I'll believe Dana when it passes.
True, but how many times has GSP apparently been set to fight this year? Suppose to fight Nate Diaz at 200, then Anderson Silva at 206, then with all this drama about his contract with the UFC, I really believe Dana this time, but only this time.

So the Injury Curse has struck once again. Thankfully, not on UFC 205 *fingers, toes crossed and anything else that can be crossed*

Luke Rockhold has suffered a knee injury at training, ruling him out of UFC Fight Night Melbourne in a few weeks. He was set to fight Jacare Souza, who I'd assume is now available to fight Bisping who's been calling out anyone, from GSP to Nick Diaz for a fight, preferably at UFC 206.

Ronda Rousey has also emerged from whatever cave she was hiding in, to appear on Ellen, saying that her fight against Nunes could be one of her final fights.

Also, UFC returns this weekend, Fight Night Mexico is headlined by a showdown between Rafael Dos Anjos and Tony Ferguson. Should be a good fight.

And finally, 1 and a half weeks till UFC 205!! What fight are we most looking forward to?

And also, to create some discussion, if you could assemble a 5 fight supercard, with anyone past, present or deceased and in their prime, what would it be?

Fight I'm looking forward to most on 205 is Woodley/Thompson.

If I were to make a supercard, it would probably look like this.
Cat Zingano vs. Miesha Tate - 135 lbs
Ronda Rousey vs. Cris Cyborg - 145 lbs
Stephen Thompson vs. Robbie Lawler - 170 lbs
Alexander Gustafsson vs. Daniel Cormier - 185 lbs
Stipe Miocic vs. Fabricio Werdum - Heavyweight

I'm not huge on revisiting the past. I believe that MMA has evolved to the point that if I were to try blending past and present, the present would kind of destroy the past.

Tough one for me, but here would be my supercard;
Match #1 - Welterweight - George Saint Pierre v Connor McGregor
Match #2 - Middleweight - Michael Bisping v Luke Rockhold III
Match #3 - Middleweight - Chris Weidman v Gegard Mousasi
Match #4 - Women's Catchweight - Ronda Rousey v Cris Cyborg
Match #5 - Light Heavyweight - Jon Jones v Anderson Silva

Few fights I've made a sacrifice with, I wanted a Velasquez v Jones fight and one last Weidman v Silva fight, but I had to go for Jones v Silva in the end. Because that would be amazingly epic, especially if both were in their prime. I tossed up a match between Hunt and Velasquez, or Miocic and Velasquez but in the end I opted against a Heavyweight fight for a Middleweight showdown between Mousasi and Weidman. Rockhold v Bisping III, especially for the title would probably have a more intense build up than any Jones v Cormier fight (seriously, just watch the post fight UFC 199 presser). And GSP v McGregor would "make it rain" with money.

It was a lot harder than I expected. I don't fathom the job of a UFC Matchmaker at all.

Breaking news; the curse of stacked cards continues as Rashad Evans has been taken off of the UFC 205 Prelims. It's not that big of a blow, but still sucks nonetheless.

Two days now till UFC 205, and the pre-fight presser was eventful to say the least. McGregor showed up late again. Alvarez had enough of waiting and left, asking to be told when McGregor showed up. McGregor showed up then stole Alvarez' belt. Alvarez returned then took back his belt, McGregor then tried to take a folding chair to Alvarez. So yeah, pretty normal presser for McGregor

Usual song and dance, turning very wwe these days. Getting super excited for the fights though!

Makes you wonder why other UFC fighters turn up for the presser when Conor is there with his big Irish balls? they would probably have the same amount of questions from the press if they just stayed at home... None! it's like Joanna and co were just there for decoration :D

1 more day until the madness starts woohoo!!👍

The time has finally arrived, so let's do some picks and predictions for the main card;

Match #1 - Women's Bantamweight - Miesha Tate v Raquel Pennington -
Tate by Decision

Match #2 - Welterweight - Kelvin Gastelum v Cowboy Cerrone -
Gastelum by TKO in the 2nd

Match #3 - Middleweight - Chris Weidman v Yoel Romero -
Weidman by TKO in the 3rd

Match #4 - Women's Strawweight Title - Jedrzejczyk (c) v Kowalkiewicz -
Jedrzejczyk by TKO in the 3rd

Match #5 - Co-Main Event - Welterweight Title - Woodley (c) v Thompson -
Thompson by TKO in the 5th

Match #6 - Main Event - Lightweight Title - Alvarez v McGregor -
Alvarez by KO in the first

Scuffle at the pre fight presser - Dana White ragdolled McGregor like a redheaded step kid for attempting to hit Eddie with a steel chair...
You can rent a Mink Suit, but you can't buy class.

So McGregor has had multiple altercations with both Tyron Woodley and Khabib Nurgamedov backstage at the Weigh-Ins. Honestly, he should be more focused on not hetting his head knocked off his shoulders by Alvarez. Then maybe afterwards he can think about how Woodley would KO him in one punch and how Khabib would likely rag doll him across the octagon.

Ordered the fight this morning and just got back from buying all the bread rolls for the BBQ. I think I'm more excited about this card than I have been any others

It's just about the most stacked in history, you should be!

Most looking forward to Woodley vs Wonderboy and then Mystic Mac vs Alvarez. I would like Mac to win to continue the dream/nightmare but can't see Alvarez losing.

I'm hoping Woodley wins but Wonderboy might just be too awkward for him. Should be a great fight. I also can't see Alvarez losing. I'm tipping a fairly quick win for him.

Yeah I like Woodley, but I feel Thompson will have an edge. Should be a great fight though. I don't want to see McGregor winning against Alvarez as it will only boost his ego, so I'm hoping that Alvarez can humble him by knocking him out early in the fight. Preferably quicker than what McGregor did to Aldo. ;)

That Khabib v Johnson fight
Never knew Johnson had that strong of a chin. That was a sustained beating. Khabib ended it with a Kimura where Johnson tapped before his arm broke.

And now Edgar v Stephens!
Early canidate for fightof the night. Back and forth. The second round was frenetic to say the least.

Tate v Pennington was a decent fight
Pennington won by Decision. Moment of the fight was when Tate tried using the cage to flip out of a choke and her head and neck went in some really weird positions.

Tate also announced her retirement after the fight.

Romero v Weidman was a slow burner that ended spectacularly.
Romero won by KO via flying knee in the 3rd round. Romero did have some controversy as he soaked himself in water just as Round 2 was about to get underway, but the ref did dry him down.

Jedrzejczyk v Kowalkiewicz was probably fight of the night so far.
Joanna retained but not without a few late scares by Kowalkiewicz.

Woodley v Thompson was jaw dropping. Fight of the night for sure.
Thompson somehow got that fight to a decision after being mauled in the 4th. The result was originally a split decision win to Woodley, but was changed to a.Majority Draw, keeping the title on Woodley still. Amazing stuff.

Great night! Conor is crazy awesome no other words... wonderboys survival in round 4 was the highlight of the night for me... stunning! what a great night 👍

On W/ WB - amazing fight, only spoiled by the Bruce Buffer stuff up. Has to be a part II in the future. Probably fight of the year for my money. Really don't know how WB survived round 4...

Conor really is mystic mac. I can't get my head around how he dominated, absolutely dominated, Alvarez. That left hand....I can see him retiring, top of the game, have some kids, then come back to big $ fights.

PS: good to see you @Mr P !

Well, I'm pretty deflated after that Main Event. Alvarez did not look anything like he usually does. Just dominated by McGregor in all facets of the game.

Well, what next for McGregor, does he go fight Khabib or Tony Ferguson next or does he go back up to Welterweight to fight Woodley for the title (a fight he would most definitely lose).

Crazy night. The Wonderboy/Woodley fight was huge. No idea how Wonderboy left round 4 with his head still attached. Thought it was all over. Surely a rematch is in the cards. Karolina did well but was a class below Joanna. Her 4th round was huge but if she managed to win you couldn't see her defending the belt. Needs to hit that next level to be a contender but she has massive heart. Could be a future champ.

The main fight stunned me. Maybe MacGregor really is that good? He dominated. Alvarez was nothing like he usually is. Maybe he was over-awed and put off by the crowd it something but he was completely out done.

Cheers Mike good to see you too mate 👍

I reckon after Khabibs display tonight that he will be Conor's next opposition, 24/0 is a disgrace in any competition not having a title shot yet 👎 but also there's Tony Ferguson after he showed a head like granite against Dos Anjos I reckon he could make for a crazy fight also.. very interesting now in that division with Conor at the top

The other surprise was how the Soldier of God destroyed Weidman. Bisping stands no chance against that beast.

So about that second belt McGregor got in the octagon today... that wasn't actually his Featherweight belt. It was Tyron Woodley's Welterweight belt.
