I like bikes, if PD came out with a game with bikes exclusively, personally Id buy it, just dont put them in a GT game.

It's called Tourist Trophy. Looks like you've got a purchase to make. ;)

Unfortunately, thats true, GT isnt all that realistic, but IMHO thats part of the reason its been so popular for so long. TCS and ASM (the root of the unrealism) are godsends for people who only play casually, but I think they also benefit those of us who take it more seriously by allowing PD to appeal to a broader audience while at the same time making the game realistic enough to be a challenge to anyone.

It seems an odd lapse of judgement for someone who obviously loves GT to tell someone who is more casual about it to play a different (crappier) game. With or without aids, GT is as close as most of us will get to driving most of these cars in real life, theres no reason you shouldnt be allowed to play it if you want to use traction control.

Besides, not to sounddick or anything, but if youre not faster in GT4 without the aids, you probably need more pracitce. As far as Im concerned, PD can throw in all the aids they want as long as they keep making it possible for those of us who want the sim effect to set it up to be as realistic as possible, while making sure its still possible to go faster without them.

I think the whole original point of the AIDS thing was that it should automatically be turned off instead of having to turn them off all the time.....thats what the 'Wish" was. Also someone asked if anyone has driven every single car in GT4, I think i've come very close!

How about this hypothetical solution to the aids problem -- include a setting in the options menu where you can decide whether aids default to "off," "TCS on," or "TCS and ASM on."

-> I'd like to post some comments in regards to the post below:

My votes for the 8 Dumbest requests ever, no particular order:

Offroad/ SUV Great idea, with tons of potential even. Offroad driving is really very difficult and technical in real life, but you know that the vast majority of people who play a game like this will put their foot to the floor and bounce off whatever comes near them to get to the finish line first. This seems like another good candidate for a separate game, for the right crowd.

SUV/Pickup/Trucks-> The trucks that me and BuickGNX88 are talking about are not rock-crawlers you were implying, like these:

^ There will be games that will feature this type of sport.

-> What we were implying are ONLY for racing in the proper race track or street circuit and/or rally type/point-to-point off-road (both traditional GT rally course and Baja/Dakar type). Like these ones:

more cars: If I counted my fingers and toes correctly, there have been more than 900 cars in all the GTs produced so far. How about a show of hands... Who here has driven every car in every GT... anyone??... Didnt think so, now STFU.
^ I'm still working on doing a time attack at Autumn Ring on every car on GT4 as we speak. I'm already done of driving every car on GT1, I still have to recover my JDM PS1 memory card for my GT2, I'm 85% done on GT3. It just I'm busy at work lately. Hey, what can I say, I'm a collector, just like the very few people here in GTP. I really don't care of completing the game, I'd just like to drive every car in GT. :dopey:

^ditto on every thing mentioned.Would love to pit the faster 4x4's against each other (eg ml63,cayenne turbo etc) and also against normal cars....just for a **** stir!!!

I am much the same, since GT4 came out I have been buying/winning cars and testing all of them.

I have tested and photographed (photomode) half the cars in gt4 so far on the Test track (0-100, 0-160, 400m, 100, top speed), Tsukuba and Nurburgring. I love collecting and driving them, that includes the slow kai cars, hybrids, pick up trucks etc.

More cars gives me more choice.

I have no proof of the previous versions, but I do remember testing all cars in GT2 around the Red Rock Ring or however it was called.

I also tested every car in GT4 in stock form around Nurburgring; and I'm currently undergoing testing them all in RTST form around the same track. Proof of that is here: Stock ..... RTST

I really didnt mean to stir up this much controversy..

I have not driven every car in every GT game, I admit. Even if you have, does it really make the request for more cars, and more versions of cars valid?

As far as SUVs and trucks are concerned, What I was trying to say is that there are enough out there to justify an entirely different game. Just like GT, youd have the Grand Chrokee SRT8 and Ram SRT10 for on road racing, Cayenne and other 'soft roaders' for rally type racing, then the real deal trucks like Wrangler Rubicon, Toyota FJ Cruiser, and older land rovers for the tough, technical stuff.

Agree 100% here. At the start of each race the user should be able to control some very basic settings. It would be very benificial to be able to do the following with out going into the full tunning menu.

  • Automatic or Manual
  • ASM on / off
  • TCS on / off
  • Maybe tires, choose from what you have purchased
  • Then maybe quick tune sliders would be nice
like in GT4 single player arcade mode
Also maybe in the master options menu they could have a place to force ASM and TCS off or on for all cars in your garage.

^ Yes! What if their real life cars are in the game. How would they feel? Of course overly happy. You won't have the same dilema because your SE3P RX-8 is already in GT4, while me in the lowliest WRX (even lower than the TR) the Sports Wagon WITH the EJ25T 2.5L Turbo (while the JDM-spec has the EJ20 2.0T) isn't. :indiff:

^ There is a saying one-step at a time. Not all people will takle the Rubicon, Moab or even Mammoth Canyon. Take note that this is a driving game, also known as primarily test driving as much cars as possible in a real world performance applications. :)

-> Even we had the HKS R33 and HKS 180SX Drag car, we don't have a proper drag strip in GT2. The 'almighty' Escudo P.P.R.C. doesn't feature its track designed for its purpose the Pikes Peak in GT3 and GT4. And lastly the World champ Pajero Evo w/o the Dakar track. So one of those rock crawlers will show up in future GT one way or another, but without its track designed for the beating, hopfully not. :nervous:

-> Ah! I think you were implying like a Test Drive Offroad and/or 4X4 Evo. But even they don't feature rock-crawling either. ;)

Face it, it's a japanese made game, it's going to have a buttload of skylines.

QFT, anyone ever played Fatal Frame? Ghosts riding around in Skylines sound ridiculous, but once you play the game, you'll be terrified!

Skid Marks - Anybody who wants this should probably just check their underpants. I bet you'd find plenty skid marks there.

^ Oh! I missed that! :dopey:

-> Hey! If 98% of GTP are griping about vehicle wish lists, why can't it be the same on Track wish list? Just my 1/2 cent. :dunce:

It IS the same TVB. Believe me, they gripe there, too. I tend to be a little harsh on 'em, though.

Yes, you just found another thing seriously more important than Kazunori's famous "leather stitches in Ferrari", just a little detail for game enrichment! 👍

Realistic 3d Crowds - Main reason I find this a bit annoying is who is gonna notice this while they are in a tight battle, especially if there is a Online race going on? How many of you guys payed attention to the crowds actually moving when you played GTHD?

That's a very valid point, RACECAR. Again... this goes back to my deal saying that since this is a next-gen console and package, that EVERYTHING has to be next-gen. Even the most unimportant details. I don't think you can really notice a lot of 3D people even if you were doing a One-Make race series limited to the Fiat 500R. I always say that there shouldn't be an overkill of what a game engine can do. This is like having too much exercise rather than exercise in moderation. Don't you feel even more tired and have some muscular pain if you overexercise? Well, the same feeling is had if you overexaggerate and really provide a number of almost unimporant details. I'm sure PD wants to push the envelope as much as possible, but even they don't want an overworked game to be distributed worldwide as the continuation of a winning franchise. It's all about working on the model as much as possible without trying to overdo and overkill things, especially any unecessary overkill.

I agree there should be SUV's in the game, even if they are just the performance ones. I really would like to race the BMW X5.

I've heard people asking for a track editor. I'm just curious how on earth PD would be able to go about that and still keep some sort of realism in the game. A track editor would be an insanely large file to place on the disc and you probably wouldn't be able to make the track on the same level as the ones already programmed.

You could have an autocross editor, where you could place the cones in some huge parking lot.

^ Although its a worthy feature, its quite tedious to use unless if PD could make a miracle of it. Just like that track editor that everybody keep on insisting in GT. :indiff:

The only thing i want them to do is make sure the AI is Beefed up........Drag Racing with full Dyno Tuning.....Cockpits For every car......Full Tuning....Engine Swaps (This Require Some Time in the game not just a swap and drop....the car will be inusable for sometime...) A Full List of Mechicanic Failure (From Blown Head to Bad Spark Plugs)....And A Buy Part from Dealer Or Used......As Real it Gets.....Junk Yard....And The E30 M3......They Neva Have that car which is So Stupid.....and just keep updating the game with Downloadable Cars.....I Dont Know Know if Any of you guys remember NFS: MOTOR CITY........i swear that was the best online Racing game.......They had it downpack with everything you could ever imagine.....from used fenders to Rare Engine Parts .....they need to have the online and offline game tight......Really I Just Want All Above and Supply and Demand Community.Thats my piece

This is the wrong place to be saying what you want to see in GT. This is The Most Annoying "GT Wishes"ever - Hall of Fame Thread, not the "What do you want to see in GT" Thread.

i´d like to see dynamic axial moving and compression of the tyres on their respective wheels especially in high speed turns with low diameter...
