Hey guys, a few weeks ago I mentioned that I was driving a formula ford for a Friday practice. Well, yesterday was that day and it was quite a success! In my second session on track I came within 4 tenths of a second of the track record, with my best lap being a 1:11.20 and the track record being a 1:10.8! The car I was driving wasn't perfect by any means but I think that once I perfected the shifting there's no reason why I couldn't have beaten it. Overall Formula Ford is a very exciting ride, the highlight being coming around the last corner at the top of second gear with the car in a huge 4 wheel drift and literally slamming the car up into third gear and still spinning wheels... there's video that I will post later this week, but tomorrow I'm running a Spec Miata in an Enduro tomorrow!

@GT: PCars 2 should be available day 1 for download. It just takes forever for that many gigs of game to load to your HDD. Plus unless you have a 2TB+ drive, you'll fill your available PS4 space up in no time if you digitally download most of your games.

I'm still a "physical medium" guy and like to own something I can actually see on the shelf. I still buy CDs for the reason you stated: I don't like the idea of Apple owning my music collection if I decide to move to another device. At least with my CDs I can rip them to a higher resolution whenever a new technology comes along. Years ago I had friends rip everything in MP3, which is low rez as hell, then decide they no longer wanted their CDs (which I was more than happy to snag from them). When storage became cheaper, they realized how crappy MP3 sounds and asked to use the CDs to rip them again at a higher rate. I know the analogy to a game you can't copy doesn't quite fit, but at least with a game disc you can loan it to a friend to try. Can't do that with a HDD.
 
I'm going to buy the digital download. Thinking of pre-ordering a bit closer to release date.
What the difference to the Standard Edition and the Deluxe Edition though?
Was just checking and regards the pre-order bonus I'm just seeing the 4 Japanese cars and liveries offered for both.

Thanks Gutterboy. Somehow I missed this (the Season Pass etc) when checking the Deluxe Edition:
"DIGITAL DELUXE EDITION: Includes the full game, the aforementioned Japanese Cars Pack, all Project CARS 2 Season Pass content (as mentioned above) plus the Season Pass bonus exclusive Motorsport Cars Pack."

Guess I'll be buying the Deluxe Edition then. A good bit more expensive but worth it in the long run I guess.

This B.O.B. is the same, Old school. Give me something I can touch and see. I actually pre purchased last night on Amazon. Also, if you have Amazon Prime you can save 20%. The downfall is I will have to wait for the UPS man to deliver. I hope his truck does not break down on the 22nd.

I will buy the season pass online.
 
Thanks for the replies and info, it's a big help. And there's where I get confused by the todays gaming world -they just give you so many options you get lost - just take my money and give me the whole thing! But, that's the way it is so....
Glad I'm not the only hard-copy guy. I'm just going to go that direction and pay for any DLC additions I want. Hopefully I can get it opening day at my local Game Stop - I'm going to ask them today.

I used to be one to have to have a copy in hand but not anymore. I can save $10 ordering through Amazon and buying the season pass after, but even with prime I wouldn't get the game until the 26th. Now that I have fast DL speed I will pre-order as DL and it's ready for me at 00:01 on the 22nd!

I order from Amazon and ALWAYS get the game on release day. They don't wait until release day to ship, they ship in advance. Some people have even gotten games a day early from Amazon (so I've heard, but can't confirm.) I'm just not a DL guy either. Mostly because I don't want to overload the hard drive.

Thanks for that Jeff! I went back to the amazon page, I missed the "get it the day it's released" ! That is better then, if I can have a hard copy the same day then I will do that for sure.

I've been always a hardcopy guy myself. Bought my first digital download game (Final Fantasy XV) just a few months ago on 60% off special. Then another game later. I think I'm just going to buy digital downloads now.
 
Only in recent times have I finally started to migrate toward digital stuff. A store with any decent selection of "hard" music is practically a unicorn anymore. As a matter of fact, I didn't even build my PC with any sort of disc drive. Anything i put on it either has to be via USB or DL.

So we should talk about the official swap over date for the lounge. I motion that we make it at least Oct.2, so we all have a chance to obtain it and spend a few days getting used to it.
 
Great turnout guys, another full room, with three unfortunately not able to get in at the start.

I cant believe I ran out of gas with 2 turns to go while leading the race. What a bonehead move on my part. Or maybe it was my pit crews fault. Like Bears crew, no fish and rice for them.

Last night was a blast. Those historics always bring a night of close racing. I'll have some high and lowlights up at some point.

Congrats to SGETI and a big congrats to davidtsmith for being the #1 BOB! Ayyyeeee!

Thanks again for having me gang 👍 what an awesome battle Robbie and I had race one :bowdown:. I think i wore out his rear bumper 4 times over trying to figure out how the 🤬 i would get around him cleanly :confused:. Like i said before guys i most likely will not make more then 2 races so i will always step aside when guys are stuck outside looking in, and they are regular crew members. Im just here to fill in when i can, lets see how Mr Awesome does tonight, maybe if get behind him my throttle will stick like a toyota prius :lol: .

Plug Zone :D- We do have 3-4 spots open if anyone wants to try out a Tuesday night with SRM.
