The new H2

Why does everyone love the H2 so much. Personally I dont see the appeal. It looks like a refrigerator box on wheels with 22" rims. The thing also takes up about 14 bazillion gallons of fuel in a month.

hummer 1 rulez. the hummer 2 is just like a regualr suv only more ugly. the h1 was ugly but you knew it could take on ANYTHING and ANYONE so it was cool.

Lol..Oh yeah The worlds biggest Soccer mom SUV...Doesn't get any better....
H2 = making the "Hummer" name common place..And it doesn't need to be...Old hummers were great

hey atleast the original hummer was really an off road car....the H2 is too weak...a guy at church has a nice Hummer wagon....I'll take pics on my cell phone and upload em.....

ok here is the one I was talking about....sorry for the crappy resolution but I took em on my cell phone....

Yeah, I don't like the H2 either. It takes on the square shape of the original Hummer a little too much. Especially with the new colors, I mean.. how often will you see a yellow Hummer being used in the army? ;) Anyway, I think they only made the H2 because the economy was going down and they needed/wanted to get more out there. I don't think they ever really ment for it to replace the original.

Right. Make sure you know what the H2 is before you put it down. It is the most capable off-road vehicle money can buy, second only to its bigger brother.

i don't like it. It just isn't what you would expect from a company like HUMMER. Which fool could have the idea to design a TOY-HUMMER, it's sounds so FAGGish

It's not exactly new...I don't exactly like it...:| I think the H1 has a more "rugged" look. :)

You can find pictures H1's and H2's in their natural enviroment here. There are many good shots that show just how "weak" and "uncapable" the "TOY-HUMMER" is.

I don't have a problem with the vehicle itself-- Nor any other SUVs. I do have issues though with the fact that there are thousands of people who absolutely do not need such a huge vehicle, but buy it just to get an ego boost. Throw in some lousy driving skills and cell phones, and... :scared: My dad is one of the most capable drivers I've ever seen, yet even he would never dare to drive with a cell phone or bother driving an H2 to the grocery store.

Like I said (or have been trying to say), if they're used for the intended purpose of an SUV, then great! (Off-roading, hauling, and [not or] big family carrying) But...

I think it is pretty telling that the H2 ads show the Hummer zipping across what appears to be badlands covered with fist-sized and bigger rocks... until the camera pans around front and you see it's driving on a nicely paved two-lane blacktop.

The vehicle itself may be capable but I think it is invalidated by most of the people who buy them. Then again I'm pretty PO'd that Jeep is dropping the Rubicon Trail requirement for its new vehicles. But then again 99.9repeater9% of the people who buy SUVs have no idea what the Rubicon Trail is.

to be honest i had no idea what the rubicon trail was before u mentioned it just now and i briefly looked it up. i too think its a bad idea dropping that test since someone wanting a decent 4x4 might get a jeep and be disappointed by its performance, or even worse... though i accept that 99% of luxury 'off roaders' see less dirt than most people's trainers.

as for,

i am totally with you on this one. i consider myself to be a very capable driver with experience in all sorts of road/track conditions yet i NEVER use a phone in the car. i have in the past tried to use one but it frightens me how much it distracts you from concentrating on the road. i shudder to think how much control people who are poor drivers have over their vehicles whilst on the phone... research has shown its more dangerous than drinking and driving :scared:

I have one of those hands free cell phone ear thingy's....whatever they're called....my phone auto answers after 10 seconds and I can talk while looking at the road....I also have voice dialing so I dont have to push buttons when I call people....I just have to say their name....

apparantly scientists have concluded that to maintain adequate conversation even on a hands free is as dangerous as drinking and driving.

many people however don't see the difference between hands free and a regular conversation in the car but having tried hands free i can hazard a guess as to why it is different. when ur talking in a car, and suddenly a tricky situation comes up, u stop and the people in the car can see exactly why, so they wait for u to resume. but on a phone u have to tell the person "hang on dodgy situation coming up", which removes valuable reaction time.

:P screw the scientists....they're nerds anyway

yeah I see the point tho....but I still think hands free is safer than diging in your pocket pulling out your phone and hitting a button....

I remember seeing this guy tryin to talk on his cell phone, eat, steer, and shift at the same time.....I moved away from the idiot because I didn't want him to run into me...some people are stupid...

i know what you mean, i try and move away from guys like that too. saw this guy today though talking on a cell phone with one hand and using the other to point out some **** to his wife on a map that was lying on the dashboard...

I dont really mind the H2. It has great offroad capeabilities and is more luxurious but it is also more SUV-ish. The H1 is more "Assault Vehicle" (which I love) and seems more offroad tuned. Plus it looks badass, especially when covered in mud :P.

Got to see a few Rubicon's and Liberty Renigades yesterday. Look great...

[EDIT] Dont get me wrong, I love Hummers and anything else that goes off road (I mean it actually goes off road, not off the road to the grocery store)...
