I haven't seen one of these up yet over than the the one that was announced. And I would like to have a thread specifically about how the car drives, it's definitely an interesting concept. Has anyone already driven it and would like to share their thoughts? :)

As of 6/6/2015
55.2% of people liked the car.
26.1% of people did not like the car.
18.7% were neutral.

What makes this thread official?
Because it's the first one.

The car isn't out yet.
It is out, just a lucky few have gotten to drive it. :) This is a stub that is meant to be fully done in 9 hours and 6 minutes. :) Although I find it funny that there are already 3 votes in the poll and 2 of them are "really bad" and the other is "good" very optimistic group GTPlanet users are.

I'm about to test it now in round 4 I'll report back soon!

Ok after a few fails before the lap even begun I'll be honest. I don't like it, not one bit

Edit: I don't want to sound too negative so I'd also like to note that even though I don't like it very much it is still great to have in GT so that the players can experience Nissan and NISMO's unique idea of having a front wheel drive race car. I cannot imagine the work that has been put into that car!

The GT-R LM Nismo is completely ruined because of Front-Wheel Drive. It sounds great, and looks great, but the fact that it's FWD just ruins it! Shame... a real shame.

Edit: I should reconsider my statement... this car is actually great! This was just my first thought on it. It still sounds and looks great, and it's pretty fun and challenging running with a FWD LMP! A great car.

This car is absolutely brilliant! Its 25 mph faster than the Zytek LMP2 around the porsche curves this car is amazing the fwd does NOT ruin it as long as you have good throttle control. The only draw back to this car is its 5 speed gear box. The RPMs get really low at 50-60 mph and then the engine braking is non existant.

Amazing car! 25 mph :embarrassed:

Well, it's not 100% ruined, but FWD still does not fit such a car. I managed a 1:39.629 on Motegi (FULL) with it though.

I rated it a 5, I love the thing! Don't think being FWD ruined the car at all, the understeer's not that bad when you have good throtlle control. Handling aside, the car sounds good as well! I like that it makes a popping noise when you're off the throttle, I wish they'd included the whining sound the real car makes when it brakes though.

Its... something. I dont know what but its something.

The FWD isnt too bad for what it is. The wide gear ratios takes so getting used to.

I assume that a full 4wd version is coming plus the blue livery.

The sound of the rev limiter is great I accidentally hit it on a lap (not a very good one) and was like ":embarrassed: that sounded amazing." Then I went in to first gear. (Which btw tops out at 90 something mph, in needs a new first gear) and hit it a few more times. It doesn't sound like dirt going into a vacuum cleaner anymore :D

Im sure VWG heard about this and has someone testing this car with us to see what its pros and cons are. Lol.

I originally disliked this car, I even sent a pm on psn. "THIS CAR SUCKS" but then as soon as I hit that first porsche curve. I was completely stunned by how smooth it was around that corner. Then I finished up the corners, instant fan of the car. This car is meant to run high speed tracks with high speed corners. And it does it SO good, I didn't believe it at first. :) can't wait to take it to a track like Silverstone or Spa with the big sweeping high speed corners that they both have.

I think it's awful.

Some may be able to make it go fast, but I'm not enjoying driving it in the slightest.

It has incredible braking performance, and it can have incredible cornering performance, but for some seemingly unknown reason, somtimes it won't stop, or turn in.

This, combined with the quirky FWD+600oddBHP do not make a nice car to drive.

I honestly don't think I'll be driving at again.

Although...

If we finally do see a 4wd version in GT7, along with this and the deltawing, I personally think it builds a great record (albeit only of Nissan) of recent LMP cars within GT.

Added the car to GT6Garage.

I ran a few laps this morning after unlocking it and it handles better than I expected for an FWD car.

Unfortunately, the items I normally tune to give a car more rotation (Downforce and Ride Height) are locked, so if I was to take this car seriously and tune it for an event I'd need to use more aggressive Toe, Spring and Differential Settings.

Transmission is locked too by the way.

How people are liking to drive this with wheel?
This car made me take my first full lap with DS3, just to get some full lap(ever), didn't want to kill my G27 with this.

I'll bet at we see lot of broken G27 wheels during this academy final or bit after it.

It reminds me partly of the Deltawing... it CAN be a fast car in certain circumstances... it can be very competitive.

Its just not that fun and its not a car that I feel comfortable 'in combat' with.

eg. if I take the Mazda 787 or Sauber C9 I know I can drive it, I'm competitive, its enjoyable in close racing circumstances.

Due to my limited ability to adapt to 'unusual cars' I cant really use the GTR (or the Deltawing) in corner duels.

In an open track where I lead from the front or I use pit strategy, the GTR can work.

I have absolutely no problem with the JGTC cars for example but anything out the ordinary I cant handle.

This car is a curio.

This car is simply awful in stock setup but with a quick tune is a pretty fast car and MUCH easier to drive and let's be honest this is the only LMP1 car that sounds decent enough to actually have fun with it, unfortunately.

I love it, and I bet that it will get much better as Nissan refines over the upcoming seasons.

front wheel drive
this limits the amount of fun I can have with it. It handles like shopping trolley with too many cases of beer at the front
...
That the trolley is good as it is full of beer and you can never have too much beer
The Nissan is just loaded up with understeer.
And it doesn't even have the leader lights on it.

A plus side is with all that weight at the front you can play bumper cars with the AI and come off very well as the car will understeer merrily with any impact.

I will try to give this a chance. A few runs at Le Mans in the dream cup, But I want to run the Pug VGT or the Alpine or pretty much any high performance car over this.

And how can you call it a GT-R? Front wheel drive, Hybrid... should be the Nissan Leaf LMP1

Give me a tune? :D

throttle control makes all the difference, first couple of laps i was thinking the same as you, then i started driving it like i do with my other FF cars and its a blast.

It's called a GT-R for the fan base, as Nissan have stated lots of times

Must say I rather liked it. Still getting faster (not the best driver by any stretch of the imagination). Only down to a 3:50 so far after 3 runs. Pity you can't buy one as a backup!

Ran it a few times at the Ring and Le mans on B-Spec.

It has issues. Pretty horrible but expected front tyre wear. Also with only 600hp it gets monstered a bit.

Plus side is fuel econ is ok.

The 1,000hp version will be the one to watch.
