The cars picked for this weeks races are the most equal cars in the game which is why both are being used on the same night. We will all be driving both cars in six15 minute sprint races at.........not Banochbrea. Get a basic tune and be ready for tweaks, cause one of the tracks will kill parts of the cars. Steve and I did about 130 laps for testing and all is good. Lol. Ok, we did 3 laps.....really.
I like it all, except for the sprint part. But I'm sure you guys have something fun in store - I haven't had a regrettable Monday night since ya'll started this thing.

For some reason, lately I've been more into longer races. I like finding a good consistent pace, rather than trying to run full out the entire time. Plus, we're kind of having some of the old "turn-one through turn-three issues" that seem to get worse with shorter races. Like Mike said in an earlier post, we should all be able to start a race cleanly. Nobody should try to go from P-12 to P-1 in the first turn. Racing side by side is too fun to ruin it with contact. And trust me, I'm speaking to myself as well.

Great cars though, they're going to be fun no matter where we take them, and for however long each race is.

After all of GR8s whining and crying, we are going to do 4-20 minute races instead. The thing we do to keep you Wankers happy. Sheesh.
Haha...that's funny! I had not read his post until after I discussed this with you this morning. I just wanted less scoring and reverse grid set up, lol

I'd like to whine and suggest that we do 30, 2 minute races with a semi-reverse grid based upon your height, weight and cholesterol level. Car selection and mandatory pit stops will be determined by how many marbles you can hold in your mouth while drinking a Zima and spinning counterclockwise (anticloclockwise for you yourapeons). As a big mouthed 'Merican with poor taste in fruity beverages, I'll naturally be on the pole position each race. It's not me in the pic, but I do wield a deadly finger pistol. Respect my authority!

Um... This is sim racing bro, driver weight is completely irrelevant. Duh.

Zima, huh? Doesn't surprise me one bit. Sheep like Zima because it looks and tastes like water...

Do they still make Zima? Maybe time to switch to Smirnoff Ice, haha!!

I think I recently saw that they were going to start selling again as a limited time thing.

Make fun of it all you want, but that stuff was the first thing I got sick on when I was a kid, well teenager. But yeah, they taste like nothing so you drink them in like 25 seconds...

Zima (drink) Zima Clearmalt is a clear, lightly carbonated alcoholic beverage, that was made and distributed by the Coors Brewing Company. Introduced in 1993, it was marketed as an alternative to beer, an example of what is now often referred to as a cooler, with 4.7%–5.4% alcohol by volume.

Zomething retro! Zima's back, like a bad '90s hangover

Well, here's zomething different. No wait, it's actually zomething totally retro: Zima is back!

Are the fizzy memories of the early 1990s surfacing? Are you zuddenly ziezed with the dezire to zubztitute every "s" in your vocabulary with a "z"?

Stock up on Zima while it's available, boys! The sheep love it since it goes down so smoothly. Get them hammered and there won't be any virgin wool in your entire county/province.

We used to go to the Coors Brewery in Golden and laugh at the tourists and hipsters/crunchies (metrosexual granola eating tree huggers) drinking Zima and saying it was the best beverage Coors ever made.

Hey guys, a few of us were on Assetto Corsa last night having a blast. I gotta say, I love the car physics in that game, more than PCars really. How hard would a spec series be to set up on AC? I think most of us have the game and the season pass with all the cars. Now that Pits has moved to Sunday, Wednesday is now an open night with none of our friends series to compete with. I know I would be into joining a regular night of AC during the week. I have my hands full just keeping Aero away from my favorite sheep.

I'd definitely be up for racing on Assetto Corsa. Bear and I have run the Porsche RSR and 917, and they handled great. It's too bad it took AC so long to gets its act together, because the physics and force feedback are great. It's odd how it abruptly starts and finishes the race, but the rest is pretty good.

In our ongoing attempts to try and even out the field and make it a bit harder for the faster guys to get to the front, and hopefully give some others a chance at a podium, we are going to try something new.
I have done up a spreadsheet, (see below), that puts all the drivers in a ranking based on the average overall finish of every night you have raced with us since the start. Your ranking avg # will likely change each week if you race.

If your average is 5.99 or less, you will be in group A. If it is 6.00 or greater you will be in group B. (see below).

There will be no qualifying and no more pole or point for. When the room opens it will just be a practice session.

*Race 1 will be a rolling start with Group B at the front and Group A at the back. You will line up according to your number, with the lowest ranked driver first and so on. Once in position after the start, the leader of Group B will call "green, green, green" and you will start racing. At this point Group A will continue to drive at the formation speed for a determined amount of time before the lead driver of this group calls "green, green, green" and then group A starts.*

This week we will try a wait of 20 seconds (a second for each minute of the race) and see how that works out. Hopefully with group A having to not only battle amongst themselves while trying to catch up to group A, and then have to work through traffic, it will allow the slower drivers the chance of getting out front and finishing higher.

As an example, using the standings below, lets say the top 14 in the list are in the room.
Tom would line up first for Group B, then Zii in second and so on down to Joe. Mike would be next in line, but in the leading position for Group B, Aero next and so on down to Mexxi lining up last.
Once in position Tom will call "green, green, green" and Group B starts. Mike will then wait 20 seconds before calling "green, green, green", and then Group A will be off.

The rest of the night will be reverse grid as usual.

See Report#4 for active/inactive driver explanation.

Sounds interesting. What about the additional 20 seconds that @Eh Team has to count before he can start, you know, after the second group is long gone?

So this is just going to be for race one of the night? And then all other races will be reverse grid starting together? (The yellow flags were pretty cool, I like how it reset the race and put us back into groups).

Sounds good.

Heres some highlights I've been meaning to put up

Week 7 Renault Clio's @ Hockenheil

@Zii1993 and I had a great last lap battle for 1st place

Week 8 Lotus Type 49 @ Ring, Glen Short, Monza GP

@SGETI and I coming to the aid of @McTrucker. Poor guy was sitting upside down for the entire 1st lap. Notice @aerolite decided he had no time for that :dopey:

I Fly Roads!

Yes you do Shawn! You guys probably forgot about this one. @Gr8_Lakes didn't take on enough fuel for the race, or maybe his pit crew had been hanging out with Bear's crew too much and they put on the wrong tires. We all agreed to allow him to pass us all during the pace lap so he can hurry into the pits and get everything situated. The only problem is, well, just watch:

It was almost like seeing that picture Gutter posted in our old thread

80874529.gif

Not long after F1madness and I are battling for the lead. These cars were a handful, and going through the last turn I think we both just couldn't keep it straight and we made contact. Really sucks and I felt bad about it.

Week 9 Bentely GT3 @ Road America

After our pit stops I had the pleasure of chasing Aero around for 3rd until I was finally able to pass late in the lap. Good racing Steve

Week 13 Ford Falcon @ Down Unda

https://youtu.be/ZxBvHdbFaTk?t=14m7s

I have a good view of Alex and Red battling for 1st until Alex and Red get tangled up and I try to take advantage. Red and I precede to go up the mountain side by side which isn't easy to do.

https://youtu.be/ZxBvHdbFaTk?t=26m18s

The closing laps of the race and I have a hard charging SGETI after me. This is just what I needed...

https://youtu.be/ZxBvHdbFaTk?t=33m16s

Shortly after the inevitable happens

https://youtu.be/ZxBvHdbFaTk?t=1h3m10s

That BOB Steve was absent but made sure we were tortured with rain on arguably one of the hardest tracks in the game. Hes a sick bastard. SGETI and I catch up to Red and David for the lead.

https://youtu.be/ZxBvHdbFaTk?t=1h46m14s

R3 Green flag. Big pile up going down the hill.

Week 14 Renault Megane/Scion @ Coasts

https://youtu.be/m99VhtX-Wfw?t=24m32s

how not to start a race

https://youtu.be/m99VhtX-Wfw?t=31m56s

A fun finish with Gr8

https://youtu.be/m99VhtX-Wfw?t=42m18s

Green flag

https://youtu.be/m99VhtX-Wfw?t=50m15s

another fun finish with Gr8, with a close call pass.

https://youtu.be/m99VhtX-Wfw?t=56m22s

Another green flag, but this time disaster. Twiddle Dee and Twiddle Dumb (SGETI and I) get stuck on a light pole before the start. Mike comes in to save the day, but is DQ'd for his efforts. :banghead:

I'm going to end it there boys, but theres still a few more I know I'm missing. I'm just going off memory at this point, it takes way too long to watch each race. See you guys tomorrow
