Really late reply here, sorry. But yes, they were pretty sweet. Dude looked just like Lemmy. :dopey: They were called "Snaggletooth" after the song. There was this fat guy (He must have been drunk or something) who was dancing around, for a while without a shirt. :lol: At one point me, a friend and him joined arms and circled around dancing. It was really funny.

Awesome news. This will be the first album w/ Ozzy on vocals since Never Say Die! (1978), no? That's a loong time.
 
I listen to most subgenres of heavy metal except Alternative Metal and Nu metal (poseur crap).

Any Old School/Traditional heavy metal fans here? I like Saxon, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Venom, Bathory, Celtic frost, Diamond head, Dio, Black Sabbath etc..

Oh and someone mentioned Sabaton... Will be seeing them in February next year at a small bar. Gonna be sweeeet. I'll probably go deaf.
 
I hate that band, and they're really not metal, but a bike accident's a terrible way to go. Not something I'd wish on anyone.

OK now, this is not even a reason to get mad about. This is PATHETIC. Really, no matter how much you dislike his music or himself (despite probably not even knowing him in person; not saying I did though), dammit - that was a human being!

He wasn't even 30 yet, he left behind his little daughter. Show at least a bit of respect, it's not that hard.
 
I particularly get mad about people who have either no idea about "our" music or about those typical metal "elitist" starting a total unneccesary discussion about how bad Deathcore or his band in particular is.

Yet they're the ones who would cry millions and millions of tears when (let's say) Kirk Hammett dies. It's one of the reasons, why I left the "scene" and found a new home in the hardcore family. Because crap like this doesn't matter. Everyone is (equally) sad about a loss of a respected member in our scene. There's only a few people, who actually have to talk smack, but those are the people who do not understand hardcore, they do not understand values such as respect, unity or equality.

There are no races, there are no religions. We all are one family, we look out for each other. When I hit a guy in the moshpit, we go "Are you alright?" and shake hands and probably even chat a little. I've never (NEVER!) experienced this in any metal concert.

But that's just a little rant about the metal scene of today.

But their frontman Mitch Lucker passed away this morning at the age of 28.

Not a fan of that kind of metal, but it's always sad to see someone go so young regardless of what they do for a living.

Because Deathcore has become the dubstep of metal related music. Not sure if I've ever met a Deathcore fan that had any kind knowledge or appreciation for early metal pioneers.

Hardcore is so different from Deathcore its not even funny. Deathcore is a gimmick compared to real early east coast hardcore bands. You find that same respect any other metal genre. And its usual found with out the love for 'swag'.

You must of been to some ****** metal concerts then. Because every time I've fallen in a pit I've had 5-6 man and women at my side, doom, death, thrash, sludge, punk, hard rock, stoner didn't matter. I felt the same appreciation in everyone. I just saw Black Tusk and Red Fang and it was as nuts as any extreme metal gig with big sweaty 260 lbs. guys running people over but everyone was 'bros'. I've never once felt out of place, never once was I an outsider. Never was a high five turned down, never had a bad conversation never had anything but good experiences.


Though your experiences are probably at massive concerts or festivals... In which case it will suck because the bigger the show is IMO the worse it is. Its all about small clubs and bars. Festival is just another way of saying FFA boxing ring, the goal is to break as many noses as possible. People aren't even there for the music. But once a metal band gets that big they pretty much suck so meh.


Sucks that he dies... Nothing against him, hes probably a cool dude. But hate the genre and hate the style that comes along with it. Bands like them is what makes me hate saying 'I'm a metal head'.

Have really been getting into Mastodon lately. I don't know why I usually stick to old school metal, but I need to open my mind more because I can't believe Mastodon has eluded me all these years.
