Oh, my. Thats...*mumbles incoherently*

...

Another more-door hardtop, but this one's a fair bit (or even much) smaller than previous examples.

What are those things bundled up on the running board in front of the rear tire? They look like spikes.

Saw this pretty 1957 Buick.

Looks like you've got yourself either a Buick Super or Buick Roadmaster. I love the C-pillar design of those '57 Buicks. Only the '57 Super and Roadmaster had that reverse pillar design. The Century and Special had a more traditional sloping C-pillar design. Even the Roadmaster and Super sedans (hardtops, of course) had that reverse design.

Of all of those shown, I think the black is my favorite.

Enjoy some Ford Touring/Phaeton cars. The last Phaeton was built in 1938. Once people realized a car could be built that would keep the occupants warm and dry even when it was raining, there was no turning back.

It's a miracle a Mod Top AMC has lasted that long. I'm sure that car is garaged and babied. I can't imagine replacement vinyl is available any more.
That's a Satellite.

I'm given to understand that Ma Mopar gave up on the Mod Tops decades ago, but a couple aftermarket companies supply what you need...or at least did as of several years ago, as I discovered while very seriously considering a Dart GTS 383 Mod Top that was in desperate need of some TLC.

It gets completely overlooked by the earlier "Fabulous" Hudson Hornet, but I've always been fond of the 1955-1957 generation. They all came as 4-door sedans or 2-door hardtops. Hudson kept bleeding market share, so they added more chrome, bigger chrome, two-tone paint, three-tone paint! Nothing worked and AMC pulled the plug on Hudson on June 25th, 1957. I have a lot of respect for those 4,108 Hudson loyalists in 1957 who stayed faithful right up until the end.

1955 production: 13,334: 10,010 sedans, 3,324 hardtops. Standard engine: 160 or 170 hp 308 cu in flathead straight-six. Optional: a Packard-built 208 hp 320 cu in V8 engine with Packard's Ultramatic automatic transmission.

1956 production: 8,152: 6,512 sedans, 1,640 hardtops. Standard engine: 160 or 170 hp 308 cu in flathead straight-six. Optional: a Packard-built 208 hp 320 cu in V8 engine with Packard's Ultramatic automatic transmission for the first half of the year, replaced by AMC's new 190 hp 250 cu in V8 engine in a new low-cost Hornet.

1957 production: 4,108: 3,359 sedans, 749 hardtops. Standard engine: 327 cu in 255 hp V8 with a four-barrel carburetor and dual exhausts.
