Sorted that for you. :P

I was there. :D

I didn't knew they ever came to Portugal. It must had been a blast. Unfortunately, at that time I didn't knew In Flames nor I listened to Heavy Metal.

As of lately, I've been more calm and listening to more Nu/Alternative Metal stuff. Things like:

Deftones:

Taproot:

Edit: Oh and in another note, In Flames just released a new videoclip for their Deliver Us single. It looks promising, can't wait for the new album.

The new Hammerfall album is out in Europe now. It doesn't come out until the 7th here in the states but I've been listening to it online and it sounds pretty good so far.

The amon amarth concert is also on youtube now. It was awesome. Can't believe I went out for pizza instead of going to these concerts. That's what I get for having no metal-head friends.

Amon Amarth is always good live.

@In Flames Newest Video: Don't like the outcome. They've become too Melodic in the past years. Disappointing, and I doubt that it will be better than the last Album. Sad but true.

Well, I'm not a big fan of the whole Core - Thing, but I recently found this US - Combo called "Born of Osiris"

What do you thing of these guys?
Personally, I think they kinda stand out of this whole Core - Thing.

Originallity and Creativity come together in this band. Sure, it's still typical Core - Stamping Riffs, but they still create their very own sound.

I like them!
And If you guys know any similar bands, please post them! :)

I've recently re-indulged into some Nuclear Assault which has lead me into discovering and rediscovering some old school thrash bands that never got any recognition.

Still lots more out there to be discovered. Great problem to have.

They suck lol.

👍

The only decent thing to come from that band was Tosin Abasi/Animals As Leaders, and even that gets boring after a couple of listens.

Although CAFO is just insane.

Well, thank god nobody has the same taste of music ^^

But I agree with you MÜLE - Animals As Leaders are quite awesome.

Anyone know of any bands with similar sounds to Kyuss, Russian Circles, Priestess or Entombed(Wolverine Blues Style)?

Yes, yes and yes. Not a big fan of Priestess and I haven't listed to much of Entombed but here is a little list :)

For Kyuss the lords of stoner rock I would go check out...
Unida
Fu Manchu
Karma to Burn
Dozer
Orange Goblin
Truckfighters

And for Russian Circles a very awesome post-rock band I would check out.
Pelican (like 20832 said)
Isis
Caspian
Bossk
Latitudes
Ganon

If you need any more shoot me a PM ;)

To add another band to the list.

Explosions in the Sky... not that much Rock, quite calm, but still great.
Post - Rock/Metal is always great!

And "This Will Destroy You" :)

If you want another great Post - Rockcombo: Godspeed You! Black Emperor.
Very long songs though, and they really need time, that you get into that kind of music.

Thanks for the recommendations people, Listen to half all ready and the other half I haven't. So all good, some new stuff to try 👍

God Is an Astronaut and maybeshewill are also good softer post-rock stuff.

EDIT: Loving Karma to Burn so far.

Yeah KTB is awesome. Might want to try late Corrosion of Conformity and Spirit Caravan.

Copy everything after the '=' in the URL. If its an extended tag, like if its part of a playlist or something, just copy the bit after the '=' and before the '&'.

And just used the youtube tag that you find in the advanced post page.

It's pretty cool that Djent is fairly popular now. I used to talk to bulb (from Periphery) on the Meshuggah forums ;)

In other Djent-related news, Chimp Spanner is one of my favorite guitarists at the moment. Instrumental, Djizz-in-your-pants awesomeness.

You just gotta love the sound of an 8 - String :D

Amazing stuff.

Do you guys know TessaracT by chance? :)

Also have some Djent Elements in their music :)
