
Like I said I have an expensive setup that does not mean, I am going to be heaps better than someone using a controller

Mission Challenge 5/2. Where we use the Gr.1 Alpine VGT to overtake cars before the goal. It contains Gr.3 & Gr.4 cars to overtake. Kills me, again, we can't replicate that multi-class feature the way we can in these Mission Challenges.

I don't know if I can call it a minor thing, but the rubberband AI in GT Sport is beyond ridiculous. I did a test run in custom race for FIA manufacturers cup, RBR, me in the Jag and the AI (professional) with a BMW M6. Started on hards, so do the AI. Almost spun off in the second lap, my mistake, lost almost 7 seconds. I quickly close in in two laps, when at the end of lap 3, pit for a set of mediums. In less than five laps, I overtook the AI which was lapping about 5 seconds slower than me. But as soon I overtook the AI, they started to match my pace on those used hards and even scoring a fastest lap (1:29.6) and keep a 1 second gap until the penultimate lap, when he went to the pits to refuel and I believe a new set of hards as well. In the last lap, almost 15 seconds behind, the AI smashed the fastest lap setting a 1:27.9 on a brand new hard tyres and low fuel. I take a look on the top 10 fastest laps on America region for this race and the best lap is on 1:26.3 IIRC. I don't know if a human can do the same time on Hards, but I feel very suspicious how fast the AI suddenly went to catch me after his pitstop. Anyway, the point is how slow and how fast the AI change depending of how far you are. It's almost in the same levels of NFS Underground.

Since GT7 is on the way, I hope they take a look on this and fix it, because the AI on GT Sports leaves a lot to be desired.

Yeah, the AI's ability catch up and then keep up is a bit astounding. I can pass multiple AI cars and be 10 seconds ahead of them. But if I put one side of my car off the track and lose maybe a couple MPH, they're all right there to pass me like I slowed down for a 180.

And then sometimes, it's hard as hell to catch the 1st place AI car. But after you do, and pass them, you start pulling away like you're in a car that's 2 levels above them. It's like they forget how to drive after they get passed. And this is in races with no tire wear and no fuel consumption. So I know it has nothing to do with that.

Well done! I use a controller too, and have 85 or 86 wins, and that was with automatic trans. My "setup" was the TV on a dining room chair, with me perched on the foot of my bed. Low buck all the way! I saw a pic of Mikail Hizal playing on the edge of his bed with a controller too, that was hilarious!

When doing custom races you have to remember to adjust the boost setting to off.

It annoys me that when I end up off track, it always seems to put me facing the wrong way, often shifting me into reverse then let’s me muck about for ten seconds, THEN resets me…
I see others go off track and recover so fast-wonder if ds4 works better for getting hit off track.
95 percent of time if I go off I lose 30 seconds, but others seem to always stay facing forward….
Little thing that annoys me.

I cam confirm there is supposed to be some trick to getting reset back on track faster. But I havent figured it out. I'm usually stuck losing masses of time myself.

It also seems like whenever you put a tire in the grass and the car spins it always seems to have the exact same reaction regardless of what you do with the steering.

I have one small gripe about the livery editor. I wish you could create text strings instead of doing just one letter at a time and trying to get them lined up.

I've tried using a text editor, saving as .png, uploading to a converter to save as .svg, then uploading to the Decal Uploader. But it never shows up in the game. I can see it on my computer screen. But in-game, it's just a blank box.

I wouldn't trust people with an in-game built in text editor. That would make it way too easy to type obscenities and would become a censorship nightmare.

For SVG text and images Inkscape is an excellent tool available to download. For a smaller files/short text, some online apps can do the job. There's a few of them that can be found by Googling "SVG Text generator". Also there are some tools to shrink SVG file sizes which can help in some cases.

Generally speaking converting JPG/PNG image to SVG doesn't work. The image is converted in a way but not scalable as required by GTS.

Listen up you Padawans, most of you aliens have forgotten how to handle going off the track and recovering to rejoin the race. Listen to this bottom feeder - practice, practice, practice. When you practice recovering you get better at it and believe me nobody practices this more than me (unintentionally of course). Moving from TCS 2 to TCS 0 has afforded me much of the practice I need with recovering.

Seriously I have this same problem.

I downloaded Inkscape and used it. When I originally tried to upload the .svg file, it was too big. It's 18.8kb.....and it's just text. I don't know what I did wrong, then, but I finally got it to work. I think the physical size was too big. I scaled down the work area to the same size as the text string and it made it small enough to upload. You really can't even see it on the car, but I wanted to get as close as possible to the real thing.

I used to upload a lot of decals. It's been a while so I'm not 100%. But I think this is the app I used to shrink svg files. It worked really well for some files.

When you're stretching a stint with low fuel and you eek out that last lap. And BAM! They hit you with that rediculous red low fuel warning that just rides on your horizon line until you get into the pits. Who's brilliant idea was that? I mean really?

Chase cam even looks bad in replay, it looks like there is a stake driven into the ground thru the rear bumper in which the car pivots on
I cannot express how much that annoys me watching replay/captures, it just looks so terribly wonky.
but then you lose your split times and can't tell if you're faster or slower, and where.
In Sport Mode with the sector time displayed in the MFD you can press up or down on the D-pad to toggle between "Session Best" and "Car Record" modes. As the names suggest Session Best is the current session each time you leave the pits while Car Record stores your best lap, sector times and optimal lap over all sessions, including different entry period qualifying / qualifying only sessions.

Wow, I did not know that! Very handy knowledge, thanks.
Edit: Doesn't work in daily A. I wish PD would let us use garage cars for it.

I prefer https://jakearchibald.github.io/svgomg/

Its a more visual approach to minimising SVGs, allowing you to see what is happening when you play with the myriad of options and even allows you to peek under the hood of what its actually doing to the SVG markup before you decide to download the minified file.

In Sport mode, when it's a provided car, you can't set BB before you get on track. And, they don't allow you to use a car you own with your livery. I'd rank this high in my annoyances. Maybe 8 out of 10

It does work in A race. But, it has limits to tires and time of day probably. You should have your time for this week, if you use the same car. My times at RBR in GR4s always pops up when they reuse that combo.

Yeah, it was working for me yesterday in the Megane, but not last week in the Countach for some reason.

Playing a different game, that has the "Gran Turismo" livery R35 GT-R GT3 and "The Real Driving Simulator" game that SHOULD have the same 2018 GT-R GT3, does not.

...that you can't just fill a shopping cart in the mileage store and spend a bunch of credits, instead you have to click through each of the individual ones and by them one by one.
I'll add that it shows you all items you've already bought. For a car why not, some may want multiple safety cars of the same model. But for wheels ?
