Tire shopping around here sucks, not many stores carry what I would even want in the first place. I'm thinking of going "down" (not really?) a size and strapping 195/60/15s on the Celica instead. It gives me a much larger, and generally cheaper set of options that really shouldn't compromise my performance all that much.

The BFGoodrich Traction T/A and Michelin Primacy MXV4 are sitting at the top of my list currently. I'll have to see if I can track them down locally and find out if they want to shoot me for even suggesting putting on something different than the OEM spec tire.

205/60/15 is still incredibly common as well... They'll be a bit taller but I doubt it'd be enough to make the speedo actually read high any.

I bought my wheels and Star Specs through them. Would definitely recommend them, as long as you don't mind taking them somewhere to get them mounted and balanced (Walmart does it for $40, though, depending on who works there, they don't allow non-factory sizes. I run 10mm wider and I've been lucky with the right people doing it for me).

Your review: First off I'll say this has been my only winter tie set.
Other then that, these tires are great and make the RWD on my car FANTASTIC in the snow. The roads can get very icy and snowy here, then usually glazed over but the traction on these are superb. Not only that, but the price of them makes a great difference too. The negatives of them are that if conditions of the roads are "normal" they arnt so hot. As in they can really not grip at all on rainy, really wet roads and don't do very good in weather at 50degrees and above. All in all Im happy to face anotyher winter with them and look forward to it!:)

MXV4s came on my wife's TSX and while they are a good enough tire, they are definitely not worth premium cost. I would mailorder a set of Continental DWSs which are cheaper and much better, then take them somewhere and have them mounted. Most gas stations will do it for $15-$20 per tire, including glue-on hidden weights.
 
So I picked up 2 Hankook Ventus V2 Concepts for the front of the 6 the other day.

The Sumitomos that were on the front (still 2 on the rear) wore the center of the tires from nearly full tread to the wear bars in 11,000 miles with rather nasty sidewall roll resulting in the outside edges getting beaten up as well... Only done around 50 miles on these Hankooks and they're bloody awesome. Haven't managed to get even a hint of roll under out of them, grip is phenomenal considering they're not broken in yet, ride is a slight improvement.

So far, so good. Will update eventually with further thoughts. Also, I suggest we get more people talkin' bout tires in here sharpish.
 
Well, the Yokohama Avid Touring-S tires have been on for the better part of a year now, and they're really doing well. During the winter they gave great grip - I think I have an inkling of what winter tires feel like with these. Now broken in and doing well, they're definitely one of the better all-season options, and still have plenty of treadlife left.

I'm now thinking of up-sizing, with my eye on wheel weight/price ratio and clearing, say, NX or SE-R brakes. Any ideas?
